Thanks for the compliment on the thread, Angel! I just love seeing pictures of the rooms, and I figured I couldn’t be the only one. LOL! :teeth: In some cases, the rooms themselves help me make the decision about which resort to choose better than the overall resort pictures.

Elizabeth, the only problem with the thread is that the list of resorts that I want to visit has grown........and grown.........and grown. :confused3

Angel, how awesome that you have so many "firsts" lined up for your trip! And they are all GREAT firsts, too! I think you will be happier eating after the CP especially at LeCellier... I just hate to feel rushed during dinner, don't you?

Elisabeth! Totally great thread you started... you know me and pictures! :cheer2: Love 'em! That is really neat we might be there during the same time! I am UP for a meet, absolutely! We'll have to coordinate with Angel when the dates get closer! Is anyone doing the PARTY FOR THE SENSES during the F&W Fest?

I’m glad you’re all enjoying the thread. I know I am—everyone has some neat shots, even some I’ve never seen before like the Everglades Suite at the GF and one of the renovated wing suites at the CR. Everyone come participate—I know you all have some great pics!

VAGal, welcome home. I love hearing the camping stories. I was actually 5 months pregnant with my DS one of the years we stayed at Fort Wilderness. I slept on a cot though, there was no way that I could have been on the ground. Great trip with extended family and lots of wonderful memories. My DH is a boy scout, but lost the camping bug about 10 years ago. If it doesn't come with room service, it's not for him :teeth: .

Elisabeth, nice job on your thread. I admit, that I'm a picture person. I usually decide based on what I see.

Steph, I didn't see you stopped by. Beautiful pictures.

Nancy, yeah to no more rain and finally a stretch of warm weather :sunny: . Of course, we'll be going to school until the end of June to make up for snow days and flood days.

Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day weekend. DD is in a parade on Saturday and with the weather looking good, we're heading to the beach on Monday. Enjoy the start of summer and now everyone can "officially" take their white shoes out of the closet right? :lmao:

Tammi - I hear you. DH isn't the camper in the family. I just drag him from campground to campground. He digs his heels in everytime I mention FW. He says he'll be at the AKL if I need him for anything. :rotfl2:

Big "HI" to all you ladies! :wave2:

Have a great three day weekend, everyone! Don't forget to remember our veterans on Monday!

Bonnie! That is too funny about your DH... tell him he'll have to stay WL Concierge so at least he'll be nearby!~ :goodvibes

Debbie! You, too! We're heading to the HARD ROCK HOTEL :hippie: so, wish me luck on a good room and running into John Bon Jovi again! :thumbsup2

We will definitely be thinking of all our service personnel this Monday... :grouphug: They are what makes our country strong! BYE everyone! I'll see you soon!

/
Denise - Have a great trip! Jon Bon Jovi? What? You must take me with you then. I want to bump into to some of that - hubba, hubba. Ok, I'm going back to my room.

Bonnie! YOU bad! He was with his family! Wife, 4 cute kids and entourage! :thumbsup2 But, uhmmmm... yeah~ he was still "hubba hubba"!

See you all real soon! :grouphug:

Oh Nancy, :rotfl: we all need goals in life. One of mine is to stay in all the really great resort at WDW.

TammiMcMann - Ok, I have this great need to know how much it costs to stay in the Everglades Suite at the GF? Ever since I saw the pictures on Elizabeth’s thread it has been popping into my mind. :goodvibes Where is it located? Has anyone on this thread ever stayed there? I need to know all the info and Tammi you are THE WOMAN for The GF.

Debbie, how many more days till summer vacation? Are you staying at AKL during the meet in July?

Disbug, Which Hard Rock Hotel are you at? Are you in Vegas? That is where I have seen HIM but...he was alone. Deep cleansing breath....oh yeah as I was saying. Hope you have a great trip and really good room with a great "view" :rolleyes1

Bonnie, You always make me smile and/or laugh. What a joy you are. :)

This Memorial Day thank you to all that have family, loved ones and friends who are serving our country. Let us all remember those who have given the
Ultimate sacrifice
. As I have heard from Tim many times and I know it is not an original saying but it has true meaning.

For those who have fought for it Freedom has a taste the protected will never know.
God Bless our Service men and women. :grouphug:

Angel, I'm pretty sure that it's a 2-bedroom hospitality suite located in Conch Key. Liz is JJohnson who posted the pics, you can definitely send her a PM for more info. Based on what I've read, it can run between $1685 and $2285 per night, depending on the season.

For Angels SIL, Nancys nephew and anyone else who has service men and women in their family, thoughts and prayers are with them all today.

*WILLING TO SHARE JON WITH ANY OF THE LIZARDS*

Angel>>My plans are still not set in stone, but I do plan on being at AKL's CL for part of the trip! I think I'll be jumping around quite a bit, all the way from GF RPC to POP, to AKL!

Thank you to all of the veterans, both current and past, who have served our country,
Debbie

Good Morning! I'm just catching up after a busy weekend. I am still so far behind in the yard because of the endless rain that we have had, but making headway.

I want to thank those who remembered Chris this weekend, along with all of the men and women currently serving our beloved land. I know that Memorial Day honors those who have gone before us, but it is hard to pay tribute without remembering our troops so far from home.

I grew up near the airport, and we still have the National Guard serving there. Well, yesterday the A-10's were flying nonstop over my house, I think they were doing fly overs for the parades in the area between Hartford and Westover so I am in the flight path. It gave me the chills because they are the scariest planes when they are just over your head.

I have a question. I just booked a quick trip at the end of August, because I could not pass up the free dining. ( I am also working on my goal, thanks to Elizabeth, baby steps ;) ) I am taking my DGD who is four, and my Sis in law is joining us. We are staying at POFQ waterview because my SIL thinks that Kady will like the pool. I did not make any requests, forgot to ask for non smoking, so any suggestions which building would be a nice one with a little one?

Good Morning Lizards!

I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day. I only saw a few minutes of it, but PBS was airing a concert from the steps of the Capital in DC—it was really moving. I’ll have to remember that for next year. God bless our service men and women, both past and present!

Nancy, I’ve never stayed at POFQ, but I have stayed at its sister resort, POR. These resorts really have a ton of charm and atmosphere, so you won’t be disappointed in that department. POFQ is a small resort compared to the other moderates, so you shouldn’t have a terribly long walk from any of the buildings to the pool or food court. I have heard that they sell beignets in the food court, so you’ll have to check on that for us. ;) Also, they offer boat service from POR and POFQ to Downtown Disney—it’s a relaxing ride with some pretty scenery along the way, so be sure to try that if you get a chance. Enjoy the free dining and the quest to stay at all the Disney resorts!

ELizabeth, you must have ESP. I am looking forward to the beignets with my morning coffee. I had started this little trip thinking that I would keep the price way down by staying at ASMO ( I had placed a complimentary hold on the room) and that Kady would enjoy the icons. Well, I kept thinking about those lovely pics of the POFQ, and dreaming of me nibbling little snacks......It is still low because the dining is included, so I am way ahead of the game.

My family is laughing because now I want to stay at the BC, so I am thinking of the trip after our Poly stay. You have created a monster here. :rotfl:

Well, Disney Resort Addiction is a serious disease and it spreads easily. :teeth: ;)

Does it make you feel better to know that DH and I have tried to plan strategies for how we’re going to stay at all the various resorts we want to try and re-try from now until 2009? :teeth: Let’s just say that splitting my stays really helps!

I think I have the disease, and there seems to be no cure for me.

Just the thought of split stays has my very organized need to be ready weeks in advance got to send a box just in case and call several times to check DD nuts! I tried because I have become entranced with the BC, and the "girls", which is what Buddy calls DD and DDIL, want the Poly.

Now I am going to run all those errands that make my DH think that I am the bomb when it comes to making life here so much nicer for him.

Once again I am asking for some prayers for my Nephew Chris. He is a member of a crew supporting cobras and hueys. He called his Mom because it had been reported that a crash occurred and the two crew members died. It took three days to recover the crew. He did not want her to worry about him, because one of the crew members held his rank. He never lets his Mom know too much about what he is involved in because she would never sleep. he told her that his area was relatively cleaned out of insurgants, but his unit must be out looking for them. Now she knows.

My sister said that he is very upset, this is the second time that he loses close frends, and this is very close to home for him and for her. If you can send a few prayers for his safety along with those who serve, and maybe a few for my sister, I would appreciate it.

I cannot imagine how a mother survives this. We lost a young Marine last month in my town. My sister has not been able to talk about it, and this is unusual for her. She has attended services for the servicemen in our area who have fallen, but this was too close to home, I think. And now this.
