Well done Jackie

Ooh tipi's, I have just done a powerpoint on tipis for my class tomorrow. We are studying American Indians.
And gardens, I love mine. We spend so much time out there. DH installed low voltage lights out there and speakers. My rabbits must be the only ones in the world with a speaker system next to their hutch!

Oh Mrs Tiggers just gone to bed - she wants to live in a Tipi - wake up Mrs Tigger :rotfl:

Just thought I'd post my plans for Germany.

I'm hoping to be able to add a ticker some time next week, but I'm not 100% sure who I have to ask for holiday at the moment as I've moved teams this week (both candidate people are back in next week, so it should get sorted then), but I'm also hoping that step-dad can check his reward points, as I might be able to use some of his points to get half off my flight :goodvibes

So anyway:

I'll be flying from Southampton To Hanover on the Friday (28th Nov).
Once I get to Hanover, I will then be transferring straight onto the train for about an hour, travelling to Bad Pyrmont.
Once I get to Bad Pyrmont, it's a walk of unknown distance up to the Meeting house that I'm staying at.

I'm then due to reverse all that at about Sunday lunchtime, so should be back home by Sunday evening.

While in Germany, I'm expecting to get involved in a good mount of Quaker business Meetings, as well as meeting up with my European based Ffriends who I haven't seen since Easter and then probably won't see again until November 2009 unless I go to Syria in Spring 2009 (don't think I'll be allowed that one off at work because of all my other planned trips). It's a lot more fun than it sounds and was a really exhausting weekend when I went last year, which was in Brussels.

I was hoping to travel by train, but both the cost and time of travel are crazy - 1 way on the train is more than my entire return journey by plane, plus it would have been overnight (Thursday - Monday).

I've never been to Germany before and know no German, plus when I made the trip to Brussels, I got lost between the last train station and the Meeting house. With this in mind, I'm a little nervous about travelling on my own, but at the same time, I'm looking forward to the trip and seeing my Ffriends again, as I haven't seen some of them since November last year.

No Emma or Rob tonight?

Sorry, I'm here... Was just busy writing up by travel plans to Germany :goodvibes

Plus I posted the hamsters in celebration of your 10,000 :cool1:

Me? Real life? very funny...

I was asked if I go the pub today... My response (no joke), was: "I don't go out to the pub very often because I have no social life" :rotfl:

Sounds like a fun trip to Germany. I'd probably get lost too! Could you take a taxi? Or is it not that far to walk? If I'm walking somewhere I don't know now I use google maps on my mobile phone!

Of all the countries to get lost in, germany would be one of the cleanest/helpfulest/and safest. :goodvibes

I really lovr germany. You'll be fine :)

I'd start preparing that search party if I was you... Take a look at this map of where I went in Brussels... No joke, I got lost trying to walk the highlighted route!

In my defence, I only got lost because I got confused about which exit from that roundabout to walk down, but even so :rotfl:
