Frances999, the Cypress Suite is located in Conch Key, as is the Weikiwa Suite (I probably didn't spell that correctly). I’ve stayed in both of those. There is supposedly one more two-bedroom suite in Conch Key but I forget what its name is (it's located on the first floor).

As to the suites in the main building, I know there are a few. I forget their names but one is called the Walt Disney Suite (that's pretty easy to remember). I can't remember if that was the suite that was showcased on the Travel Channel (I think it was).

I'm happy to hear that the concierge put you through to the Convention Services folks. I hope whatever sort of function you plan, it is wonderful (the Grand certainly knows how to throw a party). Please keep us posted. It sounds like your vacation planning is finally on the right track -- what a wonderful feeling to have.

:earseek: I was told it was in the Main Building when I made the reservation. As soon as they re-open I'll be straight on the phone. I remember the CM telling me it was the 'Cypress Suite' so I am pretty sure that I have the right one, but it looks like I may be in Conch Key and not the main building. It looks lovely but after being told it was in the main building I am now a little disappointed and worried. My rate was $2215/night + tax in the holiday season, is there anywhere I can tell by price which suite I have reserved?

:sunny: I'm just trying to work my head around the array of different options that were explained to me when I was talking to convention services! They certainly offer a lot!

Thanks again, Janet

10 years ago we stayed in a huge suite in, I think Sago Cay but based on what Janet said, I guess it was Conch...It was 2 bedrooms on either end and between them a huge room with living/dining/kitchen. The best part - and something I assume you can't get w/ the main bldg. suites- was a large patio looking out over SSL and, of course, The Castle.princess: The CM who walked with us to the room told m y DH (then my DFiance) that Diana, Princess of Wales, and her boys had stayed thereprincess: :earseek: princess: ) Anyway, if this is the suite you have, I don't think you will be disappointed. I hope you won't be...

$2215 is a "B2" suite, located on the 5th floor of the Main Building. There are three of these suites, two with a courtyard pool view and one with a theme pool/wedding pavilion view.

In Sago Cay, this suite is the Cape Coral Suite and in Conch Key, this suite is the Everglades Suite. Very, very nice suites!

Thanks, Liz. That suite sounds wonderful. I asked the CM I spoke to about it and she seemed to think it was the Cape Coral Suite located in Sago Cay that you stayed in. It sounds truly magical!

I called them today to enquire about exactly what I had reserved for Christmas and apparently I don't have The Cypress Suite at all  - either I wrote it down and got all muddled up and by mistake thought it was that suite which I had when I was being told the options, or the CM I spoke to when making the reservation was wrong (probably me getting confused LOL ;) )

Anyway, it is definitely a 2 bedroom main building suite we have and the wonderful CM I spoke to confirmed that it would definitely have a Magic Kingdom view. If only Disney would send confirmations overseas  I did ask and she said she would see if they could as it was a suite booking. I always prefer to have things in writing!

Atleast my mind is at ease now and I can get on with even more planning! I can't wait for the trip, but I, being an obsessive planner, enjoy the planning nearly as much!

Oh no  so it won't have a MK view as I was told? It's just not my day.....

As soon as I read "Cape Coral Suite" I knew that was it!! It was so nice...:flower1:
Frances - I hope you end up getting an MK view in the end. Somehow, I don't think you're going to be disappointed:cool:

I've caused a bit of chaos at Disney! Nobody really knows what I have reserved  . The CM I spoke to confirmed my rate was $2215/night but then I asked if it was a "B2" suite and he said that it was not a "B2" suite and that it would definitely have a Magic Kingdom view as this was mentioned on my reservation page on the computer. He said he was going to investigate what is going on because he doesn't really know what's happening as there are a few 'blank fields' in my reservation   . He said he would call me back, so I am waiting with anticiaption for the phone to ring and it to be Disney!

Should I be worried, that not even Disney know what suite I have reserved? How could this happen?

Liz, thanks for your comemnts. I'm sure I won't be disappointed it's just after all the saving up we did to make this the trip of a lifetime it is a bit worrying not knowing what we might end up with. I wished I had reserved the Cape Coral suite now!

Frances999 -
first of all, no, i would not be worried if i were you..
i'm sure they'll straighten it out..
second, why aren't you getting your written confirmations???.
we get them and we're a lot further overseas than you are....
third, i wouldn't worry....i'm sure they'll straighten it out (yes, i know i said that already, but just to make sure...;)

If you can get the room type code (B1, B2, BC, BD, BN, BW, BU, BS, etc), I'd be able to tell you exactly where it is located at. But, $2215+tax holiday season does match the price of the B2 suite. :)

Frances - I think you're doing the right thing by "staying on it", although I'm sure your phone bills are adding up. Or are you emailing them?
I would trust what a couple of the experts on these boards have said, personally, re. which suite you have. I hate when there is confusion on the resort's end. However, so long as you have a suite reserved - w/ the correct # of bedrooms - I would try and E-X-H-A-L-E and trust that everything is in order. :earsgirl: If you can live without an MK view then you should be happy with the view you get - whatever it may be. I think every inch of the resort is beautiful. Are the other suites all booked during your dates? If not, perhaps you can switch. At the rate you're paying :earseek: seems like you could have your choiceprincess:
Good luck to you~

A few days ago I started my trip report. For those of you who are interested in what it takes to plan a special event at Walt Disney World, you might want to take a peek.

I will fill my trip report with all sorts of details regarding what I went through during the planning of my family’s private dinner party at the Grand Floridian Resort’s Summerhouse patio and beach area. So far I have shared quite a few aspects of that planning process and hope to share more as time allows. Click here to view my trip report.

Once I’m done with the planning process, I will begin the bulk of my trip report. At that point you will learn about the wonderful dinner party that the Grand Floridian’s Convention Services folks put together for my family and guests. It was truly a magical evening.

Does anyone know how big the tubs are in the jacuzzi/honeymoon rooms? Are they a single tub or built for 2. You'd think since it's a honeymoon room it would be for 2. I've read the views are great from these rooms

Don't know... that is what we have reserved...

Bumping b/c I'd like to know too!

Here is a site that has pictures of the actual tubs that are in the room. They look like 2 person tubs. floor plan

To me this would be the Honeymoon Suite size compared to the rest. Check them all out though.

We're going back to the GF!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We enjoyed our stay so much this past May that I just reserved our rooms starting the Friday after Thanksgiving. The CM (Mushu), if you can believe that name, said Lagoon View was all that was available.

I'm going to keep calling to see if anyone cancels for RPC. I need 2 rooms. If it's not meant to be then we will still be thrilled with LV.

We are going to check out some of the restaurants this time. We only got to the Tea Party and The GF Cafe for breakfast on our last visit.

I can't wait to see my mother's face when she sees the GF decorated for Christmas. She was stunned at how beautiful it was in May. Boy, is she in for a surprise.:p

Thanks for listening,

Lori

Hi everyone,

We have just booked a RPC room for October. I am so excited. We have stayed in a garden view before but never RPC.

Anyway, my question is which view to request. I know it is not guarnteed but we would like to request a view of the castle. When I made the reservation the cast member did not know much about the views. He said that he would make a note but I don't think the view is actually listed as castle view. I decided to ask the experts here what I should ask for on the reservation. Will simply having castle view be enough? Is this view called something else that I should put down? I hope all of this makes since.

Also, I have seen a listing of the morning offerings in the RPC lounge but no list of offerings for the other servings throughout the day. Could someone please list what they have offered at the RPC throughout the day.

Thank you so much for all of your help.

Myra
