I know exactly how you felt... we did the whole "take a break" thing using the TGM advice, and I couldn't help but feel we were losing valuable park time. I now know it was the best thing I could have done.

On a lighter note, he had a real good day at school yesterday and didn't "flip any cards" at school yesterday...turns out he was so well behaved cuz he didn't feel good

I had never even thought before to tell him to tell someone if he doesn't feel good at school. He suffered in silence all day and when he got home you could have cooked an egg on his little forehead... Stupid teachers should have known when he was being so quiet that he wasn't feeling well!

His old pre-school teacher in NH was awesome...she knew that when he was quiet that something was wrong. I'd hear, "Michael was really well behaved today. I think he must be coming down with something."

Sure enough...she was right. All the time!

When we got back to SSR, we got off at the Paddock bus stop, which was kind of far away from our building. You may recall we got on the bus at the Congress Park stop, which was pretty much across the street. The Paddock stop was a pretty decent walk, but it was an unbelievably beautiful day and I was dreading having to settle down and take a nap, so I didn’t mind much.

Okay, I'm completely in love with SSR! I totally should have just bought me some DVC points and been done with it. Have you gotten to know any SSR peeps yet? Anyone who might, for instance, wnat to rent me some points?!

Ok, it’s now 2pm. Now what do I do? I decide to give the whole nap thing one more shot and lay back down for my second attempt. I closed my eyes and thought Disney thoughts and when I next opened my eyes it was 3:30!!! WHAT?!?! I NAPPED?!?!?!? And ya know what? I FEEEEEL GRRRRRREAT!!!! How can this be? I went outside and had a butt and a few minutes later DS came outside, also feeling great. “Good nap mom”. AH HA….I’ve seen Oprah talk about having an Ah Ha moment. Well my friends. I just had mine. A nap in the middle of the day, as crazy as it sounds, did us a world of good. This could be a good sign! And stood up, looked around at the resort and it looked like it didn’t disappear or fall apart on me while I slept. Everything was ok. So apparently a nap in the middle of the day is not such a crazy idea at all. Go figure.

Oh the bliss of the Disney nap! I'm so, so glad you all finally got to experience it I'm really hoping to re-institute the Disney nap next trip, but it's been a tough sell lately. Even an afternoon break for pool or general rest time works, though

I took DS’s picture in front of the building and then went over to lady at the height line…I got him ready to take his picture and what’s this? Nope. Not tall enough. They wouldn’t let him ride. Tony said this was the same lady who measured him before we rode TT and this time there was someone with her and she said no. DS was disappointed, as were both of us. I could see it the moment he posed for his picture…look at the way he’s got his head…

Aw, poor little guy! it's so hard to get them to stand just right under those things.

I'm here! Feeling better, though I'm still hacking up a lung. Just couldn't get to the computer all weekend. Lauralee's 100% right - LOTS of cleaning/laundry/homework/shopping to catch up on, plus I had DS, so we needed some quality time, too. Went to the beach yesterday, but it was WAY too windy - I've been exfoliated all over, I swear!

Hey Lauralee! I'm sorry that I'm late to your new TR!!! Please forgive me! I just finished catching up and I'm loving the new kinder, gentler you! I'm impressed! A NAP??? I don't know how you did it?! I have a hard time sitting still when we go back to the room in the afternoons, let alone take a nap! And NO PLANS or ADRs??? Gasp!

Michael is SUCH a cutie! I wouldn't worry too much about him getting into trouble at school at this age. The teachers sound like they're being a bit too strict. I'm sure the 'personal space' and the talking in class thing is just a phase. Conner went through the same thing at Michael's age. It'll get better, you'll see!

I'm glad you got to stay at SSR! Did you guys get a chance to walk to Downtown Disney? We stayed at SSR right after it opened, and really fell in love with the place! Now we can't wait for AKV to open up, too! I'm glad DVC is giving us more choices now, aren't you?

I've been wondering where you are and have been lurking over your way my friend!!

We didn't walk to Downtown Disney this time, but we plan on definitely doing that and maybe an evening boat ride...it's awesome to have the choice! I just wish they had an on-site kids club like the Neverland Club there...it's kind of a tease being so close to DTD with no babysitter

The whole nap thing? It may never work again, who knows, and I had a hard time settling down, but it really wasn't bad...who knows...I could be on to something...Besides, Tony and Michael really needed naps...the old guy and the kid just slow me down so I needed to re-charge their batteries!!
