Love all the ideas! :goodvibes

I would like to think of maybe one other thing for my boys. . . It seems that we have done everything to death in 5 trips!! Plus they are moving into the pre-teen phase and I'd like to think of more age appropriate "extras" for them. . . We've done the autograph books, the pressed pennies, the Epcot masks, the matching t-shirts, etc. They have done pin trading on the last few trips and will probably continue to do that. Any other ideas?

Sounds fun. We do movies and breaks along the way as well, but even so they get pretty anxious towards the end. Of course it could be that they realize they are getting close to Disney when they start seeing all the signs a hundred or so miles out, :rotfl:

That would do it! This is only our second trip to WDW so who knows what it will be like this time around. We're getting them out of school early on the 19th and driving until we get to our hotel just outside of WDW so they'll be awake longer on this trip than they were the first time.

We will leave either on the Saturday morning we plan to get there or possibly on Friday and drive half way there so Saturday we can get there very early and have all day to play.

My kids have been several times to Disney now and you would think eventually some of the excitement would wear off for them, but thankfully it never has. (Thankfully because their Momma is a WDW freak! :rotfl:) Every trip they are just as excited as the last!

I am so proud of them too. They have always tried to save a lil of their own money for each trip, but we don't usually plan so far ahead in advance so this time they have a lot more time. Justin, my 8 year old, has already saved up $60 and his b-day is right around the corner. He is determined he wants to take a minimum of $100 (plus the $25 I will give each of them) so that he can go hog wild in the lego store. :rotfl2: So while WDW is mostly about the fun, the planning part is teaching each of them how to save money as well. I love anything that is fun and educational! :cool1:

Me too! :yay: My kids save their own money for spending money at WDW. They always know to start saving as soon as we get back because I'm always working on another Disney trip!! It's fun to watch them make the decision of whether or not something may be worth the money and how much they will have left if they buy it!

Fun and Educational = Disney!! :cool1:

I wish we could fly. All the flights leaving here we can't work into our schedule without paying about $500 a ticket! We have drove every year anyways, so I guess this year will be no different. It is around a 12-13 hour drive. We always split it in 2 days. The girls are good travelers, so it is usually pretty simple. We typically try to make it as far as Columbia, SC if we are leaving on a Fri evening and then drive the rest of the way in on Sat for check in. We have drove it all in one day several times on our return. We have a bad habit of adding days once we get there! ;)

Momof2Disneyboys-

Love the passports they are so much nicer than the one my son had which Disney sold on our first trip back in 1989, but I remember how much fun he had getting all the stamps at the different countries.

I was going to make us all tee shirts for the trip even had gone to the Hanes site and found some good deals on different colored shirts , then I told my ds Who told his wife , who told my DH who said he was not wearing any matching Disney shirts so I said fine and gave up that idea :rotfl2:

The two years we drove down , we did the same thing and stayed an extra day, one year we left so late, we did not get home until 6 am Monday morning and I had to be at work for 8 am :scared1: We had run into the most horrible rain storm all the way from Orlando up I95 till NY, infact that is how we came by flying the next trip and every trip since, I said at the time I never wanted to drive again :rotfl:

We drive about half the time, but this time since we are traveling Thanksgiving week, tickets are too much! We actually don't mind driving, although my butt gets sore!
Hmom- The pictures with Mickey/Minnie and Donald/Daisy are from the big Pin Trading store at DTD.
Ksueboo- I don't think you can post pics directly from snapfish. You need to set up a photobucket acct and do it from there. These recent pics we've been posting are my first and it was pretty easy (took me two times)

Our first choice of dates this year was Nov 28 till Dec 3, but when I checked Delta for fares back in Feb, they were at over $1000 pp , so changed our dates to second week in Nov since the fares for then were only $447, decided to wait for JB and glad I did since we only paid $244 pp RT in April when the fares first came out.

Anyone else do scrapbooks or Disney Photo Books? I have done 4 scrapbooks and 3 photobooks (through the Disney photo pass). They are awesome but expepnsive. I've been playing around with digital scrapbooking and think I might try and do my own book designs through Artscow. I've gotten hold of some Disney background papers and embellishments through the disigners and ebay. Just curious if anyone else does this stuff.

No countdown things yet but think I may have rings that start on October 1st and goes to November 10th. I'd start on Oct 1st so I can have fancy rings for my roommates birthday, Halloween, I think my roommate's anniversary (I believe it's in October and will be year 8 of them together)...

But I may be lazy too to do anything so who knows what will happen

Can anyone tell me if the parade and show during MVMCP is the same on other days in Nov/Dec? Or do they only perform specific show and parade and fireworks just for MVMCP?

Love the Epcot passports and count down calendar. very creative!!

Thanks! :)

I scrapbook. Just regular - not digital. I have 5 WDW scrapbooks, one for each trip. I also have a photo-collage of each trip in a big frame and they are hanging in a row in the hallway. We call it the 'hall of Disney'!!

WOW- this girl's at work for one day and the thread runs wild-----

Momof2DisneyBoys--Love the Epcot Passport book. What fun!!!!

Cyndiloveswalt--I scrapbook all my vacations.I get most of my supplies from Hobby Lobby. I also get my t-shirts there for the transfers I do. Everyone loves to see the vacation books. Much better than pulling pics out of a shoebox.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

For me to drive would be about 26 hours without stops so that's not an option.
I haven't booked my SW airfare yet for either vacation. I like the times for Sept/Oct but not the price and the times for Nov/Dec are really not what I had in mind and the fare is outta site. At first I thought about moving a day over here or there but I really like the plan I have and so I'll deal with the flight times and I know that eventually the price will come into a better range for me.

OMG. $360? I got November air fare from Providence for $144 one way. What dates are you flying?

The cheaper fares were either at night (I don't want to lose a day on the way down - I want to fly in the morning) or they were not direct. The layovers are too long. I may have to suck it up, though. My husband's the shopper, so I delegated this task to him. :rotfl:

Cute!! We made those same passports last year. The kids loved getting stamps from the different countries.

I'm working on a character scrapbook for my boys, also I have a countdown calendar that I made a few trips ago-goes up 30 days before our trip. I laminated it so we could re-use it. Here's a pic:

I need to start looking at shirt designs....

PRECIOUS!!!! :cheer2: Is this just a white poster board w/ stickers underneath Home Depot Mickey heads?? Where did you get the letters & numbers? (And please don't tell me you cut each of them out!) :scared1: I love this idea & I think my kiddos would too!

AND, I design shirts (not on the disboard anymore...too time consuming.) How cool would it be if we all had November/Thanksgiving shirts to wear?

Hello all. :yay:
Checking in from Florida! So funny you guys are talking about driving down. We drove down on Saturday. Left Maryland around 5am and got here (about 2 hours north of Orlando) around 7pm. I like to drive straight through. My boys did great!

Going to see Mickey today for 3 days! :cool1::cool1: Can't wait to see the look on DS face!! For those who don't know. I am surprising my DS and taking him to Disney for 3 days for his birthday. We are down here because we are going on a cruise on Sunday. I'll be sure to post pictures when I get back :wizard::wizard:
