Hello Everyone,

My DH and I are staying at CSR (for the first time) in 35 days and I did not request a specific building on the reservation. So my question is...is there a bad section of the resort? :confused3 Which one was the former smoking building? I think that is the one that would be really unpleasant to stay in. I would have to ask for another room upon check in but I need to know which one it is. Thanks for you help.;)
Jennifer
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the sections. THe difference is how much walking to the main building you care to do. Each section has its own bus stop so that isn't a problem unless you like to get a mug refill before retiring for the night. Then you may not want a room in the rancho section.

Cabana 9A was formerly smoking? Has anyone stayed there recently? Does it still smell of smoke?
We are going in May and have requested a Cabana Room.
Thanks!

Just make the request for any Cabana (if that's ok) except for 9A :)

We stayed at CSR in September and had requested a Cabana room....anything but building 9A. When we checked in they gave us a room in 9A. I informed them this would not do, The CM said the room had been totally refurbished and was smokefree. We went to the room.. opened the door and didnt even go into the room...it reeked of smoke... like a dirty ashtray.
Went back to CM and was told that no other rooms available. Asked them to check other resorts . CM called the manager and we were then given a room in the Casitas. Strange how another room was suddenly available.
CSR is beautiful but Cabana 9A still reeks of smoke.

OH NO!!! I didn't request a certain area, and now I am afraid we will be stuck with this. We are checking in late, probably not until close to 9pm using our CM friend's discount. Does the CS have an email address so i can request to NOT be in 9A?

Thanks!

I stayed in 9A over Labor Day weekend and I did not have a problem with the room. It did not smell like smoke at all... I am highly allergic to cigarette smoke, so it was a major concern -- Maybe I was just lucky. I wish I remember the room number...

Ok, so I have seen the pics of the Cabanas (and they are beautiful), but it seems like EVERYONE stays there (which is fine), but now Im thinkin I want to call and change to a different area of the resort.

Any suggestions other then cabanas....or should I leave AS IS?!

Nittanyliongirl02...I had the same thoughts as you. We enjoyed our Cabanas stay last year, and I thought about rebooking Cabanas for next year. I waffled, and thought maybe Casitas. Now I'm back to thinking Cabanas. Honestly, I think everybody on this forum might choose Cabanas, but quite frankly we're a small minority in overall booking.

Just wanted to pop in and thank everyone for all of the terrific CSR info we gathered before our trip last week. The resort was as gorgeous as we remembered from our first stay there back in 1998. Our rooms were in the Ranchos section facing a quiet pool. Very lovely. We had requested Ranchos on an upper floor but were put in Casitas on the ground floor. We asked if anything else were available and Raymond who checked us in found just what we wanted. He was super nice and made our check-in a really nice experience. The rooms were clean and wonderful. And a special thanks to Buzz for the a/c advice. The humidity was horrendous last week but our rooms were always cool and comfortable. All in all our stay at CSR was fabulous.
Thanks for sharing!!

Glad you had a wonderful stay- anxiously waiting for my day to come- soon!!

We only stay at All Star Sports, once before. But in December of 2008 we are getting married and are planning a Disney Honeymoon. We are looking into this resort. It is beautiful and looks romantic - to us anyway.

Is this a good choice?

I'm sure it is in here somewhere but we leave in 2 weeks and I just want to check,do they provide small soaps, shampoos and conditioners?
Also, there are refrigerators, hair dryers and microwaves in the rooms also right?
