Jen - Alexaner LOVES ketchup. LOVES it ... he is into hot dogs now and dunks them in ketchup.

Alexander has been a total terror the last few nights. My brother and his girlfriend are down visiting and he just doesn't adjust to having other people around that well. He's great until he wakes from his afternoon nap but after that it's only Mamamamamamamama and just crying for no reason. At least right now he is actually sitting at the table eating. Not much of his actual dinner but some chips. At this point I don't care ... just eat something and stop crying!!

Brady is a HUGE ketchup fan! It's funny....we have this Mickey Mouse plate with separate parts for the "ears" (I think Michelle has this plate too - I've seen it on her blog!) and whenever I put ANY food on the plate, he wants to dunk it in the ear I put the ketchup in when he has chicken nuggets. The other day he was eating his grilled cheese and pretend-dunking into the ear (even though there was no ketchup in it) before EVERY bite. It was really funny!! Finally I just put ketchup in the ear for him...he thought it was fantastic!!!

I am sooooooooooo congested these past few days. I can't tell if it's allergies or a cold. Either way it sucks!! :sad2:

So what's everyone up to this weekend? No big plans for us. DH and I are going to go car shopping...both of our leases are up in June, so we need to decided what we want to get! Any good suggestions? I am leaning toward some kind of Toyota...maybe a Highlander or Sienna. I also like the Lexus GX or LX (but obviously lots more $$). I want to look at the Honda Pilot too. We lease all of our cars, so we are hoping if we walk into a dealership and tell them we are leasing two cars, they will work with us for a good deal. We will see! Apparently some places aren't doing leases - like Chevy - right now. So that may limit our search. I just want something dependable and with space, since we will most likely have 2 kiddos in this one!

i was hoping that everyone could give me some ideas for what to do for easter. we are planning on having the nieces and nephews over for easter and doing a big easter egg hunt for them. they range in age from 10 months old to 7 years old. what kind of things should i put in the eggs that would be good for everyone?

Kelly - I have the same plate for Christopher, and do the same thing with the ketchup now. As for cars, we have a Ford Freestyle (it's a Taurus X now) and love it. There's tons of room for both of us, Christopher's car seat, an enormous dog, and a ton of stuff. It's sort of minivan-ish though

lilianddomsmom - we always put peeps, marshmallow eggs, etc when the little kids were hunting too. Those eggs were the big ones, and were in plain sight. The older kids had to hunt for the smaller eggs. I'm not sure what we're putting in them this year, since he can't have the Peeps and stuff anymore :upsidedow

So DH and I test-drove the Toyota Sienna and the new Toyota Venza today. Both were really nice. I think I will definitely get the Sienna....just a matter of which style. I like how they have an all-wheel drive version. That will be perfect up here in snowy NH! DH liked the Venza...but also really liked the Highlander. Our leases are not up until June, so we will go back in a couple of months to do the down-and-dirty negotiations! I am excited to have all the extra room in the Sienna....but just a *tad* nervous about making the move to a minivan. My best friend has already started to give me crap about it (she is pregnant...no kids yet....so no clue how much crap is involved with having a kid!) I know once I have it, I will LOVE having all the space. I just have to keep telling myself that! ;)

Kelly...we looked at the sienna when we got our van. Yeah Caleb was two weeks old when we bought it. We were seriously looking at the Honda Oddessy but just could not really committ to it...well then DH found the new Chrysler town and country (I think we have the limited version...whatever is the highest version...we got everything we wanted in the town and country and more than we would have gotten in the oddessy. We have 3 tv channels in the town and country which will come in handy when caleb is older plus it has three tvs LOL! One in each row and one in the front (which will only work when van is in drive) DH and I also thought we would never go the minivan route but when we put the carseat in the car taking Caleb home from the hospital we knew right away we needed a bigger vehicle (we had a pontiac grand prix which we were told would fit a carseat well---not so much) but we figured in this economy a minivan is better gas mileage and easier to get a kid in and out of. Its so much more room...WE LOVE IT!! I never thought i would say that!

Caleb had his 6 mos pictures taken today. HE did well (as in no major meltdowns but since he had been up since 5:45am and didn;t get to go to sleep until we were done at 10:30am but we did not get a whole lot of smiles but he did look at the camera though. Most of the time he was more interested in the items she gave him to hold! lOL! I just wish she would put up the pictures so I can view them online. I want to see them! LOL!! but i know she;s busy and is probably waiting to put them up tonight after her daughter goes to bed!

Hello ladies!

the last half of last week was TERRIBLE!! Zoe had a ear infection and sore throat, so we got her Antibiotics and was pushing fliuds, etc. Thursday, she basically refused to eat and had an upset tummy...I swear I changed like 15 diapers on her that day.:scared1: At least she managed to stay hydrated. Friday, a little better, and by saturday night we did great. I got a haircut and we wnt to dinner..my children love seafood, and they both decided that they like ketchup now. I swear Zoe ate almost a whole decent size piece of fish herself! They at shrimp and sam even enjoyed a scallop! So alls well that ends well I guess....

thanks kelly. I had to go back and see which one that was LOL! Yeah I like that one too but I think i am going to go with either 2436 or one of the ones with the beach theme. I really wanted the coach tressel outfit to work out but I would not let him wear the onesie or the shoes before I had the pics takens and the shoes were too small. My aunt had gotten them for me as a shower gift and they were way too cute and they didn;t fit. I waited to long! :sad1:

I HATE when that happens!!! I have done this with several outfits...especially during that first year when I had so much from his shower put away. He just grew so fast, and I was still kinda learning that the size on the outfit does NOT correlate to his age/size...and that every brand runs so differently!!

I like 2436 too...and the beach-theme ones are awesome! Taking Brady to get his picture taken now that he can walk/run is sooooooooooo freakin hard. He just wants to run everywhere...or be with me....not pose for the camera. It's so frustrating! :headache:

yeah caleb was not wanting to smile on que. LOL! We got a couple out of him but that is about it. I think the 9 mos ones are going to be really different as he will probably be able to stand if not walk by then.
When we had his 3 mos done, we took my newphew 2.5 yr with us bc we wanted pics of them together and he was not wanting to have his picture taken. There was all these toys there that he wanted to play with! My mom was getting so frustrated with him and i'm like mom...he's two. What 2 yr old would want to get his picture taken when he can go play with toys!:rotfl:

Kara - Those pictures are beautiful! He's getting sooo big!!

I need to take a break from my TTC boards. I am going nuts. I started getting super faint lines on tests yesterday afternoon but they aren't getting much darker as of this AM. Beta's are supposed to double between 48-72 hours this early so I am not too concerned. If I don't get anything darker tomorrow AM than I'll put it down to a chemical but there are defenitely lines. I'll post some from yesterday!

Can you even see anything!!! :rotfl2:

Nothing too excited with us otherwise. My brother and his girlfriend where here last week. It was neat to hang out with him without my parents and as adults. It's different!!

Alexander is talking more ... adding new words pretty often. You know those video's that come with the larger Little People toys? He is obsessed with them. LOVES them. He has watched one disc with five stories on it about 4 times this AM.

WHOO HOO HOO!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Yikes! We just had a mild earthquake here! :scared1: They're saying it was a 4.3, but it was centered close enough that I could really feel the shaking. Nothing in the house was broken or anything like that, and Owen slept right through the whole thing, but I was nervous! I didn't know if I should dash into his room and grab him and head for the door jam, or if it was a small enough earthquake to ride it out. This is only the 3rd earthquake that I've felt since I moved out here 5 years ago, so I'm still trying to figure this out. In the end I decided that since it was shaking less than the earthquake I felt 2 years ago, I should just wait and see. Glad I did - it wasn't so bad and Owen didn't get his nap interrupted. The cats freaked out, though!

We do an egg hunt for the neighborhood kids every year, and stickers are a huge hit with all the kids. We also color-code the eggs so we can put baby-safe stuff for the younger kids in some eggs, and fun little toys that might be choking hazzards in other eggs for the big kids. The big kids know not to pick up any purple or yellow eggs, and then they can take any of the other colors they want. And we hide the purple and yellow eggs in super obvious places so the little ones can find them easily. Heck, sometimes we've just put a few eggs right in the middle of the yard and some of the babies still can't find them!

Oh, and we've bought things to put in the eggs from Oriental Trading Company. It's cheap and the kids like all the little trinkets, and we can avoid candy in case there are kids who can't have sugar. Sometimes we just put change in the eggs - the big kids LOVE getting money, even if it's pennies!

I see the lines! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kara, those pictures are great! We have never taken Spencer to have professional pictures, but I want to. I just imagine him running all over the place.

DMickey, it looks like a line to me. Have you tried a digital yet? :grouphug:

Meredith, glad Zoe is feeling better. I don't know if I ever told you, but I love her name (it was on my list for a girl). :)

We spent yesterday at AK and DTD. It rained in the morning so by the time we got there, all the people had left. We tried FOTLK again and Spencer LOVED it!

DMickey - I think I see lines, I hope they get darker soon! :goodvibes

Kelly - we have that same Mickey plate too, and Alex always wants me to put some kind of ketchup in the ear no matter what he is eating! What a surprise that a bunch of moms on a disney chat board have the same Mickey plates! :rotfl2:

Kara - cute pics of Caleb, I like the ones on the last page of him in the overalls too. The other ones are cute, but he is more the focus in those, less busy background! :thumbsup2

Meredith - sorry you had such a rough week, but glad Zoe is feeling better, and lucky Sam didn't catch anything she had!

Hi everyone else! :wave2:

****************
We still haven't taken Alex for his 2 year portraits yet. I took him for his haircut last weekend, and I don't want it to look too freshly cut, know what I mean?

We also didn't have any luck with the last 2 sessions at 1 year and 6 months because he was so mobile, we couldn't keep him still long enough to get a decent picture! :sad2: But now sometimes when I get out the camera at home to take his picture, he stops what he's doing, looks at the camera and says "cheese" so I'm hoping we may have better luck.

I'm also not sure where to take him since we moved. There are all of the same chains out here, but I'm not sure I really loved where we took him before, so I'm thinking of switching it up. Does anyone have a favorite chain, or do you mostly use local photographers?
