I went back to look at pictures that I had taken before and it appears that the quiet pools are deeper than 4 feet.

I can see if I find any of the other pictures that I have of the pools show the depth and will post them if they do.

Thanks

Thanks for the correction! I edited my reply above. I've been in the quiet pools plenty of times, I guess my first cup of coffee hadn't kicked in yet.

No problem! I thought that I remembered the quiet pools being over my head in the deep end and I'm 5'4".

Hi All - I read on another thread that these extended buses are being used at CBR . . . are they only used during busy periods - mornings, weekends/holidays?
Does anyone have feedback if the average wait times for buses has been positively impacted by the use of these buses?

Trying to convince my family that the bus situation might not be as bad as they think - and need some ammunition ;).

We were at the CBR two weeks and only rode an extended bus once...maybe twice but I think that it was once. I noticed that the buses were parked near the bus station at the Magic Kingdom and not being used. I think that they put them into motion when it's the busiest times of the day.

We never had any wait longer than 20 minutes with most being way less than that. Our trip included Star Wars Weekend, 24 hour celebration and Memorial Day.

Even though we drive to Disney and have a car at our disposal, we do not drive anywhere while at Disney. The buses are much easier especially at the Magic Kingdom.

You are welcome! I looked at my main pool pictures and tried to zoom in but I can't see the depth clearly. I'll keep looking though.

Thank you Lisa - my family and my husband's large family (in-laws) travel together - so the extended buses sound great, wish I could rent one.

HI All!
We check in on September 9th and I can hardly stand the wait :) We have stayed at Caribbean Beach man times but this is the first with two rooms. I have the reservations linked and I did the online check in for both my parents and myself and requested Martinique first floor rooms. What is the best way to go about getting the rooms connected?
Thanks for any input you have :)

Hi! We will be there at the same time, checking in on the 8th! :goodvibes

You are welcome! One early evening at the Magic Kingdom bus stop, we chatted with one of the castmembers who was also a bus driver. She said that the new buses only go up to, I believe, 45 miles per hour and most castmembers don't like driving them because of that. I didn't see where that'd be a problem because I thought that was the highest speed limit that I saw anywhere but I could be wrong.

I asked if they were easy to handle and she said that they were. When we rode it, we thought they were the neatest things. Lots of room, the air conditioner vents could be adjusted, the center moved as it turned (even with people standing on it...which makes me now remember that we rode them twice) and there was plenty of room for everybody.

I never saw one at the resort picking people up. They were always dropping guests off. It could be that they are using them more since we were there in May/June though.

We were there in early April, and much like mickeystoontown's experience we had an articulated bus only once during a very busy departure from MK at park closing. Trust me, they can take a huge number of people on those things! :)

Posted speed limits do not equal actual speeds. I wouldn't want to be responsible for all those people and some crazy driver come speeding along at 60 MPH and cut in front of the bus.

But I can see the need for them in high traffic times. I'd rather ride a little bit longer to get back to the resort after a long day at the park than have to wait in line with hundreds of resort buddies.

I'm kinda hoping we get to ride one in Sept. They sound very interesting.

We rode the articulated buses twice. The first time was early morning at the MK--before the monorail was running. DD and I were on our way to MK for a tour and the lady directed us to the buses--up pulled one of the new "stretch" buses and we were the only ones on it over to the Magic Kingdom.

The second time we were leaving the Magic Kingdom and had one of the "stretch" buses back to CBR.

If you get a chance to ride one, try to sit in the back. It's a really cool/weird site when the bus turns. :scared1:

Lol! It can be weird, can't it? In the 70's and 80's, the city I was living in tested a few different kinds of these buses, so we got quite used to them on the busy university routes.

If you do have to stand on one of the WDW articulated buses, there is a nice space just behind the driver's seat where DW and I were quite comfy on our ride back to CBR. :)

I wouldn't want to see a bus come speeding along full of passengers. Scary! I think that it's good that they can't go faster.

They were really neat to ride on. Like dansdad said, try to ride in the back so you can see how the middle section turns.

I mentioned somewhere a few weeks ago that in Toronto they are getting ready to put articulated streetcars into service mid-august. Those danged things are as long as FOUR regular ones. they will hold close to <gulp> 260 peeps :crowded: We already have articulated subway cars and those are pretty freaky to ride on!!

Thanks All - I think the kids in our family would like riding the center of the slinky dog - as I've seen them referred to. Probably been more fun than some of the park rides ! And you don't have to reserve FP+ for them . . . but you do have long "standby" lines though sometimes.

Hello everyone, wow I feel late to the party but I wanted to add my dates and say hi.

My family and I will be staying at CBR September 16th-22nd. My husband and I have been to Disney World once before for our honeymoon but this will be our kids first trip and it's a total surprise! We plan to have a fun reveal Disney theme night, the night before we leave. It has been so hard to keep it all secret :cheer2:

In addition to my husband and our three kiddos my Auntie and her DIL are joining us. We have already requested connecting rooms (when I booked) but still need to finish our online check in and make our room/building requests. We booked standard and from what I have read I think I'm going to request Jamaica building 41.

I am so excited for our trip. I have been planning this vacation for a very long time and sadly something always seemed to get in the way :sad2: But this year things have MAGICALLY worked out and we will be there in 49 days!! :cool1:

Thanks for all the wonderful information in this thread it has been very helpful!
We will be there Sept. 13th-21st!!

I am so glad that I found this wonderful thread. I'm planning a trip in July 2015 with my sister, her two boys, and my DD7. When I discovered this thread, and learned that CBR will be adding Murphy beds to some rooms in the renovation, I got so excited. I have always admired CBR, and have wanted to stay there, but sadly my family of 5 could not.

Does anyone happen to know when parties of 5 may be able to book rooms? Thanks!

No one knows for sure yet. At least one person has been told to check back a little later to see if they have opened up for booking.
