One other cake question. DH's birthday is Feb 11. We will be there 1-9 so I was thinking of having a cake made for him on one of our last days.

Do you they do tow mater cakes? :lmao:
Being a "man" that has to be his favorite star of Disney!

I figured they did the typical spray paint type cake as I have seen them do for other characters but I was thinking of something extra special and not your typical flat birthday cake.

Do they handle special request such as these?
Also anyone have any cute ideas to ask them for? hehe
As this is for an adult (hubby) who has a wonderful sense of humor ... funny/ redneck tow mater type ideas are what I am looking for.

You would need to call the bakery at the GF, or the cakehotline.
Cake hotlines # is 1-407-827-2253.

I will also post this number back on the pages with the cakes and the DIS cake thread.

I can add photos of the rehabbed Royal Palm Club lounge taken October 2007:

Ladies...

I can always count on you guys for a pick me up! The new thread is wonderful and I can not wait till this evening when I am not at work to savor all the pictures and info etc.... THANK YOU ALL...

Channing... all though not GF related I think you should post the picture of your e-bay purchase... it seems so fitting the essence...

I am once again going to try and post some pictures from our stay in September 2007... a garden view room but I guess we got a slight upgrade as we actually had a view of the marina and monorail. I loved the view. The room was a rehab room.... and oddly had no wallpaper on the walls which I did not like at all. The bathroom was not redone, from what I could tell except for installation of new shower curtain rod. The bath area could have used a litle sprucing up.

I did like being on the ground floor, it was also at the end which made it very accessible and it was nice not to have to wait for elevators etc. The laundry was a couple of doors down which I have to say I used and did like having it so convenient.

Love the new updated thread and all the beautiful pics!

Quick question: do the in-room fridges have a freezer section? MIL wants to bring her freezable knee thingy to "ice" her knee if it hurts, so I said I'd ask the experts! We've never had or requested a fridge while at the GF, so I need help with this one!

Thanks!

:sunny:

I think my question got lost in the shuffle...anyone?

Thanks!

Thanks again...

You all have me so excited for our short upcoming trip 12/13 - 12/16 at GF.

This will only be our second trip ever to DW and GF and I think you all have turned me into a GF addict!! Maybe one day I will even get to experience a tower room or conceirge in the main building... but for now I am so happy just to be able to go back and experience the splendor of the GF and especially at XMAS!!

Oh.. Channing.. I know I ma going to have to buy one of those gingerbread houses... do tell any words of wisodm on how to carry it home on the plane? Do they have bubble wrap... or should I bring some?

Best!

This is a great question! We're flying this time and I didn't even think about how to get the gingerbread house home!:scared1:
Lives4Disney, we need your expertise!:)

Minniesota, is that ham and turkey I see during the afternoon setup with the dips and chips? They have never served them all the years I have been going, but find it a very nice addition!

Magical

Thanks!

I didnt notice a freezer but I do know that my DH cranked the fridge up and we had frozen water on the top shelf and little ice crystals in the soda! That is the way I like it!:goodvibes

Re: Freezer in refrigerater.

I'm curios too! :confused3 My son is a type 1 diabetic and I need to freeze ice packs for the plane ride home to keep his insulin cold.

I found this cake on the DIS cake thread.

I think the notes next to this said it was a mad hatter cake.

Holy Moses, that cake is awesome!

Thanks for all your replies about the fridge - Alicnwondrln, I just went back and realized that I had somehow missed that pic of the fridge - thanks! And thanks to Minniesota for posting it - very helpful!

tete01830, thanks for the info - it's what MIL needs to know exactly. It should get cold enough on the shelf, then, for her icepack.

Hi, guys!! The girls had off today so we were out having fun all day and I feel like I missed you!:goodvibes

COOL CAKE pics, Kelly!!!!! I love that fun cake! I wonder what they had to request to come up with that?? Nobody at PD that I EVER talked with would offer any creative suggestions and even if I went outside their boundaries regarding how many strawberries on a plate or adding truffles to mix with the strawberries they acted like I was really pushing it, lol.:rotfl:

Never say Never and Princesses
.....the gingerbread houses.....they have boxes that you can carry (kind of like Build a Bear boxes with the handle at the top - they did last year anyway....) We ate ours, lol, because with all the junk we schlep there was no way we could handle it or an extra carryon. :sad2: The gingerbread isn't thick and hard and crunchy, it's more soft and breadlike and lined in chocolate on the inside, so it's delicate. Getting it home would be tricky, but I am sure where there's a will there's a way! Probably on your lap and then at your feet when possible.

Minniesota, love the great updated RPC pics! :thumbsup2

NeverSNever - Loved your Conch pics, too!!! BUt WHAT is up with those blank walls??!!!

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

Are all the rooms like that now? If that's the case I guess they'll be painting more often. Why would you paint walls such a light color in a hotel?:sad2:

I cant stand the white walls when I look at the pics of the tower room i had in July and what they lok like now in Tetes pics I like Julys better. The colors were brighter and the walls were a light blue where there was no paper. To have them white they are gonna be a MESS and DIRTY and they are gonna have to repaint them. They are also to bare for me.

I agree about the white walls, too.

I also can't understand why RPC still has that little piece of furniture under the t.v. in the childs area. It also looks bare with those empty shelves..if its safety they are concerned about for the little ones, they shouldn't have anything there at all, or maybe they should try a pretty hutch, it would look alot better.

Hi everyone! You all are doing a great job with the new GF FAQ!!! Thanks for starting it, Kelly! I don't think that I have any other GF pictures to share that haven't already been posted!!! LOL! :rotfl:

Thanks again! :grouphug:
-Michelle

P.S. Have a great time in WDW, Channing! (I can't believe your trip is almost here!!! :yay: ) Take LOTS of pictures for the new FAQ!!! :goodvibes
