The New Caribbean Beach FAQ Part VII

One issue I am still dealing with- we left a bag of hair bows for my DD in the nightstand drawer, about 15 bows from Etsy and various places, and I am still trying to track them down. I called the resort 3 times and keep getting routed to lost and found where I can either leave a message, or just give my info to someone. Ugh. It makes me frustrated bc I feel like the further from the checkout date I get, the more of a chance of them being lost or stolen. Ugh. I will try again today, and CM friend is going to try to take a ride over there. Any tips on these situations would be appreciated!

Back in 2009 we got home and realized that we had left our DSs lovey in the room. We called and left our information with lost and found. A package containing items we had left in the room (turned out to be more than just the stuffed monkey) was sent to us free of charge from Disney. We were told that when you check-out, mouse keeping will bag and catalog forgotten items for lost and found. If you call, they will send these items to you. It's a complimentary service and one of the reasons I love Disney!

Continuing to pray that this happens. We are 5 days post check out at this point, and despite several phone calls, still have not located our hair bows and Elsa bauble necklace. I feel like the further we get from our checkout date, the more likely chance of not finding them. :-(. Fingers still crossed!
Are the only rooms in Trinidad South Pirate rooms? SIL booked a pirate room because that was all that was available. DSIS and I booked water views. We do NOT want to be in Trinidad South. Are there regular rooms in that building? Thanks!
Just bumping. Does anyone know if all rooms in Trinidad South are Pirate rooms? Thanks!!!

Thanks so much, EpcotBill! My notifications must be off. I totally missed it. Thanks for your help. We have never stayed at CBR before...learning the ropes!

I will probably read through all the pages at some point in time, but I just wanted to stop in and say hi!

As of right now (aka I made the reservation yesterday), I'll be a CBR for one night 2/19 - it's PHM weekend and I'm doing the 5K. I usually stay at a value, but since it's only one night, I decided to spring for a moderate. I hope I made a good choice!

Of course, there's at least a 75% chance I'll end up having to cancel this trip, but ... for now it's booked and I'm really looking forward to checking out CBR!

Any recommendations for which section to request? I know nothing about the place, so I don't know which are best. Which is your favorite? (not trying to cause controversy, just interested in hearing which ones people like best - I expect to hear at least 2-3 differing opinions)

Okay, I'm off to read the rest of the thread!

Looking like the refurb will have a vast majority of the standard rooms completed by our stay in Dec...which is good, now we just have to cross our fingers they don't try to give us "magic" and upgrade us when we really want queen beds.

Ok...so I am not a newbie...no excuse except for the fact that I can't find the answer! What happened to the pictures on page one? I know someone asked, but geez I can't for the life of me find the answer. Even the map is gone. :confused3

They were on someone's photobucket account and that person erased them so they no longer appear here. There is still a link to the map and pictures throughout the thread and on the CPR Pics thread.

I've found that clicking on the "map" link does come up, the thumbnail preview is just gone...but since the thumbnail was too small to really make use of, I was always clicking the link anyway.

When I made our reservations last spring for our Dec. trip, I made some room requests noted on the reservation (Room 1 arrival on the 16th, Room 2 arrival on the 18th - Jamaica or Aruba, adjoining rooms, 1st floor).

Now that I can check in online, I can only choose 2. Will the original requests still show up or will the online check-in override them?

TIA!

I've just discovered that most of mine are missing! Sorry - blame my daughter for that - she 'nicked' them for her pre-trip report!! I didn't realise that by doing that she'd remove them from this thread as well. I'll try re-link them - they're still in by Photobucket menu.

Oops! Hopefully, you can get them back on your photobucket account.

Anybody heard from Dansdad lately? It looks like the last time he posted on the Dis was 9/27.

I have a preferred room booked but wondering if I should request jamaica building 45. I like the idea of the newer rooms. I have never been to the resort so not sure what a difference in walk it would be to the buses or OPR. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
