NOOOOOOOOOO!

I was meant to fly XL on tuesday! Just had to shell out £700 for easyjet flights!!!

That's a lot of money for flights, especially with a so called budget airline like easyjet.

At least you were able to make alternative arrangements though

They've gone into liquidation!

So it was either fly easyjet or not go on holiday!

To be honest though it thats what the flights cost then I'm happy to pay it.

XL are probably in trouble as they've been charging too little and cant pay the fuel. We'd paid £380 for the two of us with XL.

So glad you managed to make alternative arrangements, but £700 is an awful lot of money. Kinda makes me glad that I'm in the position that I could just drive if I'd made other plans that fell through.

Just drive one of those Ducks that they drive around London for tours - that would get you there

I know, can you imagine?? We almost booked to go today so would be stuck at gatwick now!!!

At least loads of people fly daily out to tenerife! Means we're missing our boat across to our island but there are other later in the day so could be a lot worse!!

Or you could drive to gibraltar, then swim a bit, then hire a car, drive down through morrocco (except i swore I'd never go there again!) and then maybe swim?

Yeah, its not so bad, its quite a long way and we need to get there so I'm happy to pay.

Jack's just got off the phone from mastercard and they say hopefully he should get all of the money back from the flights.

Still means we've sent an extra £350 though

At least it's a small plus. Would have been a shame to loose the money you paid to XL as well as paying more for the replacement flights!

Definitely, something like this happens to us all at some point.

At least it wasnt big flights (I'd never book with a cheap airlines for long haul though) or anything we couldn't fix.
