Hi guys. Has anyone seen Huggabaloo lately? If he sees this, I just sent him a PM. We are going to FL on Thursday, and I need someone to hold my hand while I flip out.
Good morning all!
HB is not dead (and neither is Paul McCartney in case anyone is still confused about that

).
Well, it's been an interesting week and a half! I found out the week before Thanksgiving that my mother was going to have surgery the day before Thanksgiving and was expected to be in the hospital for 3-5 days. What the doctors had originally thought was a compressed disc in her neck turned out to be something different after looking at the results from an MRI. Though they weren't exactly sure what it was, they determined it was some kind of mass...possibly a tumor. They said there was a 75% chance that it was not cancerous. They also said that it may or may not be located on the spinal cord (if so, the procedure to remove it would be much more serious). Since she has been battling breast cancer for the past 6 years, we were all more than a little concerned about all the unknowns.
So, my partner and I went to SC last Monday morning. Of course, we were there to be with my Mom, but it turned out that my Dad needed us just as much (I'm sure you all know how that is).
The surgery lasted nearly 6 hours Wednesday morning, and we were all very happy when it was over. According to the doctors the mass was removed completely and was not attached to the spinal cord (very good news). But, the strange part is that they still do not know what it was.

They thought it might be viral or bacterial in nature but have since ruled that out through tests. But, the doctors did say that when they removed it they literally saw her spine move back into place, so just getting it out was a major success.
While my partner and I were visiting her Thanksgiving Day, the doctor came in and told her that if she could walk OK and felt up to it, then she could go home that evening. Of course, she was thrilled with that news (she hates hospitals). Sure enough, the physical therapist came by and walked her around the hospital. I noticed that she was already walking better than when she went in.
While my Dad brought her home, my partner and I ran by Wal-Mart for groceries (and some welcome home gifts!), got her prescription, and picked up Thanksgiving meals from a restaurant. So, we were able to have somewhat of a Thanksgiving meal after all! And we really did have a lot to be thankful for.
OK, I'll stop with all the mushy talk...
Sorry for the long post but I do have about 20 pages to make up for!
