The NEW Disney's Contemporary Resort FAQ with PICTURES! (Feb 2008)

What bathroom amenities and brand are supplied in the rooms? Anything special or bring my own?

Hi All!

I do have some pro's and con's at the Contemporary Resort.

I'll start with the CON's first:

Biggest complaint, they do NOT have PC's in the rooms any longer. According to management they took them out January 5th, 2009.

The landscaping around the pool was literally non-existent. No lush landscaping at all! I was very surprised by this. In fact. there wasn't any "Disney-like" landscaping near the pool area or the back of the hotel where it faces Bay Lake. Very disappointing to say the least.

Mousekeeping, was so so. They didn't really clean or dust and the beds were not properly made at all. They also looked as if someone was sleeping in them (after they were made). The mouse keeping was not great, it wasn't bad though either.

No real theme at this resort. Kinda of sterile if you will as if it were geared for the business traveler.

Lastly, it is very expensive to stay here. Yeah it's on the monorail system, but by the time you board the monorail, then stop at the TTC get off then wait for the EPCOT monorail, you could have taken the bus or drove there much quicker in my opinion, and the monorail is very over rated.

PRO's

GEORGEOUS room. Very Bellagio looking and upscale.

Beautiful bathroom

Well the Magic Kingdom view was SPECTACULAR! This view can NOT be beat.

Watching the fireworks (WISHES) from your balcony while music is being played on the TV in your room.

Balcony over looking the concourse was spectacular!

Courteous staff

LOCATION to all Disney experiences

Coolness factor can not be overstated (Lobby, room, VIEWS)

Fast elevators

Thanks All!

Thanks for your honest review and don't worry about no lush landscaping around the pool because once the renovations over there are finished, they plan to make it more tropical with a lot of plants and etc.

They took the computers out? Wow we must have gotten lucky, we checked out Jan 4th.

I have a question about our reservations for this summer. When we booked club level we got our confirmation page by email and it states Theme Park View Club Level(Cr). When I pull our reservation up online it says CR a 2 Bedroom Villa, anyone have any ideas?:confused3

I am seriously bummed about the computers!! That was a key factor for us to stay at the Contemporary over the Poynesian. We'll still have fun when we get there, but DH will be very sad....

When I look up my families reservation online it says the exact same thing, however our e-mailed confirmation says Atrium Club - Magic Kingdom View and that's what the Cast Member from CRO told me when I called them about it.

Thanks for the response. :thumbsup2 The paper I have just says club level not Atrium, this is what is confusing me too.Oh well love the CR from any room!:goodvibes

You're welcome and maybe if you want to feel even more better call CRO to ask them about this.

Also did you happen to make your reservation online? That's how my family and I made ours and maybe there is glitch in the system because it only started on 01/01/09 when you make a reservation for either view on the Atrium Club Level, so maybe something is messed up when it comes to looking up your reservation online when doing a reservation over there.

I did make the reservations online. Then my TA added a day. I checked before and after she changed it and it said the same thing. princess:

Brunette Thanks for the review...:)

I think that the landscaping on the Bay Lake side of the CR is being redone during the pool rehab...

I personally think that most modern decor is a little on the sterile looking side...but I do love the CR decor....now that its been renovated...!

Glad that you had a good trip...
