G-d, that's pathetic! She was so clueless, we all know for a fact that the rooms haven't been re-done in the past 2 years but she doesn't? What is she, thinking of the Poly? Geez! I can understand that they don't want false info out there to potentially scare off guests but it's THEY who are giving the inconsistent/incorrect info

Actually the rooms were given a soft rehab, no new furniture, about 2 years ago.

OK - I stand corrected. I have been going to GF almost yearly for 8 years... since the real redo in, what?, 2000?, the only change I've seen is new bedspreads in a cart outside of Sugar Loaf a a few years ago...
Is that what "soft rehab" means?

Hmmm....that confused me, too. Curious what happened at the GF 2 yrs ago. :confused3

Yep that is pretty much a soft rehab, new comforters, mattresses etc, which would be listed in the computer as the last rehab.

:)
And that is the $64,000 question.... which location do I like?? Does someone have a link to the Sago room pics? Maybe that will help me :flower3:
Let's face it, I guess I don't care, I just REALLY want a dormer room- I love those ceilings!! And that was what we had in Sugar Loaf back on our honeymoon :cloud9:

ETA: Thanks for your concern about the illness... what a difference a day makes! Can't even believe I can be at the computer today after what I went through Monday and Tuesday

We really liked the feel of the higher ceiling in our dormer room as well. As I mentioned earlier, I think Sago would be a great location.

Also, in downloading the remainder of my pics from my camera, I forgot about this picture of the fabric from "the chair" in the renovated room. I think they must have ordered a lot of this fabric to make a lot of chairs as DS15 noticed the Mickeys on it (thus the picture, we had been hidden Mickey searching, book in hand, all week). Sorry to those of you who do not care for the fabric.

Here is the last rehab in SL. It happened when we were there in Dec 05. They replaced the mattresses and comforters. First day comforter...

And I just have to say how much I love, love, love this decor. If it shows up on Ebay, please let me know. I would love to redo a room in it!

There are little hidden Mickeys in the fabric!

Hockeymom - That is adorable! OK, I like the fabric a tiny bit more now, lol.

Triplefigs....I like the first comforter better!

Ah. That's maybe when they got the nice pillow top mattresses.

THANKS!

Lives4Disney :)

Yes they did, it would not be a visual change such as this is, but a replacement of exisiting items such as mattresses, comforters, bedding, and even possibly drapes if needed.

That is considered a "soft" rehab, this is considered a "hard" rehab has it includes furniture, TVs, etc.

Construction would be what they are doing at AKL, where you have actually structural changes to the rooms and size of the room etc.

Unless you end up in a building that they are working on one of the floors I am sure most people will not even notice.

If that concerns anyone simply request not to be placed in a building under rehab.

Right now Conch Key is the only one completely finished.

Me too. And Rees was devestated he lost the Faries from Sleeping Beauty. At least we had it for a day. And the yellow/blue did NOT match the plaid dust ruffle and pillows well at all. It really needed the pinks and greens.

O.K. So, this looks like the same bedframe, nightstand and light fixtures as our renovated room??, however, I like the soft goods - bedspreads and pillows (more vibrant yellow and soft blue than our renovated room).

Hockeymom, I don't think I've posted on this thread how much I enjoyed your pictures. I love the look of the new decor in your photos. I know I'll miss the table but that chair looks good to me!

Triplefigs, thanks for posting the pictures of the comforters. We were in SL in Jan 02 and Dec02/Jan 03 and then finally back two months ago. I thought the comforters were different but my daughter with a younger memory thought not. Mom is right for once!

I know some rooms were getting new pillowtop mattresses during our summer of 04 trip as we saw them in the back area by Sago Cay.

OK - we need to give MAJOR KUDOS to whomever decided to upholster the "easy chairs" in Mickey Ear-ed fabric!!!

The first comforter is the "cameo" comforters. Which one do you want us to watch for? The cameo or ribbons?

The cameo. And I just found one on Ebay. They have the queen bed skirt too in the plaid. I'm going to watch it! It would look too cute in my DDs room which is a pale green color and a 4 poster bed.

I am glad you enjoyed the pictures! As I posted earlier, my DH thought the chair was great! Although, I am the decorator in the family, he just thought it was really comfortable and a great idea to have a chair and ottoman in the room.

My DS11 really liked the daybed and DS15 did a good job of catching those Mickeys on the upholstered chair. The queen beds were extremely comfortable or I was just totally exhausted after a week at Disney! Also, I thought the designers did a good job with the use of space with the TV armoire w/flat screen, four drawers and refrigerator in one piece of furnture. If you are missing the table and chairs, at least there is the small roll out type table under the desk (same as the YC/BC and Poly desk). Again our view was amazing and we enjoyed our brief stay at GF.
