Too many posts to look though. We check in Saturday! I made my request on my online check in but can't remember if you all said to fax or call in my request 4/5 days before. If it was a call then just the center reservation number? Thanks!!!!

It's best to call and add any room requests to your reservation. Yes, just call the main reservations line.

My girls came home from Sunday school to a surprise scavenger hunt that led to our disney trip secret! The final stop was our Cinderella's castle play set complete with mickeys and Donald and lots of princesses--even some new squishy Dory/Nemo/Crush toys to clue them in on the resort! Now we just hang tight in 'wait and see mode' DD8's follow up with the orthopedic is a week from Tuesday.
The kids have been told that mom and dad have some things to figure out between 'dad's work' and such before we commit to going 9/26 or 11/29.... (That way there is no 'pressure' on DD8 in terms of postponement of the trip)
Kids are super excited and were changing 'sep-tem-ber' so wish us luck 9 days until doc visit and potentially 12 days until check-in!
(If it's longer until our trip that's okay - kids will still have trip on the way and we'll get the wdw holiday time magic!)

Sending good thoughts your way. :goodvibes

Can anyone tell me the closest supermarket to CBR? My DS is pretty juice and snack specific and Garden grocer doesn't carry some of the items. I am willing to take a cab ride on our arrival day but want to have an idea of where I am going. TIA!

We've been to the Publix grocery store near mile marker 9 on Hwy. 192 (W. Irlo Bronson) many times. It's fairly close by and easy to get to.

What is the best way to travel from CBR to the individual parks? We will have a vehicle if that makes a difference. We are going to be using a cumbersome double stroller so I want to make sure a bus is going to be the most efficient form of transportation before I lug that thing onto one.

We drive to Disney so we have a car at our disposal but we never drive to the parks. If you drive to the parks, you may have to park pretty far out maning that you'd have to take a tram to the park entrance. Going to the Magic Kingdom, you'd park in the parking lot, take a tram to the TTC (Transportation & Ticket Center) and then catch either the monorail or the ferry to the park entrance. If taking the buses, you'll be dropped off at a bus stop near the park entrance. I would think that even if you have a double stroller, it would still be easier to take the buses.

I rang Disney earlier to try and start making room requests - and you're not going to believe this, but the only refurbishment they have listed for CBR is the currently-closed kids play area!! What the heck?!

Doesn't surprise me at all! Just a few days before we arrived at the CBR this past May, I called to get an update and they said that there was no refurb going on which I knew was wrong since I actually had a Dis friend who was there at the time and saw the construction going on.

If you request a specific building, say Jamaica 45, and don't get it, are you likely to be placed elsewhere in the same village rather than somewhere else entirely ?

Reason I ask is, obviously Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 appear to be the most popular requests (and therefore are most likely requests to be turned down). Martinique 22 would be my next choice but getting bumped into the rest of Martinique looks closer to OPR than getting bumped into Jamaica 41 or Aruba 56.

Almost every time that we have gone, the room assigner has put us in the village that we requested. I usually just ask for a certain village and not a specific building. We have stayed in all of the Jamaica buildings and in all but one of the Martinique buildings. I'd say that the walks from the non-preferred buildings in both Jamaica and Martinique are about the same.

We are here now and going on night #6. We have had a great time. Anyone please let me know I'd you want pics of anything or have any questions. Thanks!

Take pictures of everything! No seriously, take pictures of everything. Some of us are suffering from CBR withdrawals.

We just arrived today and got a room in the newly renovated Jamaica buildings. This is our first visit to CBR and we are adoring it! We're normally Riverside fans, but this is slowly winning us over.

Glad to hear that you are having such a great time!

Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well at the orthopedic visit! Hoping that she is healing well enough that the doctor gives her the go-ahead to head to Disney.

If you have Google Earth, or just visit the google maps site, it gives an excellent visual! Water view buildings in Martinique would allow you to see the higher fireworks at Epcot, while Trinidad South is an awesome location for the Frozen fireworks at DHS!

Here is a link to a PDF map of the whole property. CBR is real close to Epcot and DHS. http://allears.net/tp/wdwpropertymap.pdf

Oh, WOW! Thank you!

I did a lot of looking at maps, etc. but they either showed the village set up or the whole park! I was so lost!

After reading the thread that some rooms even have the fireworks, I just had to know. I love fireworks. :goodvibes

Belle, thank you for the village names. That really helped me visualize a LOT better. I am Roof-Color challenged. :confused3 Am I now correct in "assuming" that the fireworks e.g. Epcot/DH are "behind" Jamaica/Aruba when looking "lake-side"? (OK, does that even make sense to anyone besides me? Also "behind" Barbados is Epcot and "behind" Jamaica is DH?

Well, I guess I will have to settle for fireworks from the beach. We are not staying in Pirate rooms and have not booked "preferred" either (and wouldn't want to pay the "up-price").

Knowing where the views are however does help in planning evening strolls... ;)

Mickey, I really have enjoyed your photos--they were some that have made me so excited to stay in CBR! Thank you!

Absolutely no reason for this post other than to see my trip ticker below eek ever so closer.......:dance3:

Yes, your fireworks locations are correct. The Frozen ones can also be seen from the pool at Old Port Royale. As far as IllumiNations, not all of Martinique is preferred. Buildings 21-23 are standard, so you may get lucky with a water view room in that location!

Thank you Dansdad - hoping for the best!

I apologize if it's been asked I skimmed thru pics, but can anyone tell me if they sell swim diapers at CBR? I have a few I can take from the end of summer which should cover what we need but just in case we'd need more?

It's been a long time since we've needed to buy those, but I do believe I have seen some at OPR on our last trip or two. Maybe a recent visitor will be more definitive. :)

Posting for no other reason than to celebrate!!!! 5 days and counting until we arrive at CBR :cool1::banana::goodvibes

Just noticed I am under the three month mark  We booked early spring so it feels like it is taking forever. I really want a refurbished room so I am going to make Jamaica my only "request" when I do online check in. We usually do adjoining rooms with the other families we are traveling with but would rather refurbished than Jamaica .... so my question is How big is each village? If we are not adjoining and don't request rooms next to one another could we potentially be pretty spread out? Can you request a specific building?

On this map it looks like there is a Hess station close by on Buena Vista. Is this within walking distant and be an option for some grocery snacks? I know people have talked about going to the Hess near DTD just wondering if this one is an option also?

There are no sidewalks leaving from CBR to walk anywhere, so walking is not allowed. You can take the bus to DTD and cross the street to that Hess station, since there are crosswalks and sidewalks there.

I believe that there were some for sale in the store at the CBR. I'll go back and look at my pictures and see if I can spot some.

Just did my online check-in!! Just have to fax in a couple small requests and we'll be good to go!! Now if November could just hurry up and get here!! :cool1:

Found 8 oz packages of vanilla and chocolate soy milk in the grab and go. No sign of almond milk anywhere.

Thanks - that's what I thought. I'll add it to the list to bring.

And....

5 official days before setting foot on Disney Property once again!!!:banana::banana:

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are refurbished and a very short stroll across the bridge to OPR and the main pool.

Thanks Dansdad! Just to clarify, would I indicate Jamaica and Aruba when doing my 'Online Check-In' and then follow-up with a phone call/fax about a week before we arrive?
