Another garbage from Disney.

I'm not talking about content... but the pixelization on this DVD is atrocious. How can they have the gall stating that the DVD is designed for Hi-Def use? Any DVD in my collection (I have about 1000+) looks better than this DVD.

It's much better than the previous "Where Magic Lives" DVD, but still garbage nevertheless.

Anybody thinking about buying this DVD, make sure you guys contact me so I can send you a preview before you plopped that much money into this title.

Is this the DVD that is sold in the parks or the one that they send to you for free for planning your trip.

DH always buys the Parks video when we go to WDW and we will be going soon. Any info would be awesome!

Thanks,
Korey

This is the DVD sold at the parks, not the freebie.

I bought it for $30 on eBay (or $20 from the parks plus $14 for shipping to Canada).

Either way, spending $20 for this piece of shazznaboo is insane.

in short:

1. there's hardly any fireworks (although they claim "Wishes" to be part of the presentation... all 5 seconds of them). My D8 recording is actually better than this recording.

2. there's way too much pixelation. Not as bad as watching VCD, but no better than watching DIVX (MPEG4) recording. Definitely not mastered on Hi-Definition (as advertised)

3. too much exaggeration in the 5.1 sound information. If the rear channel is any louder, you won't be able to hear the front channel at all

note: pixelation, bad colour rendition, improper 5.1 sound are definitely the DVD's fault, my setup is professionally calibrated (I'm also a THX and ISF certified technician) as per THX, ISF and Academy's standards.

I agree. I just bought this a few days ago at the Magic Kingdom, and the picture quality is atrocious. I'm very disappointed. 20 bucks down the drain. Don't buy it. Just watch the Travel Channel specials. They're better produced, too.

The free WDW trip planning DVD is MUCH better than this.

I was a bit let down with the content myself. i bought it because ds LOVED the planning video so much, I thought he'd love this too. It was okay, but just not the excitement I thought it would be. You can bet I will be ordering another planning video when the new comes out. And then it's time to plan away again!!!!!

I agree. We bought it too, and it's cute with the characters, but if you weren't seeing recently opened attractions, you would have swore it was filmed in the 70s. Can anyone recommend a good video, preferably of all the parks and most of the attractions?

I'm sorry! :( Thank you for letting us know though, I was thinking of buying it...won't now.

The freebie(vacation planner) is the way to go:D I have a VHS tape sold at the Disney store from about 10 years ago (or more).
It's about an hour, and it's the best ever, but it's very out of date now. You'd probably see some of the same people in the tape as you do now on DVD.
