Another way to keep readers happy and coming back is to make sure you respond to people's posts. We love the interaction and "conversation"- kinda like crack to a poster. ;)

As I mentioned before, I ain’t much of a flier.

After my first marriage ended, I found myself under the wooden bridge after work one warm Spring evening. I had a little fire going in a 55 gallon steel drum I’d found and was cooking dinner. It wasn’t bad. However, I realized at the age of 20, I wasn’t off to a terrific start in life.

I joined the Marine Corps, went through boot camp, and ended up on the street of Panama shootin’ at people for what President George Herbert Walker Bush called, Operation Just Cause.

To get there, we had to fly. Up until this point, the Marines had bused me everywhere, which is just fine by me. I love to see the countryside of America. Especially them big cities!

So here I am, more worried about flyin than live combat. I knew I’d come out ok in the little war we had ahead of us. I was a great shot and had never suffered any physical damage to my body my entire life. Not one broken bone even though I’d been bucked off a horse a hundred times.

A big ol’ Crow Indian buddy of mine, “Big Hungry”, handed me a fistful of peyote buttons while seated on the aircraft. Now this was the first time I’d done anything other than drink beer or whiskey. Well, the buttons worked. I didn’t give a rat poop about flyin no more.

Now fast forward 20 years. I’m married with twin daughters. I sure as heck can’t be popping no peyote buttons now even though my buddy Big Hungry is still doin them (been friends all that time). I’m standing at the gates to board this itty bitty airplane with two itty bitty engines.

I start to get the panics and sweats. I’m shaking, sweating, burpin and lookin God awful. One of the twin daughters (I still can’t tell them apart) tells me “It’s just a plane, daddy”. Yeah right. To her it’s just an airplane. To me it’s a flying cigar tube of death.

I was the last one on the airplane. My wife and twins sat behind me. The two twins on one side, not sure which one was by the window. My wife was across the aisle from them. I was in front of the daughter on the aisle. I can’t remember why I wasn’t seated next to the wife. Really didn’t care at that point.

The airplane backed away from the gate and all hell broke loose.

Holy moley, you are a CRACK UP!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: Half the time I'm sucked in and the other half I'm sure you've got to be making this up because it is so surreal!!! That line about not being able to tell your daughters apart is a hoot! :rolleyes1 You'll have to let us know when you can finally do that. Maybe you need to write their names on their foreheads. ::yes:: I'm sure they'll just LOVE that.

What the heck is a peyote button? :confused3

Can't wait for the next installment! popcorn::

Sir, if you aren't full of it, you really need to sell this to Hollywood!

Also, I recently went to Idaho, and I'm sorry. ;)

I'm sorry. This is just my story. I've been the "fish out of water" my entire life. If you can't believe what I've said so far, you are in for a SHOCK in the upcoming chapters.

I am officially a "Walking Disaster Area" according to everyone that knows of this trip.

Other than this vacation, I live a very normal life. However, I had a lot of wild experiences on this trip.

One example of what's to come: I left the "clam-mo-bile" at NEMO in Epcot in the middle of the ride to get a better a photo of the jelllyfish and they shut the entire ride down and sent the Mickey-Gastapo after me.

That's later though.

I hope you got a great picture of it.:rotfl:

Idaho is really, really beautiful!! We have spent several camping vacations at Priest Lake, and with the right friends and a dry tent, a big campfire and a bottle of good wine, a good time can be had!!!
