Just to tired tonight to go into it but its something Im very interested in as well. I have strong beliefs

Do you go to church every week then?

I hold my beliefs very close to myself (though I also take the mickey out of them a little because I appreciate many people see Quakerism as very obscure). I don't go to Meeting every week because it's about 1 hour door to door to get to Meeting, but I still try to think "Quaker" most of the time.

I think it's a shame that talking about religion often descends into such heavy arguments - you have to be so careful about things on a lot of public forums.

We try to go every week (but not very good at the moment). Its not local but in Manchester - about 20 mins away by car. I'll fill you in I promise.
Agree though that it can cause so many arguments and disagreements amongst people

I'm sure you will :goodvibes

It's odd - I kind of shunned religion when I was younger, but in hindsight I think that's because I didn't get on so well with the traditional worship format which was used for assemblies and services at both schools I went to.

Now, it's really important to me. Which reminds me, I need to e-mail my Vienna report before the weekend, so it can be read out in the Business Meeting that I'm not going to on Saturday :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone. Ive just realalised I was last to post on here last night and first this morning - does that spell super addiction :rotfl:

Good morning Small World :goodvibes

Nope - I just didn't see the point in posting good night to myself :)

I was around until about 1 something last night doing various things and watching TV, then was woken up at about 7:15 (1/4 earlier than planned) because my textbooks for October were delivered.

Textbooks are so expensive though - the uni pays for them out of my course fees and I get them. This time round, I got sent 2 book at about £50 each!

Good morning Mr Stitch.

So now you've got your text books does that mean you've passed your coursework/assignments etc

Not that I know of. They're just getting ready for next term I think. I believe I could have started next term even if I failed this one, though I'd have to re-submit some work for the failed term.

I should find out very soon though - my 4th assignment is officially due tomorrow and the uni official cut off point for marking and work returned can't be that long away now.

Oh right- thought it was a way of letting you know you'd passed.

Need to get ready for work now so speak tonight. Have a good day at work

Unfortunately not. That's all done through e-mail.

I shall probably inform people here once I do know whether I've passed or not :goodvibes

Morning!!!

Sorry i dissappeared so dquick last ngiht!!

And to miss out on the religion talk! I always find ti SUPER interesting too.

I am pretty much void of religion after some bad experiences with OTT in your face type xtians. :(

Taoism is the one I most like to live by. But only if someone forced me to state my religion would that emerge. Otherwise I'm pretty much religion-free.

DO nice things, treat others as you would yourself..thats me! :)

Good morning to both of you :goodvibes

We can always pick up where we left off once I get back from work tonight. I'm way to busy to start discussing religion properly until I get home though :)

I know sod all about religion.

The only two things I know is that three American Mormons were really nice when I chatted to them in the High Street in Protsmouth once and that Germany have banned Scientology (I learnt that the other week while I while there)

How interesting.

Scientology is unusual to say the very least and seems to have a bad reputation at the moment, but I don't think it should be banned :sad2:

Imagine the uproar if a nation tried to ban Judaism or Islam :scared1: Why should Scientology be treated any differently?

They see it as akin to Nazism apparently.

It might have been a translation issue so they may just not recognise it as a religion rather than banning it.

When you start talking about something fun let me know, talking about religion is boring in my opinion.

Morning everyone though, i'm off out to pick up last min holiday bits.
