The New Kinder, Gentler Me - The Rubber Chicken is Loose!! Pg 19/#283!!!

I make a pot of coffee….and oh, can I just say that ONE MORE thing I love about SSR, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I recall a bigger coffee pot. Sweet.

WOW. i don't even know what else to say - what an amazing sight!

DS and I were going to spend the morning at MK. Just the two of us.
YAY! You guys are gonna have so much fun...
Lauralee131 said:
And – here’s a mental picture for you – we skipped. All the way to the bus stop. Singing “We’re going to the Magic Kingdom” over and over again. Picture Dorothy and pals following the yellow brick road. It was like that. Yep. It was quite a sight.
Love it!:cool1:

At the turnstiles, we were greeted by a very friendly CM who told us that we couldn’t start our day without a little pixie dust! She then gave us each some sparkly, different colored Mickey head confetti. Michael screamed at the top of his little lungs looking at what was in his hand…MOM!!! She gave me PIXIE DUST!! REAL, LIVE PIXIE DUST!!” pixiedust: It was so unbelievably cute. And loud. He got the attention of everyone around him who enjoyed this little spectacle of Disney Magic. The CM enjoyed his reaction and we both told her “Thank you and Have a Magical Day!”:wizard:
I've never seen them do this before - soo cool! And I love Michael's reaction :goodvibes
Lauralee131 said:
Ooh – look Michael – Photopass!!! Let’s get our picture taken!!
Yep, saw that one coming. ;)
Lauralee131 said:
As we approached POTC, I convinced DS to deviate from his little plan to take a few minutes here. And what’s this? Is it closed? There isn’t a soul in sight. Nope – it’s open! And it’s all ours! We couldn’t pass this opportunity up! We quickly dumped the stroller and headed inside. Seriously…not another person even walking towards the ride. Just us. Sweet
See? I knew this was going to be a great day!

Lauralee131 said:
We got on rather quickly and had almost too much room in the car with just the two of us. Usually DH is with us and the three of us are packed in pretty tightly with DS in the middle, arms up the whole time.
Oh, I know where this is headed...popcorn::
Lauralee131 said:
[But this ride, with just the two of us, we had a lot of “wiggle” room and the first time Michael put his arms up, he slid across the seat and that scared the pants off him. So he hung on to the bar the whole time, but laughed all through the ride. This time I was on the “Squisher” side and he was the “Squishee”. Note to self, switch sides next time!
Hey, I resemble this scene! :crowded: :rotfl2:

We went over to Columbia Harbor House for chicken and fish... I really enjoyed our little lunch break. We had a yummy meal and good conversation.
This is so funny - DS and I ate at CHH on our last Mom&Son day trip, too, and had the BEST lunch experience! I don't know what it is about that place, but it just seems to breed happy feelings.
Lauralee131 said:
He finally leaned over to me and said he was “sick and tired” of listening to her. It was adorable. I reminded him to be nice and he let out a heavy sigh. Eventually she and her parents were on their way and no sooner did they leave and he said “WOW I thought she’d never stop talking”.
:lmao: Way to charm the babes Michael! Too cute!

A guinea pig is neither Italian, nor Pork
Discuss…
Certainly... Guinea pigs are not Italian, as they originate from South America. Neither are they of the pork family; rahter, they stem from the genus Cavia.

Oops - gotta run, but I'll be back with more!

Wow, where is everybody today?!

Lauralee131 said:
And, with it being just the two of us, how could I take him up to the slide and be at the bottom waiting for him?
Ahhhh, you’ve now arrived at every on-my-own-with-the-kid-at-the-pool parent’s dilemma…

Lauralee131 said:
Sorry Buddy, if Daddy was here he could take you up to the top and I could wait at the bottom, but with just me here, I don’t think the slide is a good idea. He was devastated. Then he came up with a plan. You could just go on the slide with me Mom. Exqueeze me? Baking powder? ME???? On THAT??!??! Turns out the kid had an answer for everything. You go down first Mom. Wait for me at the bottom. See? We don’t need Daddy here for that. Grrrr….he had a point. But how could I go down the slide and not be at the top to be sure you get on safely. MOM…I’m a big boy. I can go down by myself. You go first and wait at the bottom. I’ll be fine.
Leave it to the 5 year old to reason it out! :cool1:

And I know I keep saying it over and over again, but I really love it here. It truly feels like your “Home Away From Home” and I was convinced after this short visit that buying into DVC was the single best investment we have made. And I know this was the No Plan vacation and all, but I think it was the environment we were in that made it feel so relaxing and I highly recommend it.
I do believe I may be "sold"! :rotfl:

I’m so glad you got to enjoy a Mommy & Son day in The World! It really is a nice and different way to experience the place, isn’t it? You’ve left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. :goodvibes Of course Jack & Coke has a way of doing that…

All I can say is.....

.....YOU AND MICHAEL ROCK!

:tinker:you :stitch:Michael
(This is you two during your very magical day.)

LOVE how your day started! Those hot air ballons were a sign of a great day ahead!

I'm still thinking about the guinea pig thing.....:scratchin Hmmmm, maybe a subject like this would've been better in my 'fuzzy' college days.:hippie:

WOW. i don't even know what else to say - what an amazing sight!

I was pretty disappointed in the way my pictures came out - it was so cool to see the sky filling up with these balloons. They kind of kept going though and didn't come over the resort so I couldn't get any closer shots of 'em. Was cool though - and what a warm fuzzy way to start the day, huh?:thumbsup2

YAY! You guys are gonna have so much fun...

We really had a good time - and TOTALLY WITHOUT ADULT SUPERVISION!!:rotfl2: We didn't get over to ride the tea cups though - my only regret of the day...with Tony "out sick" we could have ridden them over and over again. They make Tony so sick he can't even watch us ride 'em!!:crazy2:

I've never seen them do this before - soo cool! And I love Michael's reaction :goodvibes

OMG - he was so cute. I put them in my little zip Pin Trader thing I keep our passes in and every once in a while we had to stop what we were doing, take them out and hold them and then put them back. He still does that to this day!:rotfl:

Yep, saw that one coming. ;)

Yep...You knew it. The pictures came out crappy though...I never did buy them so sadly we have no photographic evidence of our day together...:(

Oh, I know where this is headed...popcorn::

Hey, I resemble this scene! :crowded: :rotfl2:

Oh and I was TOTALLY thinking of you too once the squishing had begun!!! Have I learned NOTHING?!?!?:confused3

Yep! Sure does!!:thumbsup2

:lmao: Way to charm the babes Michael! Too cute!

She was a pushy little thing too...she's going to be a nightmare of a wife to someone some day!!

Great form! :thumbsup2

He was having a great time doing that and then all these people started coming up to us telling him what a good job he did and talking about his AB/CD shirt...he was a hit that day and he ate it up!

Certainly... Guinea pigs are not Italian, as they originate from South America. Neither are they of the pork family; rahter, they stem from the genus Cavia.

Ummmmmm.....yeah. Ok.

There's no "Blank Stare" smilie guy....how about this???:scratchin

Wow, where is everybody today?!

I'm here!!:wave2: Aack...I've actually been working today...:crazy2:

It was kind of freaky for me. I really can't even swim and minus some liquid courage I don't usually get in the water, but I kind of HAD TO...and I was FREAKING OUT inside...trying to look brave...and having to be the FIRST ONE to go?!?!? :scared:

Remember...they can smell fear....

Ok, so I know it sounds crazy, but it was an awesome day/night...and you know when you see "some people" who have a few drinks in them and love everyone - ooh...no wait, here's a good one, who have an epidural and love every one and every thing around them...

THAT's exactly how I felt...That night I was just LOVING EVERYTHING...Ok, the drinks were good, but I honestly can't recall enjoying the "environment around me" so much on a vacation before. It's like they thought of everything...

No...I'm not trying to....:stir: and as much as the Poly has the great pool, the monorail access, etc...for US personally, DVC resorts suited us better I think...:confused3

V's guinea pig response still has my head spinning...

Maybe we should nickname her 'Cliff Clavin'!:lmao:

I can just picture her, sitting at the Cheers bar, and starting in - "...neither are they of the pork family; rather, they stem from the genus Cavia...":drinking1 :joker:

My internet was down all yesterday and most of today  I nearly didn't survive :rotfl2: And you choose to do an extra long post too :rotfl:

Ooh so cute, the littlest things can be the best pixiedust:

We walked all the way in and immediately on our own boat. Yep. Just me, my baby and Captain Jack. We love this ride. And today was no exception. In fact, it was better. DS could see everything from the front seat of our boat and it was like riding a whole new ride for him. He was just thrilled.
Wow lucky you, don't flame me but I just don't get the whole Jack Sparrow thing :confused3

But this ride, with just the two of us, we had a lot of “wiggle” room and the first time Michael put his arms up, he slid across the seat and that scared the pants off him. So he hung on to the bar the whole time, but laughed all through the ride. This time I was on the “Squisher” side and he was the “Squishee”. Note to self, switch sides next time!
So which side is the squishee side? :rotfl2:

He wanted to bring it back to the hotel for Daddy because he might be hungry. Awwww…sweet little guy. I finally convinced him that saving the chicken for Daddy, although very nice of him, wasn’t the best thing to do so he finished it and we were on our way.
Well if Daddy wasn't sick before :lmao:

He had that glazed over look that DH gets a lot. He finally leaned over to me and said he was “sick and tired” of listening to her. It was adorable. I reminded him to be nice and he let out a heavy sigh. Eventually she and her parents were on their way and no sooner did they leave and he said “WOW I thought she’d never stop talking”. Yep…just like his dad!
That's just so cute, selective hearing in the making

At one point he even scolded the people near us for not paying attention to him! When the CM finally convinced him to give up his hula hoop she rewarded him with a half dozen Mickey stickers. What a magical day for him.
He sounds such a character :lmao:

He made an awful big deal about me simply asking whether or not Michael could wear his vest. Is there some kind of issue with that?
He obviously wasn't used to such good manners!

You could just go on the slide with me Mom. Exqueeze me? Baking powder? ME???? On THAT??!??! Turns out the kid had an answer for everything. You go down first Mom. Wait for me at the bottom. See?

Down I went. Screaming like a little school girl the whole way.
So if the DH's play golf in August we're going to BB yeah! :rotfl2:

That’s when I discovered the heated towels…Ahhhhh…I LOVE THIS PLACE.
Will you stop bragging :lmao:

And a Dis'er encounter!!!
Oooh who'd you meet?

My internet was down all yesterday and most of today  I nearly didn't survive :rotfl2: And you choose to do an extra long post too :rotfl:
OMG!!! I would have D-I-E-D!! No internet??? I think I would have made a trip to the nearest internet cafe w/ kids in tow and plenty of toddler provisions! :rotfl:

Wow lucky you, don't flame me but I just don't get the whole Jack Sparrow thing :confused3

I'm actually with you on this one, Jo. I don't quite get it. He's kind of goofy, if you ask me. And the whole "Willy Wonka" character, I just can't get past that! :rolleyes2
Oooh who'd you meet?
Oooh, I missed that... WHO did you meet, Lauralee??? Or is it ... Who DID you meet, Lauralee?? Can I get a ruling here? V??? :hyper:

:moped: :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped:
Running Amuk!

Yeah someone's come out to play, I thought as I'd been away for a day you'd all forgotten me or GASP had better things to do

I KNOW! Real life got in the way of my Dis time today. Maddie was at the Dr. this AM. And Evan's in the back yard eating sand! Yes, that's my child with the sandy lips! :rotfl2:

I called BBB this morning and got Maddie in on the 27th. And had to call Disneyland Dining for mom's bday lunch tomorrow. I get to meet another Dis-er for a croc exchange. I hope I don't forget Flora tomorrow! :p

You are so lucky going to DL all the time, have a great lunch where are you going?

Should we be doing this over on your TR  oh well Lauralee won't mind and anyway I've gotta go to beddie byes so night night, fingers crossed that the internet works tomorrow :thumbsup2

Oooh forgot to say is Maddie OK? and sand never did anyone any harm, have you ever eaten at the beach and you get a bit in your mouth and it grinds between your teeth :scared: So does that mean it's lovely and sunny there? Not fair! It's blowing a gale here and I keep thinking the fence is going down  Right I'm definately going to bed now :wave2:

We're going to try a new restaurant, Cafe Orleans. It's had some decent reviews. We don't like Blue Bayou, it's WAY over priced!

Bwhahaha!!! Hey, Lauralee, we're being chatting on your thread!!:joker:

Good night, Jo. Here's hoping for internet tomorrow!pixiedust:

First off, I have to tell you that I LOVE Michael's AB/CD shirt. That just kills me, and, while I don't know you at all, clearly your sense of humor.

And two, a confession. I own all of the School House Rock videos. I bought them when I was expecting DS 1. My boys get to watch, and I get to sing along (much to their chagrin!)

Finally, Very cool TR!:thumbsup2

Oh, yes, Maddie is fine, thanks for asking. Just a bad bout of allergies.
Oh the weather is beautiful here. Mid 70's a nice breeze! Spring is here, baby! :thumbsup2
My son will put anything in his mouth. After the sand incident, he was walking around on the grass and found a potato chip from the party this weekend. Yup, he picked it up and ate it! :crazy2: Last week, he dipped his cracker in the bird bath! Double :crazy2: ! He's going to be the death of me!:faint:

Hey girls!! I feel so left out!! And Jo - I can't get used to the time difference...you're just going to bed when I'm getting off work...BUT on the upside...you're the only other person I can chat with at 5am! :thumbsup2

How's Maddie? She ok? And did you get all the sand outta Evan!?!? Michael is like a sand magnet...His shoes are filled with it when he gets home from school, it's in his hair, up his nose...:scared:

And you own the videos???? I'm jealous....I'll have to look for them!!!:thumbsup2

Just finished reading your TR. I've been trying to get to it for over a week! I'm also trying to adopt your approach - a kinder gentler me, hopefully not so commando next trip. Ha, who am I kidding?:)
