I have to say Chan, JOJO would look AMAZING in that Belle dress!!

You're sweet.:) She would be adorable in it, but she's adorable in anything.:goodvibes ;) She was just cranky and overtired last night. I think she has no real concept of what $350 is!!! If I got her that dress I'd have to get Lucy her Jolly Holiday Mary P outfit - so we're talking $700!!! Oh, ya, can't forget that cape which I am sure isn't cheap and have to buy a hoop skirt which is also extra. :sad2: I'd rather stay at the GF for another night with that money.:rotfl: :thumbsup2 This morning Jojo said she wants to bring her Pocahantas outfit. :confused3 Whatever.

She was always thrilled with the outfits you can buy in WDW so this has gotten a bit over the top. I thought those were expensive, lol!

Channing :)

I got crying from Jojo because she MUST HAVE that golden Belle costume for $350 PLUS the cape that isn't included but costs extra.:scared: Well, guess what. ....she's not getting it. :rotfl: It got ugly here about bedtime last night.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: My own wedding dress didn't cost $350. NO WAY am I buying a $350 costume for a little girl to traipse around WDW in, eating Mickey bars and sweating.:rotfl: :rotfl: Geeze.

You know what else is good girly fun.....Lucy even said she'd rather take the $350 costume money and do this....make a doll in Germany. It's great for girls. They start about $150 depending on the outfit. They are the size of AG dolls, but much MUCH better quality and the outfits are to die for. They can wear the AG clothes, but not the shoes. Their feet are chubbier than AG feet. You pick everything from face, eye color, hair, hair style, dress.....my girls LOVE doing this. We have also done the pick a pearl....they do it almost every trip because it's neat. Jojo always gets the monster pearl and they bang the gong and make a deal out of it. That's a fun fairly inexpensive thing to do and they have been getting in better more youthful settings lately.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Hi GF Gals, I am off work today sick  so this is a good way to spend the day on the couch reading the DIS....anywho LIVES you are cracking me up again :lmao: about the dress it sounds like something I would say to my fam. I am glad my daughter is 25 and wouldn't want one of those dresses she would be the same way:laughing:
She is boycotting Disney for awhile (done it too many times) she says we are too obsessed and need to "branch out/try something new" WHY???:confused3 ..yah right she will be singing another tune when she finds out that we are going over T'giving to GF Sugar Loaf! She will prob be hopping on that bandwagon for a couple of days. Hopefully someday I will have a grandbaby (longtime off) and I will spoil her rotten with BBB, dresses, etc....

Last year my mom and I did the pick a pearl at Epcot...oh it was sooo much fun..I had them set it in a plain setting and I have my own chain..I get compliments all the time...my husband thought it was dumb(going to ESPN to catch up on sports is dumb). Consider doing the pick a pearl 'cause the whole experience is fun!:upsidedow
TTFN,

$350 is high, but I know lots of Moms who would pay it in a heartbeat. :rotfl: I am super excited because I found a reversible Giselle (from Enchanted) dress on a website for a British department store. They don't ship to the states, but guess what?! My sister lives in England right around the corner from the store. So guess who is getting the pink AND the blue Enchanted dress and the matching crown for Easter? :goodvibes DD Hannah!!!

I paid $45+shipping for the Minnie one and I was very pleased with it and I got tons of compliments at WDW. Someone offered to buy the bow DD had in her hair that I had made. (I wanted to keep it, of course!)

So much fun to plan the outfits for Disney. What will I do when DD is too big for it?:scared1:

I saw the dolls in the Germany toy shop. DD begged for one, but I told her she had to wait 'til she was 7. Beautiful dolls and outfits, I agree.

Btw, there is an entire thread on the Families Board regarding Disney customs. Many of the women are seamstresses and I believe some will do orders through the DIS ... Not to encourage the spending, :rotfl: but check it out. Tons of pictures for ideas too. I am trying to learn to sew (slowly) and find it fun to look at the pics!

TTFN,

oh, I hope you feel better. This weather is HORRID. I have to go out and I need gas.:scared1: It's a good day to stay in, lay around & get better!!:flower3:

My 17.5 yr old son is the same. He's so been there done that with WDW. Probably with us, too.;) BUt we have gone other places and he claims he had a good time, but all I remember is a lot of his moaning, him sleeping in LATE, and hem on the cell phone w/friends the whole time. I would have rather had to deal with his issues while at WDW.

I think the dresses are just beautiful and good for the lady sewing them. She has a good thing going. :thumbsup2 My girls are far from deprived but I can't see spending that as lovely as the dresses are. I feel like I am being mean especially when some moms "would pay it in a heartbeat". :guilty: Oh well. I'll accept it - I am mean.:rotfl:

Arbonnette, that is great you're learning to sew. My mom was a fabulous seamstress. I grew up with gorgeous clothes and continuous compliments on them. I wish I would have paid attention to when she tried to teach me!!! Oh well....I love to shop.;)

Happy day,

Lives4Disney :)

Kelly, that is SO COOL!:thumbsup2 That was really awesome of you and she definitely deserves the recognition. :wizard:

Praline....OMG...you are bad for me. :rotfl2: So, I go to figure out WHICH item I ordered from that lady and find that I didn't order any from her. I have orders from so many diff people and they are all starting to blur together. I have two hot pink Minnie head tees with names embroidered from one lady, an Eeyore tee and a Kanga/Roo tee for Lu with a coordinating twirly prairie skirt from another along with a Wild Princess tee and Minnie pirate tee and twirly skirt from another, I have Hannah Montana capris and bow from another, Eeyore and Hannah M flip flops and about 10 bows from another, another Eeyore tee for Lu, a diffrerent HM tee for Jo, and another prairie skirt with Eeyore fabric patched in for Lu.....blah blah blah......I am overcooked. Also bought myself two new pairs of Brighton sunglasses, haha. :thumbsup2 THEN the worst part is, when I was scanning that lady's store to see WHAT the heck did I order from her (which I did discover was nothing:rotfl: ) I got crying from Jojo because she MUST HAVE that golden Belle costume for $350 PLUS the cape that isn't included but costs extra.:scared: Well, guess what. ....she's not getting it. :rotfl: It got ugly here about bedtime last night.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: My own wedding dress didn't cost $350. Channing - I soooo agree with you. I feel that I go over the top enough for the kids without $350 dresses (times 2 of course, can't get one dd without the other). DH is really good about financing our Disney trips but I think that one might make him go "over the top". I'd rather book a nice mommy and me GF spa day!

Hi everyone!

I've really enjoyed reading your posts and appreciate all of the information you've passed on. It's really helped me to get excited for our first stay at the GF! :yay: I've loved reading every page of this thread and found myself laughing out loud at some of the posts!

Lives4, I'm right with you on the $350 dress! :thumbsup2 As beautiful as it is, I couldn't justify it. And believe you me, I can justify just about anything. :rolleyes1

Anyway, thanks everyone for all of your help!

Robyn and NJPluto - Gosh thanks for the reassurance that I am not a wicked meanie mom. I totally understand, NJPluto, about how you can justify just about anything, haha!!:goodvibes I hear ya on that one. ;) Especially Disney fun stuff. Ya Robyn, it IS a killer when you have to buy TWO $350 dresses.:rotfl2: This morning, though, Jo was happy to be Pocahantas AGAIN. She loves that costume...I think it was a bit of overtiredness last night but of course I felt a tiny bit of mom guilt.

Kelly, I listened to the podcast and you sounded great!!! So composed and cool as a cucumber!! Great job!!!:thumbsup2

Welcome to the GF FAQ thread!
RPC stands for the ROYAL PALM CLUB!! It is the main building concierge levels room. The main building is only concierge level rooms, they have a special cjeck in area and a lounge where you can relax and they have food and drinks.

Thanks! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be able to upgrade when I'm there. Happy to pay for it, even! When I booked the vacation, I was being conservative. Ah well. Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be great. I'm on page 30 of this thread and I've already gotten such great stuff that I didn't have after months of research and planning. Like the cabana rental and the Limo service. DH and I decided to splurge on that.

51 days to go!

You are checking in the day after I check out :goodvibes These boards, especially this one, have more information than any other website by far and it is always current!!! :thumbsup2

The cabanas are awesome. I loved it. We got one for the day in July it was so nice to be able to sit and still see the kids and relax by the pool. DH could watch TV and chill. Have a drink. I loved it.
I am nevering getting my kids cells. I know they are only 8 and 3 now but they seem so annoying !!

Hi GF lovers!
One of those elusive 20% pin codes showed up at my parents house in my maiden name today. I have been married for 10 years!!! :rotfl2: Anyway, we had to push our trip back one day to use it but it saved us $600! (Thank goodness it is only a DS at our house or I would be spending that money on those dresses!!!)
Take Care!
Kristin

That is awesome!! Kinda crazy, but still good! :thumbsup2

Maybe there's still hope for the rest of us out here. What date did you have to book by??

I went to Algonquin Commons today. It was EMPTY!!! :thumbsup2 Honestly, I have not ever seen it like that. It was nice. I just went to Limited Too but I saw the new Ulta. I am too intimidated by make up to go in there alone.:rotfl:
