Just checked into Aruba 55, rehab is done, they are working on bldg 56.

Wow! Looks like the info on the first page is now out of date!

Are they ONLY working on 56 or are they also starting work on Barbados (or somewhere else) as it appeared at least at first they were working three buildings at once.

Dave from ************** just reported that Aruba 56 just needs some cleanup then Aruba will be complete. Work has started on Barbados 11.

Hello all.

We haven't actually booked anything yet but, as of right now we are planning to be at CBR May 9-16, 2015.

My husband and I stayed at CBR for our honeymoon in September 1996. We've been back to WDW a few times but have stayed at a few different resorts so, this will be our first time back at CBR in over 18 years.

If our dates hold, we will be celebrating our daughter's 8th birthday while we're there so, we're looking forward to doing that.

Our last two trips, we've been accompanied by other family members on their first-ever visits to WDW and I have played the part of "tour guide" for them. Both of those trips were a lot of fun. They were also unusually exhausting. I am really looking forward to spending this upcoming vacation with just the three of us. While I'm excited about all the parks and rides and food and the usual Disney World stuff, I'm especially ready to take some time, wander the resort and just take a slower approach, in general.

Thanks to mickeystoontown for mentioning the CBR board on her trip reports and always posting such wonderful photos and info about the resort. And very fun TRs too!

And thanks to dansdad for maintaining this thread. I plan to keep reading up during my... 243-day countdown.

I am getting ready to make my "requests" and wanted your opinions.

Would you rather stay at Jamaica or Aruba (pool/water view) or Martinique (pool/water view).

My dilema is that it sounds like Martinique won't be refurbished by the time we travel but the walking distance to food is desirable.

The queen beds at the refurbed buildings would be really nice but our family would also prefer close proximity to the food court if possible.

Are there buildings at Jamaica or Aruba (water/pool view) that are already refurbed that would also be a quick walking distance to the food court?

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are refurbished and a very short stroll across the bridge to OPR and the main pool.

CBR was awesome, we got back last weekend and we took advantage of the bounce back offer. Thanks everyone for the tips and pictures! We stayed in Jamaica 45, and we definitely felt it was close enough to everything we wanted. And we absolutely loved the resort. We were really disappointed when they decided to refurb the splash area, but we didn't miss it. We didn't even go to the main pool, but were in the quiet pool by the room every afternoon!

We decided to go back next year and bring DH's parents, brothers, sister and niece!

So glad you had a great stay at CBR. I've added your dates!

If you request a specific building, say Jamaica 45, and don't get it, are you likely to be placed elsewhere in the same village rather than somewhere else entirely ?

Reason I ask is, obviously Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 appear to be the most popular requests (and therefore are most likely requests to be turned down). Martinique 22 would be my next choice but getting bumped into the rest of Martinique looks closer to OPR than getting bumped into Jamaica 41 or Aruba 56.

I can honestly say, I will NEVER cheat on the Moderate Resorts again. EVER.

To create more of a "budget trip" for us this last time around, we changed our reservation from CBR to ASMovies. We really wanted to add MNSSHP to our itinerary and though how fun would it be to try out the theme of Movies!

My husband is still upset with me. Poor values. Honestly, I love all the Disney resorts, but, wow, the crowd is TOTALLY different.

I will not cheat on you again, CBR!!!!

WOW! That is really unfortunate! I've stayed at the Deluxes and Values. The last two times we went we stayed at Disney Movies because our daughter just loves it. And both times were really perfect. And we stayed in August no less, in front of the pool! Maybe it was just your specific crowd because our crowd was just fine.
It's funny because the one time we had any problems was when we stayed in the Beach club, and there were some REEEEEAAALLLY loud new yorkers that were just screaming! Me and my wife were walking outside and heard them cursing up a storm. They weren't angry, they were just really really REALLY loud and punctuating it with obscenities. We saw a Cast member beeline it for the area they were in (which was inside no less).
Crazy.
So yeah...i guess it just depends on the crowd at the time.

This summer (2015)will be our first time at a Moderate. (CBR) and we're hoping for a good crowd!
