They should not get wet. In an extreme case they can be bathed in water but they cannot remain wet and it takes about 2 hours to blow dry a chinchilla since their fur is so dense if they don't get dry all the way to the roots the roots of their fur grows fungus ick! I did know one person who had to wet wash her chinchilla at her vets recommendation due to it jumpoing into her cake batter and getting it stuck throughout her fur. Glad mine don't roam as free as hers did LOL.

Interesting. So in nature do they live underground to stay dry?

I don't know this for a fact..but just guessing when they started raising them in captivity for their soft fur they overbred the trait and now the domestic chinchilla would never survive in the wild.

I've got a chair that I let my two cats claw. Anywhere else and they got the squirt bottle....they learned.

Pretty dog Sara!

It would be handy if you could spray dogs like that. But then they will start trying to drink the stream of spray. :confused3

Now where are my Ray Ban's?

If you don't find them, maybe just wear a large shade hat, to get by. :)

Hmm that is interesting. I suppose quite possible too. I've seen some wild cats and they don't seem to get pissed off when it rains as much as a house cat does if it get two drops of water splashed on it from the dish sink.

I wanted to let you know we are planning a trip to Anaheim!!!! :) I'm hoping we can say hi! :)

You and Gisele. I hope I get down to DL soon too.

Soooooo cute and I love their names!!!

 GOOD MONDAY MORNING, Misfits!! Well after a night of intense high winds and pouring down rain … its not so bad now!!! Rain and winds have stopped and looks even like the sun may return!!!

Have a good day, Misfits!!! :thumbsup2

Morning, the snow must of stopped right after I went to bed. It is really gray today, but so far nothing is falling out of the sky.

Have a blast in DL, pixie!!! :cool1:

Thank You! I'm so excited, I think I'm more excited than anyone else. LOL

Their parents are R2D2 (MOM) and General Grevious (DAD) so our son wanted to keep the Star Wars naming thing and since we had twins one boy one girl we named them after the only twins in Star Wars their names are Luke Skywalker & Leia Organa.

Not territorial at all in fact they are one of the few rodents that the Father is almost as involved as the mother in raising the kits. I don't have one of the whole family together just because if I had all 4 out of the cage at once and they all started jumping I would end up chasing Chinchillas all over the house. It took 30+ pics to get a few good ones since they move so fast. Not sure even with DH helping I could keep track of all 4 at once.

Here is one with both kits in it though

Wow!! A trip to DL!! You must be SOOO excited!:cool1:

Hope you have a blast!

Thank You!! I am excited beyond excited!! :) It's been over a year now and I can't wait to walk under the awesome sign and thru the tunnel!! :)

I wish you could go the same time Matt, that would be tons of fun. :) I saw Gisele's name on the check in, looks like she and I will be there the same time.....I wonder if we will be able to meet up!

Me too, but it's pretty short term for me to make it now. I did see a 1/2 off special for the Ramada Maingate for next week and started to think maybe I should gas up the car.

My dogs do that:rotfl2: /sometimes they even get in the way when I am trying to squirt the cats

They have 60 to 100 hairs per hair folicle which is just crazy. I just don't see a good reason that Mother Nature would go quite that overboard even to keep them warm. I have seen pics of wild Chinchillas and they just don't look like their fur is near as dense. They were raised in farm environments for so long to make highly coveted coats (much much softer than even rabbit or mink) that they probably bred for the denser fur. If the base of their fur is wet they grow a fungus that can kill them and that doesn't seem to be a good thing for a wild thing.

Crazy boy...I can't imagine even with an AP just gassing up the car and taking off from up here on that short of notice LOL

I cannot get over how cute the baby chinchillas are. When they are adults, they are really cute too. So they move that fast then? That would be humorous to see them moving all about, while you are trying to round them up. ;) he he...

Maybe you should go in with a list of attractions to see/ride. A checkoff list of sorts, so if you don't get into the park a lot you can work it from the top down and enjoy what you can.

I have barely went on any rides during my last two trips due to the quests and since I have went solo a lot during my last few trips, it hasn't been the same when I go by myself. It is always fun to ride with someone that enjoys it just like me. I am still going to do my favorite rides at the DLR no matter what like the Monorail, DLRR, and MFW.

What about u Matt, what is your favorite rides that you must do when you are at the DLR?

My DC birthday is coming up in a couple of months and he is a huge Lego fan just like me (I do collect Legos and love to build them). His parents ask me to get Legos at the Lego store in DTD. I asked them why they can't just get it at the Lego Store here in Sacramento, but they said that I have a discount with my AP and it can save them some money. I am wondering what Lego box I should get for him. He likes Star Wars and Ninjas, what should I get. I heard TheColtonsMom (Sherri) that you are a big collector of Legos, which one should I go with?

If you are going for a star wars set (they are some of the most expensive of the lego sets) Look for one with the most characters...you can't buy these individually just in the sets so the more characters a set has the better as the legos themselves are just legos and will work with whatever your cousin already has. And avoid the Death Star! $400 is ridiculous! Really fun is the buckets you can buy there and fill with as many parts as you can fit in them if you do a bucket go for anything that looks out of the ordinary as well as wheels and things like that as you never can have enough "extras" of the unusual parts.

Matt what was that formula you gave me that is how much $ X number of legos = a deal? However even using Matt's formula Star Wars sets will be more.

It would be nice if the Lego compnay made figurines that are easy to get than buying it from these boxes. Star Wars Lego sets are very expensive, the best Star Wars Legos I have is the 1st one and the 2nd Gunship & ATT. I did see one at the DTD store and it was really beat up. It would be neat to build the Death Star, but that is way out of my reach for Legos. I thought of getting him the Battle for Geonosis box since it is hard to find Captain Rex lego figure and is also has Luminara Unduli. I also like the ARC-170 Starfighter set which is a nice one too.

The dogs & cats think so too LOL

I can't remember the name but we got the set with Luke & the Wampa on Hoth, One that had Darth Vadar & a tie fighter pilot and something that had Captain Rex because Colton is a big fan.

Matt found us the Death Star plans and as soon as it is warmer in the garage we will start with the model paints and the legos. It is planned as our family project for next winter. I ended up having to buy model paint and less than 2 dozen parts we didn't already own. I will have to buy a couple more sets to get all the characters in the death star set but still far less than $400

LOL If you were me, I had an AP, and a job...I'd be all over that. LOL :) But it's a much longer drive for you then it is for me.......It is short notice, but boy would we all have fun! :) Me, you, Sara, Micah.....we'd have to kick the kids out and make them go do their own thing. LOL :)

You know, I like a few rides a lot. My must rides are pretty common. BTMRR, JC, HM, Matterhorn, FNSV,Splash, Space, POTC, the train and in DL Mr. Toad. Though I ride Splash and BTMRR about twice as much as any other attraction.
In DCA, TSM, GRR and Screemin.

Less fun more useful. A bucket of mixed legos. Hinges, wheels and swivels, and any really long pieces.

10 cents a lego. So set with 402 like the TS3 Dump truck set#7599 would be $40.20 but it's not. The specialty sets they are cobranded like this. Star Wars and Indy all sell at a premium. about 12 or 13 cents a lego.

This set I got my DS for his birthday is really nice. Lots of long pieces, plates and morving parts. Plus it is now commonly on sale for $39.99 just under 10cents a block. Perlster published a link here for this set for this price and free shipping on Amazon a week of two ago. It's probably down a page.

Kerri, only problem is I think next trip I'm taking DS and he's not old enough to roam on his own. Though maybe one of yours could be a cheap sitter.

Bret,
I also want to know if we get AP discounts at the lego store. That would be nice.

The Hoth Lego product is very interesting.

That must be very exciting to work on the Death Star.

When I bought Star Wars Figures (Clone Soldiers & Mandalorian Soldiers) at the DTD last month, I gave them my Premier Pass and they accepted it. I was about to give them my D23 card, but luckily I didn't have to get that card out. They gave me the 10% discount with my purchase and I saved $3 on that purchase.

Those are always must do rides when you are at the parks. I am kind of surprise that you like the DLRR.

I love building with legos ever since I was a very young child, I must have over 100+ sets and over thousands of pieces in my room and closets.

Yes, I did get a 10% discount with my AP when I presented it at the Lego store. All the APs get a 10% discount when you buy at the Lego store.

I like the DLRR for two reasons. I've liked trains for a very long long time. As a young child and an adult. Plus in DL the train goes right next to attractions so it's quite a pleasure to ride and see the park from.

I have lots of Legos, but they are slowly being handed down to DS, though I've given him about 15 sets for birthdays/Christmas and such. When I was little my Grand Parents would give me big sets which was awesome. I really liked the modular Galaxy Commandar from the space collection, but was never into space or science fiction. Also got the old airport set which was more fun because I liked planes a lot.

Then the best part there was a teenager in the nieghborhood with a huge collection who gave me his. And then I traded for some others.

Best part is now, I get to play with them again.

I'm going to have to look closely at the lego store for some deals with my AP.

I got it, that is a good reason just like me. I love trains when I was a child and still love them today, not as much as when I was a child. It is always fun to ride on the DLRR and ride on each of those five engines at the park.

I love when they had the first pirates set and than a few years ago, they used the old sets and made it even better. I like the castle sets and definitely the Lego trains are my favorite. The one with the electric battery in the train is okay, but I really like the electric tracks a few years ago.

It's good to get a decent discount at the store.

I never got into the train legos. I think because I had electric trains when I was little. I made a lot of jets though. But when I moved to the mountains all I did was play outside and I used my legos twice in high school to make models for visual aids. Then not again until DS was 4.

So I really had old set and now new sets. Wow thier has been a lot of evolution. But i hate the parts that are specific to a set. I like the universal parts the best.
