The New Lizard Lounge

Chris and your sister are in my prayers. I can’t imagine how worried she must be, yet I know she is intensely proud at the same time. I pray that the Lord will cover Chris with protection and send angels to guard his path.

Once again I am asking for some prayers for my Nephew Chris. He is a member of a crew supporting cobras and hueys. He called his Mom because it had been reported that a crash occurred and the two crew members died. It took three days to recover the crew. He did not want her to worry about him, because one of the crew members held his rank. He never lets his Mom know too much about what he is involved in because she would never sleep. he told her that his area was relatively cleaned out of insurgants, but his unit must be out looking for them. Now she knows.

My sister said that he is very upset, this is the second time that he loses close frends, and this is very close to home for him and for her. If you can send a few prayers for his safety along with those who serve, and maybe a few for my sister, I would appreciate it.

I cannot imagine how a mother survives this. We lost a young Marine last month in my town. My sister has not been able to talk about it, and this is unusual for her. She has attended services for the servicemen in our area who have fallen, but this was too close to home, I think. And now this.

:sad1: Do know that he will be in our prayers.

I will keep her son in my prayers along with all of the families who are touched by this horrible war. Please keep us posted of his well being. I read on another board of how so many of our young men are being re-deployed multiple times and how they are not being given the mental support they need when they are finally sent home permanently and it saddens me so much. I hope that you can get our boys a message, even if it is only to this one, that he is in our prayers and that we think of them often. It is so important, no matter how we feel about this war, that our boys know that we are proud of them, that their volunteer service to our country means something to us. That we haven't deserted them nor will we when they return home. I only hope that everyone stands up for them when they return to be certain that they all receive the medical - both physical and mental - care they deserve.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. I really do know that my family has been remembered, and I am grateful for your support. I will send him your well wishes. He is on his third tour. His enlistment was to be up prior to his return, but he elected to lengthen his time in order to join the team that he has been working with. He felt that he would like to work with the guys he is familiar with.

On his last trip home, he said that they boarded a commercial plane once they landed in Maine. He was surprised by the reaction that they received because to him, it is his job. The applause kind of shocked them all, but they really appreciated it.

As always, I return your generosity and always remember to send my prayers up for all of the families in our little Lounge, as I have seen how powerful faith and hope can be.

Nancy, Your nephew is in Tim's and my prayers. In fact, each day in our prayers there are names that Tim does not know. Minniesummer, Minniesota, Nancy's brother-in-law and nephew. Tammi and her family, just so many. It is wonderful that we have each other to support in our travels through life. Both the wonderful magic trips to WDW and those difficult moments in our each of our lives. :grouphug:

Angel>>My plans are still not set in stone, but I do plan on being at AKL's CL for part of the trip! I think I'll be jumping around quite a bit, all the way from GF RPC to POP, to AKL!

Thank you to all of the veterans, both current and past, who have served our country,
Debbie

Debbie, I imagine you are going for several days with all those wonderful resorts to experience. :yay: You certainly deserve and need to get away.

By the way, I received a photo e-mail the other day of an alligator that they killed in Florida. It was over 10 feet tall and weighted over 400 pounds. This 6'6" man was standing next to it and he looked SMALL. :scared: Nope no tent for me on a camping trip after seeing that one.

Minniesummer, How are things going with you? Know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Donna (of SteveandDonna
) :wave2: Hope things are going along well for you. Miss seeing you around the lounge.

StephH - How are the little ones doing? When is your next trip to WDW? You have such a wonderful ability and gift in sharing your story in pictures and word. Cannot wait for you next trip. :teeth:

Elizabeth, Your thread on resort ROOMS is wonderful. I have not had the time to put pictures in photo bucket or somewhere easy to post. But that is in the plans. Then I will be doing more then just a lurker on your thread. Hey, when is Disney going to come out with the list of performers for CP? I really want to get a good date and dinner ressies set up.

Goofy'sMuse, Bet you are still working on your house. Remember you have to have some fun you know. "all work and no play makes Goofy ????? :dance3: How are things going? Do you have it up for sale yet?

DISBUG, Where or where have our Glitter names gone in our posts signatures? Things are appearing and disappearing around here lately. :clown:

TammiMcMann- Hope you and your family are doing well. Thank you for the information on the Everglades Suite. I contacted her and she gave me a lot of information. So nice of her. :)

Minniesota, Hope you are doing well. Drop us a line and let us know how things are going if you can. Are you still planning that cruise you mentioned some time back? I think it is early next year?

Bonnie, Whoo do not want to forget you my friend. Are you heading out to fish this week end? I would love to do that. Just too hot out here right now. Those fish will be down deep. Thank you for all you help with questions I have had these past few weeks. It is funny, we seem to hit the same threads. Great minds!

Well I had better get going here. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and make sure you do something fun. I have a massage scheduled for 5:30 PM in my home.....now that is about as good as it gets for me. pixiedust:

Angel

Angel- I know why you have the moniker that you do - you are an angel to remember all of us in the lounge. With all the ups and downs of everyday life, it's so nice to come here and know there are all of you who care!

I'm sending up lots of prayers for all of you in need. I know that with my dad's situation, I have come to look at life differently. Every day really is a gift and I'm trying to live more in the moment. I hug my kids a little harder, hold my husband's hand a little longer, sit on the floor with my puppy for 10 more minutes and smile at strangers even when they don't smile at me.

Nancy - Special prayers for your brave nephew and family - please know they are all heroes in my eyes.

The plans for the cruise next March are still in the works and I consider adding my folks to the ressie every day. The doctors have given my dad 3-6 months (and that was in early May) but I keep telling my dad he is his own statistic - and we're hoping to far surpass the "medical opinion." He does not have one symptom - feels great - takes no meds. I told him that every day is gift, dad. He said, "I've felt that way every day of my life." Talk about teachable moments...

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and wish all of you well! Each and everyone of you has left a mark on my life and I thank you. And I thank Walt and Mickey for bringing us all together! I'm going to put on my Wishes CD and think happy thoughts - here's wishing all of you a great weekend!

Just popping in. I couldn't sleep well. SIL graduates this morning and there's a big party to follow. We have our work cut out for us since there is a small window to get it set up before guests start arriving. It's not going to rain, it's not going to rain, I SAID it's not going to rain. :teeth: Did I mentioned she wanted a pool party. :rotfl2:

Angel - You always keep us together. :grouphug: No fishing this weekend, but we're suppose to go back next weekend. Then we'll be off on our cruise the following weekend. :woohoo: I should've booked a fishing excursion while at Disney, but DH always wants to go to a park. I think I'll be able to at the meet so I might get to do it just yet. :teeth:

I believe Disbug is on vacation and Debbie has been awfully quiet. I know it's the end of the year for her - being a teacher and all. Where is Elisabeth?

Big ol' wave to you all. I'm thinking about each of you.

Nancy, Your nephew is in my prayers. I also agree with what other posters have said. Even if not said, so many are in my prayers every night and in my thoughts during the day. You ladies are so wonderful in so many ways.

Bonnie knows me all too well! I go from no time, to *humming* too much time on my hands, in the course of a few weeks. Two more weeks to go, most of it chaos with packing going on, too! My room will end up in our pole barn, much to the chagrin of my DH.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, with no bad weather to spoil the fun! Good luck, Bonnie, with your plans!

Debbie

I've been off the last two days, as I took a couple of days off before starting my new job on Monday. I know that I'll enjoy the new commute for sure--it's only 5 miles from my house. That's hard to come by in Atlanta traffic! LOL!

I hope everyone is doing well! :sunny:

Hello to the Lounge! We are back and had soooo much fun! :woohoo:

Wha? Who is missing their glitter siggies and how did I get fingered? Are there pictures? Am I in them?

As for our vacation this past week, we were in the Hard Rock Hotel in Orlando! What a place! No, we did not see John, <sigh> but that is okey doke! We had a fabulous time. Stayed in a King Suite with a connecting Queen room and couldn't have been happier. The only down side was with dining at THE PALM restaurant, which is onsite. It was very disappointing. Perhaps its reputation in New York is stellar, and I was expecting too much. Its not that the food was bad, in fact the portions were HUGE! But it was just "OK" as far as the taste. YIKES! I don't know if I would go back for a $100 meal there again. (*Sorry, if this is anyone's favorite!) It has been crossed off my "To Do" list... and is now on my "To Don't" List! :sad2:

Debbie! Glad to hear you are through for the year and packing it up! This class did not appreciate you and clearly made you crazy for most of the year... I'll bet this is a blessing in disguise so you can move on to something better in the fall! Hope to hear you've finalized your rooming plans for July! Can't wait!

Bonnie! Almost cruisin' time! You lucky girl! Looking forward to all of your pictures and stories when you return! Let me know if I am supposed to be doing something in regards to our summer plans. :Pinkbounc

Waving hello to Elisabeth and everyone else! Hope your Memorial Day was special!

Welcome back Disbug. Glad to hear you had a good time. Now as far as the glitter signitures. Well, someone made off with them. There has been a lot of things coming and going on the DIS the last few days. I think IT is trying to upgrade the system. :thumbsup2

oh oh a new job :Pinkbounc Elizabeth, tell us about it. I had missed that you were looking for a new job. Hope it is wonderful. Have a great first day! :grouphug:

Bonnie, Now long now for you big trip. I am so excited for you. Wish I was going along. And for the record, you are certainly welcome to join us at The Chef's Table.

I have got to run. Make dinner and get off my rear. :rolleyes1 :dance3:

I'm sad to hear that there has been some Sig snitching going on. :sad2:

I'm just catching up and happy to see all of the updates here.

Minniesota: I am so glad that your Dad has such an uplifting attitude. You have my best thoughts and prayers taht you will be traveling together.

Elizabeth: A new job! Good luck in your transition and Awesome news for your commute. DH has always had a short commute to work, a blessing as he drives all day. He is amazed that some of his coworkers travel over an hour to and from, and then drive all day in between!

Disbug: Glad to hear that you had a great time on your vacation. I am always disappointed if I an expensive meal does not live up to my expectations. I don't mind spending good money for good food, but $100 for mediocre would give me buyers remorse. Sorry that it happened to you.

VaGal: How was the party?

Debbie: I did not realize you were a teacher. My niece teaches in AZ, and her classes behavior seem to alternate each year. I am amazed at the professionals who can educate our youth on a daily basis and still stay sane. :thanks: Have a great summer!

I am humbled by all of you. It is a comfort to know that people who have never met me or my family have come to care about us and share their prayers for health and safety. I never understood the relationship that can develop with a few sentences, but I do now. I have come to "know" you and your families, and think about you, wish you well in you vacations, share your joy in your childrens accomplishments ( and you have some very talented kids here) and pray with you in your family health challenges. It is a bit overwhelming to have met a community such as you, but I thank God to have found you.

Now I have call the guy who is working on our front yard. I was supposed to spread the mulch, but DH fired me. He has an issue with me, a wheelbarrow and a pitchfork. :confused3 I hope the guy has time or Buddy will spend the next two days worrying.

Just wanted to check on you all. :grouphug: This is such a wonderful warm group of people. I second so many of you and your thoughts recently. I am so grateful for each of you. Your caring, humor and support means so much to me. I feel like I know you as friends and think of you and your families.

I know some of you already know this from the Wild Bunch Thread but....

I've got the Chef's Table at Victoria and Alberts on our holiday trip![/

Sorry, I just found out this past Saturday and I am just so  so. so, excited. I have tried for three years to get that table during one of our trips. This year is the year. :lmao:

What Tim doesn't know is I am planning this dinner as a Celebrating Life party in his honor. :Pinkbounc I am so very blessed to have him in my life and so grateful that he came through this past 6 months. :worship:

So I am looking for ideas to make that night even more memorable for him. Men are much harder to think up ideas for then us ladies. Please, all are welcome to share ideas. Please?

Hugs, Prayers and Pixie Dust for all,

Angel

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I don't have any ideas for your celebration because my DH would be so uncomfortable that I have gotten away from planning anything that places him in the center of any situation, but I am so excited for the two of you! The both of you have have a rough road these past months so it is wonderful that you are in the midst of a vacation celebration with special treats that you have waited so long for.

I am blessed with a wonderful, generous but very practical man in my life. He was a farmboy raised to keep emotions under the surface, with no place with overt signs of romance. He would never be able to plan or to participate in this kind of trip, so I am counting on you to keep us posted because I love to see the joy you are having keeping your secret. I am thrilled for you!

Nancy

Hey!

Nancy - The party lasted literally all day. Whew! DS swam for 6 hours and only came out for 15 minutes to scarft down a hamburger (need to refuel). I can't believe the energy that kid has. It was great. The weather held out - it didn't rain. Life is good! My SIL was just on cloud 9. :cloud9: I hadn't seen her this happy in a long time.

Angel - I wish I were more creative. I just wasn't born with that good creative gene. If something pops into my head I'll be sure to post it before my senility kicks in.

Off to do that work thing that pays the bills and more disney trips. :thumbsup2

Good Morning everyone,

Angel, congrats on the Victoria & Albert ADR and the Chefs table no less. I wish I could help you with your plans, but have to agree that men are tough. I don't know alot about V & A, but I think they give you a personalized menu. Perhaps you could work with them and create something a little more special. Maybe highlight an event with each course, with a photo from that time. Disney is so amazing with planning things, I'm sure they can help you out.

Minniesota, your father is an amazing man. It would be wonderful for you all to take the cruise together. Continued good thoughts for your family.

Elisabeth, congrats on the new job. Gotta love short commutes, especially with gas at $3.00 a gallon.

Disbug, welcome back. Glad to hear that you had a fun time.

VAGal, have an awesome time on the cruise. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get a chance to check out the new villa spa.

GoofysMuse, how is the move coming? I'm sure between the house and getting the kids summer schedules on track has been keeping you quite busy. DD decided not to sign up for cheerleading in the fall. She wants to try cheer dance instead. That will be a new road for us.

Debbie, I'm almost on the 2 week countdown myself. Due to the recent flooding here, we ended up getting scheduled for one more day, but the DOE took pity on us and waived it. Thank goodness, there's nothing worse than having to come back into school on a Monday for your final day.

It didn't take long for my June calendar to fill right up. We've got some banquets, graduation parties and it seems like a dozen birthdays this month. My son and his partner have their new website up and running if anyone wanted to check it out, Ice Dance . They're both finishing up finals now and start summer training at the end of the month.

Thanks for asking, TammiMcMan (and Angel, too). We are doing the "happy dance" as our offer on the new house was accepted TODAY! The Goofys are totally psyched! We've chosen our listing agent and expect our own house will go on the market next week. It cleaned up nicely (but yes, Angel, I admit I was becoming a bit of a tyrant). The kids are happy to hear that the only thing on the agenda for this weekend is just a little garden "tweaking"... a few more annuals, a few less weeds! ;) This rain is making for a lush-looking lawn, but man those weeds are prolific!

Summer plans for the kids are in place, except we still haven't planned an official family get-away yet. I expect I will need at least a couple days of true R+R (OK, more than a couple...) but I know I need to save the bulk of my "vacation days" for packing/moving/unpacking, etc. We also have a lot of near-term decisions to make (tile, granite, paint, lighting fixtures, etc). I am starting to see the faint light at the end of the tunnel (and am just hoping it isn't the glow from an oncoming train!)

So given that I will likely be vacationing vicariously this year, I do hope you all will continue to share your trip details! :) I'm holding good thoughts for all of you... with special P & PD for all you caregivers and loving family members.

BTW, Tammi... Thanks for sharing your son's web site! What an impressive couple they are!!

Goofy's Muse - I am so excited for you. Your offer has been accepted and your house in probably on the market today. That is wonderful. I am sure your exsisting home will sell quickly. pixiedust: So tell us all about your new home. Do you have pictures? ;)

I_Tink - Welcome to lounge, help yourself to some fresh grilled shrimp I just put out along with a selection of wines and beer. There is also several varities of soda. Pull up a comfortable seat and visit with us a while. :)
Welcome, glad to have your join us.

Nancy, how is your nephew doing? I have kept him and your BIL and DS in my prayers. How is your trip planning going. If I remember correctly you were going on a short trip just you and your DGD. Is that correct? Then you have the big trip next January.

My SIL called last night from Iraq. He is doing ok, but feeling a bit depressed. Everyone he has known has headed home. Then his closest friend and the person who he prays with left yesterday. DSIL only has 40-50 more days. We talked about WDW and their stay there this past January. The time my DH and I arranged for them at AKL CL and the sunset safari. Then.....I dropped the big one. Could he and my DD make it to WDW for my Victoria & Alberts Chef's Table surprise for Tim? Wow, there was a real change in his voice as I talked about he and our DD being my guests for the dinner and what all they serve. :thumbsup2 I don't know if the logisitics will work out for them, but it sure did bring him out of his funk. Disney has a way of doing that. :wizard: If would be so wonderful if they both could come, we will have to see what all happens.

So I see our dear Bonnie is leaving in just 3 days for her Disney stay followed by a Disney cruise, followed by a Disney AKL stay. That girl know how to travel. Have a wonderful time and know you and your super sence of humor will be missed around the lounge. :grouphug:

Hey, is school out yet? Out here Friday was the last day.

Have a good evening everyone.
