I have an odd question...

We will be there next month in a pirate room with the free dining. I have called for months now trying to get a standard or preferred room with no luck. I don't want to stay in the pirate rooms because of the distance. I have a medical problem where it's hard on me to walk long distances. When I check in, can I ask nicely for a standard room? I know I paid for the pirate room, and I wouldn't mind paying it forward, and let another family have our room. I'd much rather have a refurbished room. Has anyone had any luck doing this?

Last year we booked standard with a water view. Then I made a request for Martinique and close to Old Port Royale. We ended up in building 24 which was close to a pool, the food area, and the bus stop.

I would try calling and asking to switch to standard. You paid extra for pirate and unless you have 45 or more days until you travel, you might not get a full refund for the difference. When you call be sure to make your requests then.

When we were there in May, 2014, there were multiple pillows on the bed and all were different firmness. I'm not sure if they still have the multiple pillows after the refurb was done. Maybe someone who has stayed in one of the new rooms can chime in.

there may be rooms available in Jamaica and Aruba, but FD only applied to a specific number of rooms in each category...not sure if at this point someone cancelling is going to help...if you didn't have the FD package, it would certainly be possible to downgrade to standard if the rooms were available.

So excited! Yesterday we rescheduled our May 2015 trip to March to take advantage of the discount. Not going to tell the kids but surprise them instead. So now instead of celebrating our anniversary there, we will be celebrating both kiddos' birthdays!!

So excited. Received a pin code yesterday and it was perfect for the trip we are planning. We were so excited to book CBR for mid April 2015 and then we will head to the Disney cruise. DH and myself taking our DGD who will turn 5 while we are in WDW. Her parents and her 2 brothers are coming too. Then a couple of days later my sister and her DH and 2 kids are joining us. (My sister and I have only known each other for 4 months now, so it will be our first family vacation as sisters)!

I'm considering switching my reservation from POP to CBR. I would book a just a standard room. My question is where is the best place to request a standard room?-we'd like to be close to bus stop and Old Port.
Also, I'm concerned about the buses to the parks. I read there's a few stops along the resort. Is CBR bus just for CBR or do they stop at other resorts?

On the way home now! We did end up calling maintenance about the wet carpet, and they put a blower in to dry it. Problem is that the water came back so I had to go tell the front desk, and we ended up getting moved because they figured it was an air conditioner leak.

That room was in Martinique and the kids liked it best, probably because of Nemo, but I much preferred the refurbished room in Aruba which also had a Murphy bed!

We really liked the resort, and my almost 10 year old loved the pool slides!! My 15 yr old dd and I took advantage of the movies while the boys swam on our last night and watched Hocus Pocus. I will say that the bar beside the movie gets a bit too loud at times and you can't really enjoy the movie.

It really is a pretty and fun resort!

There is a bus stop for each village as well as OPR, so you'll be close to one no matter which village you wind up in. If you want to be close to OPR I would suggest requesting Jamaica, Aruba or Martinique.

The CBR bus is just for CBR. The multiple stops is because there are multiple bus stops within CBR itself that it will stop at. Unlike the values the Moderate hotels have multiple stops within the hotel, instead of one central stop, since they are bigger in size.
