First of all, let me say that I did not have a bad trip, regardless of what the title implies. However, I did feel quite yucky and did just want to be home from the moment we arrived. But there are still some good moments, and fun things...This was just the best title I could come up with.

My next post will technically be my pre-trip report, but this trip took place over DH's birthday, and I had surprises planned. Since he reads the TR board all the time, I couldn't very well post all my plans. So, I wrote my pre-trip in July, and bit in August and just saved it on my computer until I could post it. So here it comes, with background and all.:)

July 11, 2007
I am so proud of myself today, I think I might burst. So, the logical answer is to pour my excitement out to a bunch of strangers on a discussion board!! So begins my pre-trip report!

DH and I fell in love with WDW on our honeymoon in 2002, and it is a yearly trip. We usually go twice a year, the last trip being our 9th together. DH and I have always enjoyed going to WDW in October, and recently started with the Spring Break trips too. But this trip, is just for me, just for the Pirate and Princess Party and I am so excited!! Well, I guess it's for DH's birthday too....We are both 26, Dh will be turning 27 on our trip, although he doesn’t like attention, or the fact that he is turning 27. So I don’t get to plan all the ADRs with his birthday info. or get him a button or find people to sing to him. :sad2: However, you will see in my plans that I did a few surprises, and that is why I am so proud of myself today, because I just got them planned.

Originally, I brought up the idea of going in August for the party, just to see how he reacted. He actually, agreed that it could work. He had been talking to some colleagues in the Orlando office of his business, and they wanted him to come show them some software thing. So I got very excited, and the plans were coming together. Then, he found out that the men didn’t use the software anymore or something else that I didn’t grasp, except that my trip was ruined. DH took pity on my sadness and replied, “We can still go.” WE CAN????!!! He’s the best husband in the world!!!! :woohoo: So off I went, literally that night, and booked the hotel and bought tickets to the party! Jack Sparrow here I come!

So, here are the plans.

We arrive on August 30 to check into the Swan (woohoo!). We will be leaving TN after work around 6:00, so we don’t have anything planned that day. Our plans are to only do parks in the morning and night, because me and oppressive heat don’t mix well.

The next day, we will start with Epcot, and have lunch at Alfredo’s. It’s the very last day it’s open, and we never got to eat here. I’m one of those WDW fans that wants to do everything at WDW just to say I have. So the fact that this restaurant was closing forever and I never got to try it did not sit well. Now I will be able to say I ate there on the last day! That night we will go to MK and the Pirate and Princess party!! Again, woohoo! :woohoo:

Sept. 1 we will be in Epcot and eat at the Coral Reef. Here’s where one of my surprises comes in. I booked the divers during our lunch to hold up the banner that says “Welcome Cassie and Jeff”. I would have loved to do a birthday message, but I thought he wouldn’t want all the attention. His name might be too much, but I think it’s subtle enough that he’ll be okay. He can shove all the attention on me if he has to, since it mentions nothing about his birthday. I’m so excited to have gotten this! That night, we will head to MGM for Fantasmic.

Sept. 2 – DH’s birthday! We will start the day with breakfast at Spoodles. During the day, a piece of birthday cake will be brought up to our room at the Swan! The other surprise I pulled off today. There will be no one there to make him feel embarrassed. That night, we are still up in the air about where he wants to eat for his birthday meal. At this point, it is looking like it will be Kona, but he hasn’t entirely decided yet. Then we will go to MK for Wishes.

Sept. 3 we have an ADR at Akershus in Norway right now, but I’m not sure about it yet. He agreed to it because I thought it would be cool to be in the WS before it opened. I had forgotten, you have to go all the way around to Mexico to enter, so we’ll only see Mexico and Norway. So I haven’t decided for sure if we want this one or not. But I think we will. Then, we check out and head home.

It will not be cool to miss Illuminations, but this is just an EXTRA trip. We are coming the next month, first of Oct. for our normal trip with MNSSHP, and will see Illuminations, but not Fantasmic. I didn’t want to miss it on both, so we’ll miss Illuminations this time, and Fantasmic in October.

Just for a quick update, DH did decide he wanted Kona for dinner. We have an ADR for 6:25, which is later than we wanted. We wanted to be in MK by then. So I’ll keep trying and see if I can get an earlier time.

Well, we’re less than a week away and I’m so excited! I managed to come down with a virus yesterday, so I’m home from work today and feel pretty yucky. But I am so thankful that I am sick this week instead of next week that I don’t care too much! I’ve been doing some shopping to find some comfy, lightweight capris to wear so I maybe won’t die in the Florida heat. I’ve gotten some cute new outfits, including a new Jack Sparrow shirt that says “WANTED” above his face. It goes with red pants and DH has some strange aversion to red pants. So he was not pleased that I would be wearing them in WDW….actually, he told me yesterday that it was probably the red pants that made me sick. However, it’s a fabulous outfit to wear for the Pirate and Princess party to meet Captain Jack himself, so DH will just have to get over it. Well, I guess the next post will be after we get home! I can’t wait!

Sorry I haven't gotten the TR going yet, but I did finally go to the doctor. I have food poisoning, a urinary tract infection, and dehydration. So that's why I was so sick during the trip!! Anyway, I will get the first part up soon.

Sorry to get something started and then leave it hanging. That drives me crazy.

I went from one sickness to another, so after being sick for over a month:sick: , I’m finally feeling better. However, I leave for my regularly scheduled trip tomorrow! So, instead of the normal, long and detailed TR, I’m going to do a short and sweet, basic idea TR instead. I didn’t feel good enough to keep notes anyway. So here is the run-down of our trip! (For a more interesting TR by yours truly, check out our March trip TR "The Cheesecake Tour"!)

August 30
Well, our flight finally arrived rather late on August 30…and I was feeling so sick. Dh was getting frustrated because he basically thought I was getting myself stressed and sick from that. I, however, felt like I was going to pass out or throw up at any moment. I sat on the floor by the baggage claim, and prayed and tried to feel better. We FINALLY got our luggage, and then had to go get the rental car. DH at least let me go off and sit by myself with all the luggage while he did all of that. Once we finally got the car, I closed me eyes and sat really still until we got to the Swan. That made me feel a tiny bit better.

It was almost 11pm by this time. We couldn’t find the self park section, and were tired and hungry, so we just pulled up to the valet and walked inside. They are doing construction on the Swan, so it was hard to find the desk. There were 2 signs pointing in opposite directions for the same thing:confused: …..Anyway, I finally get us checked in, and we get to our room. I just wanted to go to bed, but DH was starving. So we walk back down to the restaurants…they all closed at 11…like 5 minutes ago. We walk over to the Dolphin, everything closed at 11. We walk back to the Swan, planning to get something from a vending machine. Hmm…no vending machines or coke machines. We gave up and went to bed.

August 31
Epcot/MK
DH let me get up late and move a bit slowly in the mornings, which I appreciated. We got something light to eat before we headed out to Epcot. (I was feeling very icky, and ate maybe 2 bites of yogurt. You don’t want to be in WDW if you can’t eat.) We got to Epcot in time to do very little before heading to Alfredo’s for lunch. This was the LAST day that Alfredo’s was going to exist, and I just had to be able to say I had eaten there. So there we were. They sang a great song to us, and all the workers were taking pictures because it was the last day for a lot of them. The food was okay – I ate a little bit, and felt a little better. I got a tiny, kid’s size cannoli though, which was fun. I don’t really remember the specifics of each day, I just know we didn’t get much done on this trip at all. I think that this was the day we did the American Adventure to see the new ending. We also did Test Track and not really very much else.

That night was MK for the Pirate and Princess party!! pirate: I was feeling a little better, and we stopped in Cosmic Ray’s to eat. (I don’t get very much calcium, so I eat yogurt everyday for breakfast, and drink lots of water normally through the day. Not having vending machines or a fridge to use, I was just making my stomach hurt worse with my infection and dehydration….I just didn’t know it yet.) I got some yogurt, and ate a few of DH’s fries. I felt LOTS better after having something settling on my stomach. We stood in line for 45 min. to meet Jack Sparrow. That was a bit insane, especially since we don’t wait that long for a ride. But oh well….ladies, you know how it is.;) We rode lots of rides – POTC, Jungle Cruise, BTMR, IASW, PP, Pooh, Buzz, TTA…you know, all the good stuff…and Jungle Cruise. I gotta say, folks, the P&P party is no where near as awesome as MNSSHP. There just isn’t anything that beats it. We actually saw very few characters too…and normally at special events, they are everywhere. The parade was okay - Tink was the best part. The rest was just okay. The fireworks were pretty good – the pirates taking over the castle was AWESOME, and we wish they would put that into all their fireworks shows. Overall, we had a good time this night. However, we were very disappointed that they closed all the shops IMMEDIATELY at 12. We had done no shopping, and were not allowed to go in the shops. So, I don’t even know if they had special merchandise for the party, but I assumed so, and I missed out. Very sad.

Sept. 1
Epcot
Again, I don’t remember many specifics, but I know we started in Epcot, pretty late again. We had an ADR at Coral Reef at 12. If you remember, I had the diver set up, so I was excited. We were seated by the tank, as we had been told. We were given special menus with a personalized message from Nemo. Very cool! Lunch here was nice, we really enjoyed it. The divers were awesome, and DH was very surprised. I am so glad we got to do this. After lunch, we headed into Figment, right as it opened up and poured on us. That means, everyone else ran into Figment too….it was packed! We’ve never had to wait to get on a car before, and we had to wait (like 2 minutes). I was happy for poor little Figment. Then, we sat down in the gift shop to wait…and wait…and wait….and the rain poured and the thunder shook the building. It was boring…I was feeling really bad again…DH was getting agitated sitting still. Finally, we bought ponchos and walked back to the Swan in the rain and rested.

Later that evening, we were supposed to go to MGM for Fantasmic, but decided we would rather head back to Epcot and see Illuminations. So we headed over to the America pavilion for dinner…I actually think this is when we saw the show too. Anyway, we got some food….and I started feeling the worst I had on the trip. I couldn’t take a single bite. Smelling DH’s burger was making me queasy. DH a bit upset at me, and I just wanted to go home. We walked back over to Canada to see the new video and buy maple cookies. It was a very cute new video. I was nearly in tears throughout this part of the evening, and since DH was more irritated than calming, I sent him to get himself a snack while I sat in our Illuminations spot and called my mommy! :guilty: I cried for quite awhile to her, and she made me feel better. Then I ate some of my dinner that I had been carrying in my bag with me. I felt good enough by the time Illuminations started to enjoy the show. Then we headed back to the Swan.

Sept. 2
DH’s birthday!
This morning, I was determined that I would pretend to be cheerful, no matter how bad I felt! I was not going to ruin DH’s birthday. We had an ADR at Spoodle’s for breakfast around 10, so we headed over for that. It was packed, and we had a bit of a wait. We finally got in, and ordered. I got some chocolate milk, which made me feel pretty good for most of the day, as well as some pancakes. Quite yummy. DH ordered something with lots of different things I think. It was good. We decided to go to MGM afterwards since we hadn’t been yet. The Friendship boat pulled away right as we got there. So we walked back to the hotel and got the car to drive there.

We did Muppets, GMR, and LMA. The raining umbrella is working again! We got a Mickey bar…and that’s about it. We headed back to the room. That night we had an ADR at Kona for dinner before heading to MK for our last night. When we got to the room, the birthday surprise for DH was there. He was surprised and really happy about it, but didn't want to eat it. Without having a fridge, we just left it out, and then later were scared to eat it. It was some kind of key lime pie looking thing...it looked like it should have been refrigerated. We both took little tastes of it, but basically it got wasted since we had no way to store it.

Dinner at Kona was good…although the chicken noodle soup I got kind of made my stomach hurt worse for awhile. We got a couple of our favorite rides in at MK again before finding a spot for Wishes. MK had night EMH hours this night, so we figured we could do some rides afterwards too. Wishes was nice…DH was sweet and held my hand. (He’s usually so busy taking pictures, I hardly get to enjoy the shows with him.) Then we headed back to POTC again. We rode some rides…we did some shopping, and we headed out. Overall, a very nice day.

Sept. 3
We had planned to eat at Akershus this morning, to get into Epcot early. But I realized it wouldn’t really get me into WS early, so we had already cancelled it. We checked out, and headed to DTD to get some lunch. But it was starting to rain again, and was incredibly packed. So, we just went to the airport early and ate at McDonald’s before flying home.

Sorry this wasn’t as fun and detailed as they usually are. I just felt like I should finish it up. We did have some fun times….mostly at MK. We were not impressed with the Swan at all. Florida in August is unbelievably hot. I'm finally not sick, and ready to head to Flordiay tomorrow! The end.

Glad you are feeling better and I hope you have a better trip.
I was sick almost the whole summer and had the same symptoms you did. I wonder if I had food poisoning, my Dr. never said.

Looking forward to hearing from you again.
