triplefigs, just had to comment on your adorable family! I bet your daughter is truly the princess of the family! I know when our baby girl was born I lost my *queen* status! She rules the roost around here!

Thanks so much. Yes, she is our princess and is spoiled rotten. Although the boys don't suffer at all either! :rotfl:

And your DD is just precious. It's so much fun having a girl! And I always enjoy watching your pictures change. I like the new ones you added.

What a great idea!

And putting the frindge under the sink is a space saver too. Did you have enough electrical outlets then?

Thanks!

Having Bell Services store them helped a lot (we had 9 pieces of luggage including carry ons). we just called them on our last night, and they brought them to our room so we could pack.

There were 2 outlets on each end of the sink. The fridge took one, so we had 3 left at the sink (used 1 outlet for a night light). we also took a surge protector and plugged it in by the table for the cell phone chargers, lap top. Made a huge difference.

What views are available with concierge Deluxe rooms? Can you get a Castle view with Deluxe rooms?

And does anyone have floorplans available? This is for a friend looking to book the GF.

Thanks!

You know what? I am not even sure what kind of room I booked in RPC. I will have to wait for the confirmation to arrive. I just asked for RPC in the main building.

the deposit was $691.30USD. anyone know which room I booked? I didn't realize there were deluxe and standard in RPC

The SL is cozy, same food offerings, closer to the boat launch, and not as busy as the main lobby since only people with a SL key can come inside. It is a great way to experience concierge and you will love it. We have small children and they thought it was special to always have a treat to get when we were coming and going from the resort. My DH and I, though we are not really drinkers, did enjoy snagging a "to go" cup of wine on our way out in the evenings after the children (and us!) had napped. I think you made a good move staying SL in the summer and RPC at Christmas. While SL is great and you'll not be missing anything in the summer, I would think (though I have not personally experienced it) that RPC would worth every penny for the Christmas atmosphere. Two GF trips - both concierge - you CAN NOT go wrong!!! Have fun!! :)

Thanks so much for the info! The "to go" wine sounds good to me! Another poster said SL was great also because you could grab snacks/drinks while at the pool instead of having to go all the way upstairs to RPC. I think this is the best choice for us for June. I was afraid we might miss being in RPC but since we'll be staying there again in December I think we'll be fine!
I've got to stop being so wishy washy and just get the trips booked!

Just remember that glassware cannot be taken outside. Make sure to ask a lounge hostess for a non-breakable cup or plate to take stuff to go.

awww thanks for the sweet compliments triplefigs! Those babies are my life. I just love having a princess daughter, but my little guy is the sunshine in my life! :sunny:

**okay back to GF talk**

I'm really enjoying everyone's input and I'm getting more and more excited about our trip! :cool1:

Silly question....my parents are coming with us and my dad wants to be sure he can easily get his cup of coffee in the morning before we head off to the parks. VERY big deal! I'm assuming that the fast food type restaurant there (is it Gasparilla?) would have this, but I was told that I need to check! Do they have those refillable mugs, too? That would make dad SUPER happy!

Too funny! All these "important" things that need to be taken care of before we officially book our trip!

Thanks again everyone! :earsgirl:

Oh I'm SURE they have coffee in the morning- available somewhere... probably many places. They have that available in the morning at the values, so surely they will have it at GF. :) No worries... :)

Oh and PS. thanks for the posts answering my question about the time to leave. Because of your posts (and I agree with you reasoning on the matter also!) I changed our time for pickup at GF to head for the port to an earlier time... 11:30am probably wouldn't have allowed us to take advantage of lunch offerings at the concierge lounge ANYWAY... and getting earlier to the port sounds like the best thing to do. Thanks!

Thanks Tyler! We always made sure we took a styrofoam cup when getting drinks on the go last month at GF!

Gasparilla's has plenty of coffee and refillable mugs! Have a great trip!

Triplefigs, I have all the GF room layouts on my homepage, http://home.comcast.net/~tammimcmanus/grand_floridian.htm . You're not going to have a direct MK view from the deluxes, but I'm pretty sure that from the balcony, if you look to the left, you'll see it.

Ojo, perhaps a recent non-concierge visitor can confirm this, but during the summer, complimentary coffee stations were set up in the ground floor lobby of each building. It was very convenient to go down and grab a cup in the morning.

Still confused, guys... please read my post 1466. Do you know what type of room I booked? :confused3

Cass, unless you specifically requested a deluxe room, I would say that that you are booked in standard concierge. The deluxes are an upgrade and cost about $10 more per night. There is also a maximum occupancy level of 4 guests. Do you have the GF concierge phone number and e-mail address? They can easily look up what you have booked and you can make a view request with them.

Hi Tammi, out trip is for 2 moms & two DDs (13) I was hoping for queens & a daybed. Would deluxe offer this?

How many times have you requested this room (standard RPC) and gotten the wonderful castle view. I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this!

We had a fabulous castle view last month at RPC! I had our TA request it when she made the ressie and then I emailed IPO to reiterate it about a week before our trip. I also politely asked again if our request had been honored when we checked in at the concierge desk. I hope you get it!

Cass, I have a family of 5, so I cannot book the concierge deluxe rooms as they either have 2 queens or a king - no daybed.

If you just booked main building concierge, you most likely have a regular room and they have 2 queens and a daybed. You have to ask specifically for concierge deluxe and it costs just a bit extra a night.

Anybody know what the concierge deluxe views are?? I am kicking myself that I didn't opt for this room when I went in August with my 3 kids. Should have tried it then!! Maybe next time..... :sunny:

Traci, I have done the main building 4 times and requested MK view everytime and always had it. Once, we moved after the first night to a MK view room, though. I am crossing my own fingers for that view again in March. :wizard:
