You can't request a preferred room, it's a bookable category. Well you CAN request one, but the odds are slim you'll get one. To get a refurbished room you best bet would be to make that your only request. Or as reports come in as to people getting refurbished rooms and where they were, you can request that location.

How do you request that with the online check in? I think we just had the option to check two options for requests. Is there a place to type a request? We requested Martinique, but we'd love a refurbished room!!

I don't think you can with online check-in. Best bet would be to call and ask the CM to add it to your reservation, then skip the online request. Mention it when you check in at the resort and ask it if is available.

Has anyone heard of the hotel rooms being refurbished is it true. I am go in November and wondering if I can get a new room. Should I switch my reservation back to CB. Thanks

I am in a similar situation. I booked a stay last year for POFQ for this November using the bounce back discount. I tried today to switch to CBR but there was no availability under the discount. I left my reservation as is, but thought about double-booking with the hopes that they release a room only discount for mid-November. I will just keep checking back. I am also watching for my airfare to drop. Right now my dates are pretty fluid so I can adjust as needed.

I have been to Disney 15 times and stayed on property 13 and I am sorry to say that I don't have a clue what a bounce back discount is! Can someone please explain? Thanks!

Also if I may...we stayed at CBR last Christmas and it was amazing! I think it turned a corner for my DH. He liked Disney but, we LOVE Disney. After our stay at CBR he is a new Disney man! We are now planning a 2 week stay at CBR for summer 2015. Does anyone have any suggestions on what month we should stay? Last half of June, July or the first half of August. Thanks!! Lisa

Great minds must think alike. I also extended our stay until Monday. What I would have spent extra on airfair, was able to spend another night. Keep trying... I'm sure that Monday will open up so you can spend an extra night. If you haven't already, call in to extend you vacation. When I looked on line, it didn't look like there was any availability, but when I called disney, they were able to book me an extra night without any problem. Good luck :yay:

I think the trouble I'm running into is the trifecta of the last weekend of F&W, the half marathon, and FD. I guess I can add Jersey week and Veteran's day to that since I'm trying for Nov. 10th. I your advice and called. I spoke with a very nice CM, who had FD plus the extra day available at CSR for $100 less than our current package. (We are staying in preferred and the alternate offer was standard). I couldn't do it. After I explained to the CM how excited my 6yo DS was for the CBR pool and how my family did a happy dance in the kitchen when I made the reservation she told me that if I wanted the offer I would have to call back because she couldn't in good conscious let me disappoint my kids! She was very encouraging and let me know that people often book multiple reservations for FD, or book it 'just in case', or make changes once they book flights. She said they get a lot of cancellations that come in as people hit the 100 day and 45 day point.

Fingers crossed and I'll just keep trying for the extension. I'm tempted to book a RO at another resort as a back-up. It's not my preference because I'd rather keep the FD all the way through. Any suggestions from CBR lovers for a back-up plan? Our current CBR check-out day is Sunday the 9th. Half marathon runs Saturday the 8th so if we stay on the 9th I'm not sure what the best 'bonus day' park would be.

Please see post #1 of this thread.

A bounce back discount is one you can only book before you check out of your room on your current trip. There is usually a brochure/pamphlet in the little folder with information that is left in the room. It seems to be very spotty on whether one is there or if it is the current offer. The discounts vary and can be be a room-only offer that tends to be more than 10% more off than the public offers or around Sept. it seems to be Free Dining at the same time the next year. If there doesn't happen to be a brochure in your room, you can call x8844 from your room. If you are even thinking about going again within the next year you should probably book one, you can call later and move it to another resort or date as long as there are still rooms available under the discount.

Thank you Mickey. LOL That feels funny to say. :) I guess I never noticed the paper before. I need to pay more attention I suppose!

You are welcome. I learned about on the DISBoards after retuning from a trip. I was like doh!

Our first stay at CBR will be Oct 31-Nov 8th. I'm really excited to stay here. We've stayed at POR many times and love it there, but no FD, but that's ok since I've wanted to stay at CBR many times.

I just moved my reservation from sports to CB during Thanksgiving week hope I made a good decision. I was worried staying at sports at such a busy time with the kids.

This thread is HUGE and i figured just jumping in and asking my question will be quicker!

In room coffee maker? What kind is it? Hubby is a "coffee-snob" and if it is a "drip" pot we will be bringing his beans (pre-ground of course!) BUT if it is the "pod-type" which kind should we buy? Several stores in our city sell individual pods but i understand there are different kinds??? It would never do to have a "snarky hubby" every day... food court coffee would NOT cut it for this fool!! :rotfl2:

The coffee makers are Cuisinart Pod machines at least they were in 2012. Believe me no matter what coffee you buy unless you use bottled water it will taste horrible! Not sure what pods to buy as we don't use them at home sorry.

Great news! I spoke with a cast member today. She confirmed me CBR ia getting queen bed and pretty much everything in the room is new... Starting tomorrow, people will be able to check-in in jamaica 41 in a refurbished room....

Yah!! I'm booking a preferred room may 2015!

Thanks for your quick response, no sweat with the bottled water, need to have it on hand for medical reasons anyway :)

As the other poster said, it is the Cuisinart with pods. We didn't end up buying any, but I found them somewhere online before our last trip. DH didn't care for it. He went to the gift shop and bought a small coffee press and got coffee from somewhere (may have been gift shop or he may have gone to a store, it was the day I was sick and slept for four hours). He heated water in the coffeepot and poured it in the press to make coffee.

Any news on the Murphy bed being included in the rooms or just the queen bed upgrade?
