Trip....I got the dog bones (without sprinkles...eclairs should not be crunchy) for my brother....$14 I think. And for Mom got a silk screened plate with an assortment of truffles....don't know the price on that one.

Thinking of getting something for me on Monday...they have a choclate champagne bottle with chocolate champagne glasses filled with truffles....will be celebrating a divorce from a very abusive marriage.

Thanks for the poop count...will keep you updated on the amenities! Oh...I found out that is the "proper" name for these little surprises!

Oh....private dining recommends that even if you set this up with Concierge that you double check with them...they say sometimes the requests slip through the cracks....I would say at this time Caroline in Private Dining has the most experience with this kind of thing....maybe J2K can let us know who is BEST!

Anyone want to see the word document I just made with our itinerary?

Let me know and I will cut and paste!

Sounds yummy. I like the idea of the champagne glasses for us. Still need something fun for the kids, but my DS doesn't like chocolate (I think he must be an alien!) :rotfl:

I'm glad you are out of an abusive relationship. It must still be hard, but you definitely did the right thing.

Definitely follow through on all of your requests. I have found it is always better to be safe rather than sorry, and that way if anything gets messed up, I have only myself to blame (it makes for a better vacation if I am mad at myself instead of at others). ;)

I forgot to ask...there isn't any actual alcohol involved is there? Mom has been a friend of Bill for about 23 years now!

Also planning on having the fridge and mini bar cleaned out before we arrive....just think that is tacky for Mom to have around!

J2K....I expected some type of remark on my obssessive compulsive planning!

Meezers, have no fear, no alcohol was found. The bottle, while heavy, was hollow. It was made entirely out of chocolate.

Poohangel, I have seen folks post that the Bakery requests at least 48-hours notice. I would call earlier than that, however, just to be certain of their rules. By the way, have a wonderful anniversary (and vacation).

thanks for the advice and the wishes.

I have placed photos of Room 4401 into an on-line photo album: click here. That was the room that my family stayed in during our summer vacation.

Room 4401 is located in the Main Building, on the 4th floor. It is found all the way at the end of the hallway that overlooks the marina. The room has a Magic Kingdom view (a.k.a., Cinderella Castle view).

My family really enjoyed our stay in that room. During last year’s fall vacation, we stayed in the room directly one floor below it (Room 4301). I hope to post photos of that room soon.

By the way, in my photo album you will find all sorts of obscure photos (I gotta keep my image up ;) ). There are lots of photos of the wall-mounted hair dryer (including its clock & night-light), lots of photos of the resort mug (both mug designs), and lots of photos of the Wishes fireworks show that were taken from my balcony. Enjoy.

I have just gotten off the phone with GF Private Dining.

Marcy says that the Private Dining menu is undergoing renovation and she will email me the new one when it is finalized in a couple of weeks.

I will post here ASAP!

PS....got that small chocolate box ordered!

Did they say how long they thought it would be? How much was the small box?

I tried to book a suite in SL today for 12/06/06 - 12/10/06 ( I believe it is code B4) and the CM was unable to access this code. She could not get any access to the suites in SL but was able to book the outer lodges and the main building??? Any suggestions? I ONLY want SL, because of it's proximity to the pool and dock.

J2K (hope you don't mind the shortening of your name....although in my head you are the GF Goddess)....just went through your pictures.

Please don't take this the wrong way...but I am sure you are on some sort of VIP list at the GF....but if I get a room half as nice as this....do you suppose the Concierge People are used to people just bursting into tears?!

I believe BN and BD room codes are also available in Sago Cay. According to my room layouts BN & B4 have the exact same bed setup (2 queens and 1 queen sleeper sofa), while BD has 1 king bed and the queen sleeper sofa. Personally, my first choice would be a suite in the main building. I love the ambience of the concierge lounge there. Second choice, would be view and for that, I'd choose either Sago Cay or Conch Key. Both have amazing MK views and because the buildings are on the edge of the property, it just seems more private to me. Conch Key is a stones throw from the dock and really not more than a 2 minute walk to the pool. I would say Sago Cay is also about 2 minutes to the pool and another minute to the dock.

As to convenience to the concierge buildings (Sugar Loaf & Main), Conch Key is closest to Sugar Loaf. As a suites guest, concierge benefits are included. Sago Cay will put you sort of right in between Sugar Loaf and the Main Building. Sugar Loaf is great if you are by the pool and want to grab a cool drink or a snack. In the evenings, I like the main building because you can sit in the concierge lounge, sip a glass of wine while listening to the GF Orchestra play on the balcony below you.
