This booklet says to avoid "Purple prose". Looked it up on Google, and it says it's a prose that is so extravagent and descriptive, that it draws attention to itself. Best example on Wikipedia is:

"It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents—except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the darkness."

I don't know if I have purple prose in my personal statement so far. I think I do. I'll have to check.

I realised i've finished most of my UCAS form. Main thing that needs to be done is the PS and I need to state where I want to go, and add a couple of GCSEs that i've forgotten the board for.
