OMG!!! I almost NEVER fly United - I had not even heard about that hideous rule. We fly SWA almost exclusively. We are WAY north and Ohare is closer, but for the rates and service (ontime, safety) I feel great about SWA. If not SWA it's AMerican. I wonder if they have that same AWFUL rule! ??? Wow. First that 50lb limit and now charging for a second bag!!?!?!? Geeze. I am really pretty bummed. What's next?

Thansk for all the work you do keeping the info up-to-dateand at the beginning of the thread. I come here looking for info that I know I read on a previous post but it's sometimes very hard to find the particular post since I have to scroll through so much *chatting*! Not that there's anything wrong with that; I'm just saying it does make it harder for the 'non regulars' to find the informational posts.
) I also feel like this is the only thread I consistantly post on & I do help answer questions, in spite of the chit chat in between. We have a great group of knowledgeable people here on this thread and are all GF fans and we're all very willing to help anybody that comes over and has questions. We're not WDW or GF employees, just people that enjoy that place....why should we sit here and stare at our computer screens just hanging out quietly and waiting for a new question or post so we can be at service? We make it fun, have met some fellow GF Dissers while at the GF, and it's more a friendly team effort here. 
Why all the fuss?? It's just fun & it's also helpful. I have even gone thru and found previous posts/pics/phone numbers etc for people and linked the info if somebody needs the help. Not a big deal. I think it's a nice thread and I think most of us regulars agree. If you ask a question here it gets answered.....unlike several other threads out there.
It goes into effect May 4th (or 5th?). We have never flown SW since we are North too and Midway is SO FAR!!!! We like those 7am flights so we can get down there early and hit the parks running! Looks like we will be flying AA this year too unless they follow suit.... I can't even imagine trying to pack for 9 days in one suitcase

I am not an expert (YET!), but I am taking my DD5 there on Thursday evening (6:25 ressie), and I will be sure to let you know what I think. DD is well-behaved at restaurants, so I think she will be fine ...
OK ... so we have been at the GF for less than one day, and I must say I am absolutely in love!!!
We arrived yesterday on the Magical Express bus and were greeted as we stepped off the bus by a CM who took us directly to our room, 4417. The CM greeted by DD by name, told her Happy Birthday, and DD was thrilled. We got to the room and balloons were waiting for her with an autograph book and Tink pen and a card signed by Cinderella. Mickey confetti was sprinkled on the dresser and nighstand. DD was sooo excited.
Today we are headed to the MK ... If anyone wants me to find out anything over here, please let me know! I am trying to figure out how to post pics, so hopefully I will have some up this evening.

that they were going to be refurbed? Does anyone know approximately when that will be or if they are actually going to do them. We had reserved them on two separate days for our upcoming April trip and was just curious. TIA

to alicnwondrln for keeping it up to date!! ) The plain ones seemed OK to me (I know the chairs are different and you don't get any of the ammenities, but why make them look like the rentals if you aren't going to charge for them )
Before I realized what the nasty smell was, I kept looking around thinking "is that ME?" THANK G*d not!! They are mildewy and smell like BO. Ick. I thought the floor coverings and the curtains of the cabanas, even, just looked really trashed. Not really impressive or anything. I honestly don't .....the FaQs are all easy to find at the very front. They poster that raised the chitchat "problem" hasn't posted in months - it would be great if she were here more to join in the chit chat , lol....it's us chit chatters that keep this thing alive. 
Ditto to what every has said so far about the thread. I'm only a semi regular, but full time GF lover!!! I also think we really keep the chit chat to a minimum, but our thread is so long because it is such a friendly thread and everyone knows if you come here to ask a question it will be answered promptly!!
Channing- you and I are practically neighbors!! We live in LITH!! (Back to the Bare Minerals discussion last week, don't waste your time with the Ulta on 14- go to the new one at The Commons!!)
Regarding the comment about the cabanas- I'm not sure what would even need to be refurbished. Maybe some new cushions or something, but it is loaded with all you need and then some!! (There is a portable A/C unit out there for goodness sakes!! That alone makes it worth it!!

Kristin!! OMG! That is wild you're in LITH. I hate the commons!!!!!!!!!! We are on the NE side of CL - almost Prairie Grove so it's a cruise. I was just at Justice this weekend and it was packed. I discovered Justice in Johnsburg today and there is an Ulta up there, too!! My neighbor was going to go with me to the 14 one today but she is sub teaching last minute. Thanks for the heads up though on 14. Bummer.
I am thinking they will make all cabanas rentals.

Sorry you don't care for the Commons, but anything is better than Spring Hill!! We try to do Deer Park more, but even that is quite a drive too!I think they should turn them all into rentals... I imagine in the summer months those thngs are hard to come by. Although when we were there at the end of August the other rental was empty, but both "free" cabanas were in use.... I think I was more surprised by the word "refurbished" to describe it!! I am all for new cushions!! Hopefully we'll get answer soon as to what it all entails...

It's just far for me and always SO crowded....and that darn Justice store always messes up my stuff and I have to go back and straighten it out w/them!!!! I have lived around here or in DuPage Co my whole life....now back in the country. I grew up in the sticks in Woodstock & don't like all the build up
