I'm getting everything ready for our trip, leaving in less than 24 hours!

If there is anything you want me to take a picture of, let me know. But, you'll have to tell me exactly what it is, since this is our first time at GF.

Take whatever pics you think we would love!! Have a terrific time!!!!!!!

That is the sweetest offer, but we would hate to take your vacation time taking photos for us. Snap a bunch of what you like and then we can ask questions when you return and maybe you'll have the photo to match.

Have a wonderful trip.

I hope you have a great time! I look forward to hearing your thoughts about your first time at GF! Our first GF stay is in Dec. Have fun!!

Which bldgs have the Theme Park View? Anyone have any pictures to share of the view? Honestly, which would be better for us (monorail) wise: GF TPV vs Poly LV? I am having a fit trying to decide. All that is available with AAA is either SL or GV. But I can't take a chance that DS can't see the monorail.

The side of SL that faces the marina would have monorail views, I am almost positive - but they'd be in the distance around Sago to the MK. Are you looking for a direct, close up view Denise, or just the monorail in the distance???

I think Sago GV facing away from the marina would also have a pretty decent, fairly close monorail view. I am looking at my map.

As for Theme P V.....Conch is out there toward the boat launch and has the Hammerhead rooms that have two balconies and are a bit larger - I THINK the hammerhead rooms are TPV...maybe LV. I think for TPV combined w/monorail viewing Conch would be best - right on the end. Hockeymom's pics of her new room on like page 382 of this thread are TPV from Conch.

Glad you are booking another trip. :goodvibes

Here is our theme park view from Conch. I posted some of these a while ago, but thought you might be interested in our view of the monorail. DS11 thought is was pretty cool. The view of the monorail is a bit farther away, I would imagine, than some of the other buildings, but I really liked our view :goodvibes

Sago lagoon view has excellent and close views of the monorail. If I knew how to post pictures, I'd show you one!

LOVE the monorail pictures. They are great! Thanks so much.

  1. Ok, now what is a hammerhead room? Is that what I ask request with CRO?
  2. Will they let 5 stay in those or is it like the Lodge Tower rooms with 4 max?
  3. Do the Turret rooms hold 5? Do they have balconies?
  4. Are there TVP rooms in any other bldgs besides Conch and Sago? Does Sago have the Hammerhead and/or Turret rooms?
  5. How would you list the requests (order)?

The hammerhead rooms are on the corner at the ends. They have two balconies and are a bit larger. I just assumed they'd sleep 5, but then again....not sure exactly. Misti had posted about them a while ago & I thought that would be what I'd want if I didn't stay concierge, but I have GV booked and I believe she told me they are only LV or TPV....not sure which now that they went and added that diff TPV category.

The turret rooms are really lodge tower rooms - separate category sleeps 4 - exception the sofasleeper iffy. OR in the main buidilng they are the deluxe honeymoon rooms....only supposed to sleep 2.

If you book TPV or LV request Hammerhead room. Misti's pics were awesome. I honestly do not believe the room assigners give a fig (haha sorry for the playon words, Triple) about any requests, though. ONLY concierge where there are fewer rooms and you have IPO contact prior to check in.

Happy planning

1. I've heard the "hammerhead" rooms referred to just as Channing described them - they're the end rooms of Conch Key, closest to the MK, that have an extra balcony/window. I don't know if they're bigger or not - maybe just due to the extra space of the balcony. :confused3 I know Janet2K had pics of one of these rooms in her pic albums. I'm sure you would probably confuse the heck out of CRO if you were to request one! :rotfl:

2. I think those rooms are the standard occupancy for the GF, so I would think 5 would be doable.

3. Do you mean the Honeymoon Turret rooms, or are you referring to the Lodge Tower rooms in each outer lodge? Or dormer rooms?

4. It seems like someone reported getting a TPV in Boca Chica, but I could be wrong (and I think that might be more of a view of Space Mtn. vs. the Castle). I would definitely specify a castle view if staying TPV, and I would think Conch and Sago are your best options for those.

5. I would list your requests as a view of Cinderella Castle and the monorail, on a higher floor.

I'm trying to remember if I could see the monorail in our GV room in Conch - I know I could when I was outside of the building, but not sure of inside. I'll have to look at some of my pics tonight.

I would think a monorail from SL would be kind of hard. I've heard people say they've had a pretty "up close and personal" view of the monorail from Sago.

Good luck!

Do you have links to Misti's room pics? So is it worth making requests if they don't care? Or did I misunderstand?

Nope, you didn't misunderstand.:rotfl: Ya, it was kind of contradictory. I would request it - doesn't hurt and it's the ONLY way you would get one or at check in. Just to let you know they are really neat rooms & it may be an option for your category. It has just been my experience that they pay little attention to requests. I have my best luck w/specifics at check in.

No, I don't have a link to the pics. I will check my PMs and see if I happened to save it....doubt it though.

I am thinking of changing our Tgiving trip to a Xmas one. I am bummed that the AP rates don't include check ins after Dec 15. I would need Dec 19 at the earliest. That darn ap website stinks, too.

Does anybody know if AAA rates would be a possibility for holiday period or did Disney remove that too??

I just am concerned about DS 17 missing 3 days of his jr yr in HS over Tgiving. The girls have that whole week off. He doesn't.

We'll see.....

OK, I'm coming in a bit late for this, but I have photos of the tuxedo & bride white chocolate strawberries. The picture is kind of dark, but here it is:

Maybe we'll see you there...we are getting there tomorrow morning! :cool1:

Booked the Theme Park View for Feb 2-9! Requested Conch Key and a Hammerhead room. She also put a note that a good view of the monorail and castle were important. It's at Rack Rate, but I'm going to keep checking for AAA. Maybe a code will come out that I could apply.

Now which is better, Citricos or Narcosees (sp?)? Haven't been to either and want to try one during our trip.
