Just checking in again before I leave! I've been packing on and off today - between errands, making a meal for the teachers, running kids to activities and stressing about the dog! But I'm getting there.

I am trying to keep my expectations in check. This is a really celebratory trip as some of you may remember. We are taking my sister for her 50th birthday and my niece for her graduation from nursing school. My dad, who LOVED Disney, just passed away in February and my niece was such a trooper in helping care for him at home between her classes. He and my mom were supposed to stay in RPC with me and DH last December but we had to cancel since he declined pretty quickly.

So this is really a trip that celebrates life and all that it can be. My dad always said he loved WDW because you could just forget about the rest of the world. We will have the greatest time and dad, you'll be right there with us!

I'll be in touch, fellow Disney and GF friends! And I promise a trip report and pictures!

I'm all teary from your post! Your dad sounds like a great guy and you sound like a lovely daughter. Hope you all have a magical trip!:)

Thanks for the link. I think that means all outer buildings will be done as soon as SL is finished.

What about Sago???? :confused3 :confused3 Don't forget Sago! :goodvibes

Cinderella Fan was just there about 2 wks ago and it wasn't done.....Anybody know about Sago's rehab schedule??? That's the one I requested for Nov., but I think DS17 would prefer to have the Ipod dock and the flat screen TV etc.

Can i bring my little dog with me to this Hotel? ::MinnieMo

Dogs are not allowed to stay in the room at ANY Disney resort hotel. They have kennels all across property, pets have to stay there. It is required that you come in every so many hours to walk and take care of them. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: No. I would love to bring my Newfie baby, she doesn't bark or whine or make a sound for that matter and she is perfectly and absolutely trained and even more well mannered than most kids. But, nope. No dogs allowed.:guilty:

There is a kennel over near the TTC. I have been in there as the lost and found is also located there....It looks cute, but I've heard mixed reviews......it's nothing fancy and you have to go and walk and visit your dog several times a day. I think that would make it harder for the dog to have their family keep showing up and then keep leaving again. Not for my baby. She gets the Winnie the Pooh suite at Kamp Kountry Kennels.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry for the bad news.

Hey Everyone!!!

I was SOOOO excited to find out earlier today that we have been upgraded to a 2 Bedroom Suite for part of our stay next week!!

On my confirmation it says this...

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Outer Lodge - 2 Bedroom Suite - Club Level (BQ)

Is there anything that anybody can tell me about this type of room?? Or maybe even pictures??

I just can't believe it!! :woohoo:

While that would be a totally awesome upgrade, you might want to double check it first. When the GF added the new "Theme Park" view rooms, they didn't create new codes. Instead, they re-used some suite codes. I just bring it up, because a few other people thought they got suite upgrades, only to find out it was just the way they now code the MK views.

Just in case though, here's the layout:

Ok, I have the Private Dining phone number and I know what I want to order. I keep forgetting to ask how far in advance to place the order. We are about a month out now. I like to get as much done in advance but I wasn't sure what they prefered.

Thanks!!!

Most items only need 48 hours advance notice or less. I probably wouldn't put my request in much sooner than 2 or 3 days before we arrive. I'd just be afraid that too far in advance and it would get lost in the system.

Thanks Tammi - that is what I was thinking but wanted to make sure.

Tomorrow booking our Dec '08 birthday trip - this year Poly, next year back to GF :)

Have stayed at GF just once in 2004 and had the most incredible room in Boca Chica....but this time it will be a Garden View. So, the age old question...any particular building to request?

Any and all suggestions most welcome!

Thanks ever so much! :)

I was actually told straight out that they were upgrading us to a 2 Bedroom Suite.

When I called today to pay our room balance, the CM said that my reservation, which was originally just a GV room with the Passholder rate had Auto-Cancelled yesterday due to non-payment. I was like..HUH?? I paid MORE than the deposit amount..there is NO way my reservation should have cancelled!!

She put me on hold for a while, and came back and said that management had upgraded us to the 2 Bedroom Suite. I asked her several times if she was sure!!

She even gave me her name, and the Guest Services managers name to me to write down in case there were any problems. She said the GS Manager called the GF directly himself and got everything straightened out.

On the new confirmation they sent the "new" total for the 4 nights was around $7,500!!

I explained everything here...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1395059, last page

You make sure you keep all the info you were given, including the GS manager's name. This happened to us once, and when we checked in, we had been charged the full amount for the upgrade.:scared1:

It took days, including some after we had left, to get it straight. Luckily I had enough credit on my card to cover it.
