The New *Official 2013 Disney Princess Half Marathon Thread*

Im so excited for registration to open for the 1/2, I was doing web searches and found your board and joined!

I am running my first run disney event at the Tower of Terror this fall, I have registered for the TinkerBell, and waiting to do the Princess Registration to complete my Coast to Coast! I have been dieting and running since around Thanksgiving, feeling great, and so excited to run DISNEY!!

Thank you Julie for the music list! My "baby" is 15 so I would have never found the songs on my own! I might add one or two to my song list. I mean, no one will know I am listening to songs from a preschool show, right?

Oh I have several songs on my IPOD......for my runs not for my DD who is 5! Though we do listen to the CD in the car! I think its pop music like when I was a kid......fun tunes you can dance to....or run to. "Here we go" is a great one for tempo and "Surprise Yourself" if just a motivational one I think for us all. You know I love my Fresh Beats!

SO was planning on going to the pool, but the princess doens't want to go til later so I think....... OH GOOD, I can register at noon ! Priorities people.

Only 40 minutes until registration opens...YAY!

I loved other people's videos so I said I was going to do one....better late than never. I stopped SO much and believe it or not, I was faster this year than last...though I was injured last year and just happy to be limping along to the finish. Amy is alot faster than me and decided it would be more fun to do the race together....she was right...though we seriously loved the race the first year we both went at our own pace.

I loved your video! There are a couple I watch over and over again and yours is going to be one of them now.

::chanting:: Do it! Do it! How fun would it be having a pre-princess meetup, cold beer & a beach too? Sounds awesome.

And, yes--I'll be doing the 5K and the half. My daughter (who will be turning 6 during our trip) really wants to try the 5K. I obviously won't be racing (although, in most of my races several 8/9 year olds have finished ahead of me, so maybe I will be. ). I just hope she is able to cross the finish. I think I'm going to hold off registering for the 5K a little bit until I can get her outside some more to make sure she can do the pace.QUOTE]

I'll let you know if I register for the Smuttynose. I'm leaning towards it (I bend easily to peer pressure).

When do they come out with the theme of the 5K? I'm going to register for it as well, but will wait until after I pay off the Princess registration. I'm not doing it all for time, but for the pictures. And I'm sure your daughter will finish just fine. I get smoked at all my races by kids.

There were characters last year at the Royal 5k. (and some are the "rare" ones you normally don't see....Mulan's dragon/prince, Snow White AND a dwarf or two, etc) I didn't stop for pictures last year because I felt the lines were too long and I was scared I wouldn't be able to finish. I ended up running faster than I ever had. I am considering doing it again, just for the pictures. (and the rubber medallion of course)

I still can't decide on if I should do this race. I'm doing the Full in January and not sure I'll even want to do a race in Feb., but it being the 5th anniversary I might regret not doing it
