well Ive just had an hours sleep and gosh its helped a lot

I'm here, I just had a quick gin and tonic with the neighbours. They were out in the garden having one themselves so passed me one over the fence!

Good afternoon everyone, i'm going to be on here for a while now as I have done all the washing & housework that needs doing.

I have to do some ironing but i'm putting it off for the time being

I have the best neighbours ever. They are a retired couple and they look after things for us! They always watch for the postman in case we have a parcel and go out and get it for us to save us having to drive to the sorting office! Oh and they come round and feed the cats and rabbits for us when we are away (actually the cats seem to go round there quite a bit anyway, probably because they keep feeding them salmon and chicken from their dinner!!)

Out of curiousity, how does everyone here roast a chicken?? Just a plain roast chicken, nothing fancy. Roberts Mum wouldn't believe me when I told her to put a lemon up its butt........... She normally just cooks it in oil..... I rest it on diced red onion, season it inside and out, shove a lemon and some more red onion up its bum, and then dot it with little bits of butter.........

Out of curiousity, how does everyone here roast a chicken?? Just a plain roast chicken, nothing fancy. Roberts Mum wouldn't believe me when I told her to put a lemon up its butt........... She normally just cooks it in oil..... I rest it on diced red onion, season it inside and out, shove a lemon and some more red onion up its bum, and then dot it with little bits of butter.........

We just cook it in oil...

I can see the advantage of the lemon and onion, but we just take the easy way out

So, we seem to have been very quiet on here today? What's everybody found to do that's so much better than DISing?

We went over to Gunwharf in Portsmouth, then had a look round the historic dock yard and all the old boats. It's changed an awful lot since I was last year, with a lot more museums than I remember.

The last time I went must have been a long time ago, because I don't remember one of the boats (the mary rose) being kept behind glass when I last went, but can't find anything on the web suggesting when the glass was added...

My days been pretty lousy.

Packed for holiday (the nice bit) and then went to work. Where I found out one of my best friends has been dumped by her long term live in boyfriend. Now I feel awful as she lives in cardiff and I can;t get there coz I'm going away tomorrow, so I can;t see her for two weeks.

Poor thing, i just wish I knew what to do to make her feel better, but I know not much will help at the moment. Just wish I could have some of the pain for her...

Its aways been behind glass I think or has been for a long time. We were last there Christmas 06 and it was then and onour previous visits as well.
You keep making me want to go to Portsmouth at the moment - we love it there- you mentioned Port Solent the other day and i wanted to go and now this. I think we'll have to get searching for travel lodge rooms

Aww love it round there.. my dad lives in Portsmouth so when we go and visit we always have a walk around the dock

we just cook it in oil as well but have just had roast beef and now cook that on top of roasted veg -its delicious
