Deadheadbelle, we obviously have similar tastes in movies. I loved "Best In Show" and Christopher Guest's other recent movies. "Waiting For Guffman" is hilarious. We just watched "A Mighty Wind" this past weekend and it was just as good, especially being a fan of that genre of music (e.g., Simon & Garfunkel; Peter, Paul & Mary, etc.).

I also like Quentin Tarantino films but haven't seen "Kill Bill" yet. I may try to do that this weekend (if I can convince the other half, that is).

As for favorite Christmas movie, I have to totally agree with "A Christmas Story"!!! The past couple of years I've watched it several times in a row on Christmas Eve because one station (TNT I think, though they are now known as SpikeTV) plays a marathon. "You'll shoot your eye out!"

I would like to say that there is one type of movie that I loathe - SCI-FI! Hate 'em. Except Star Wars and I don't really consider it sci-fi, more of a dramedy-action flick.

Today I pledge to make a decision on the purchase of a new computer. Wish me luck!

Guys, I have to add that I just love "A Christmas Story". Even though I didn't grow up in the 40's, that movie still reminds me of my childhood. As Tink85 can attest to, that movie looks a lot like Syracuse--the homes, the school, the WEATHER!! Heck, my mom used to bundle me up like the Michelin man too. With those damned home made itchy scarves. My mom couldn't make (and still can't make) mittens right so the part where the fingers go in always comes to a point. It was soooo embarrassing to have pointed mittens.

Then there were the white boots with the fur trim. Moms didn't want to buy new boots every year, so when your feet were getting too big, they'd have you put plastic bread bags over your feet, and then have you slide them into the boots.

DON'T LAUGH! I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP!

And I've worn glasses since the third grade. There is nothing worse then getting hit in the face with a snowball when you wear glasses. What the heck are you supposed to wipe them off on? Those wet pointed mittens?

One of my favorite parts in A Christmas Story is when the one kid (can't remember his name) accepts the "triple-dog-dare" and sticks his tongue to the light pole. This has a special significance to my family because my brother did the same thing when he was a kid...once! It was quite humorous and I never fail to remind him of it every chance I get.

LOL HB, my DH has three older sisters. The middle one is the "evil" sister. She was always doing mean things to the younger one. She also got her sister to stick her tongue to a mail box or something.

Star Wars is more Sci Fi than fantasy, I'd say. I LOVE Neverending Story. I've always wanted my own luck dragon. The Dark Crystal was good too. How about Willow? Val Kilmer was HOT in that movie. But not has hot as David Bowie in Labrynth.

Dude, we just got a Dell! (sorry, couldn't resist) And I LOVE it! Got a really good deal too. My other half (better half when it comes to these kinds of things ) called them up and was able to get several upgrades at no additional cost. Don't be afraid to ask for a deal.

I'm sure Ohana is full of...advice. Advice...I said advice!!!

Thanks! A buddy of mine and I were sitting around trying to think of a racing team name (I race cars in autocross). When he mentioned Drunk Monkeys Racing, I blew whatever I was drinking out my nose laughing so hard. After I settled down, I realized that I liked the animal connection, as it would open many options for a logo to be drawn. We talked through various word combinations, and ended on Speed Weasel Racing.

Thank you for the nice compliment [color=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/color]. I actually have TWO Cinderella gowns. One that I wore for Halloween last year. But I'm only allowed to wear it for special occassions. And I know I got a new one when we were at Disneyland a few weeks ago. I think they're keeping it from me until Hanukkah. Don't know why, though. It's not like it's a surprise. I tried it on before they bought it.
