Hi there! This is NOT my first PTR. I started one back in 2009 for our trip that was scheduled for Sept 2009. However, my DH's company gave everyone a paycut:headache:. Don't get me wrong, I was thankful he still had a job but it definitely messed my vacation plans up. Needless to say, we postponed the trip:guilty:. I went through a really dark period where I couldn't even come to the DIS because it would depress me ;).

Fast forward a year and I'm BAAAAAACCCCCKKKK!! Thus, the Take 2.

So, here goes nothing (let's hope these PTR's are not a jinx for me:laughing:).....

CAST:
Me: Melissa or, as everyone affectionately calls me, MayMay -30. I'm just your regular Disney addict who has to get her fix on the DIS everyday!

DH: Rocky - 32 (Today!!) He is my best friend. We've been married for 10 wonderful years and we have never looked back. He works in a warehouse by day and is a superhero by night (by that I mean he is a non-paid youth pastor for our church :)) He would never admit it but he loves Disney just as much as I do.

DS: Noah- 7yrs old, will turn 8 the week after we get home from our trip!! Loves all things Disney, specially Stitch. Loves the rollercoasters, but wasn't tall enough for RnRc last year.

DD: Bekah- 3yrs but will be 4 by the time we go to Disney. Loves princesses and is a girly girl. Only liked the face characters in 2008. Hated that everything was so loud and had to be escorted out of several shows by DH.

Maybe going:

DBFF's - Our best friends Karla and Russell may be coming along with us on this trip. They went with us in 2008 and we can't imagine the trip without them. Keep your fingers crossed! They love Disney but have left the planning up to me. (Little did they know they wouldn't be given a choice! )

DGS: - 5 yrs. My energetic Godson Javan will be there if the DBFF's come. He is the protector of my DD. He looks after her like a mother hen. They are best friends. Loves everything Toy Story!

WHEN:
September 4-11, 2010

WHERE:
POP Century

WHY:
Do I really need to answer that?;)

BACKGROUND:
We all went (along with one more couple and their 3 kids) to the World in Oct, 2008 and had the best time (except the one trip to the hospital by DBFF's). We stayed offsite in a beautiful 5 bedroom condo that we rented through my company and bought 4 day PH through the company and got 3 days FREE! It was the first for my whole family. The others had been there a couple of times. I didn't do much planning. I had only found the DIS a few months before I left but I did look and found a website that had the list of what park to do when so we kinda stuck to it and had no problem with crowds at all. Had only 1 ADR, Chef Mickey's. I had heard great things about this but our experience was not so great. The food was just okay (although the dessert bar was fabulous) and the character's went around so fast. It just didn't seem worth it. Plus my DD and DGS was terrified of them. Our ressie was for 9:30pm so that could have had something to do with the quality of the food. There was a lot of stuff we didn't get around to doing that I definitely want to try this time around. I'm hoping that Free Dining will be available during our stay but we won't be bummed if it isn't. We will try character meals again and see how the kids react. Hopefully it won't be so bad this time around.

I'll be back later to post some pics (I'm at work on break :rolleyes1).

Hi Melissa!! I'm joining in!! Happy Birthday to your DH!!! And you and I are the same age! My DH and I will be married 11 years this June! Your DH doesn't get paid to be the Youth Minister?! That's incredible that he would do that for no pay! I know the Youth Minister at our church works his tail off! How big is your church? Your kids sound adorable!! I can't wait to see pics! :goodvibes

Hi Becky! So glad you came over! I will tell my hubs you wished him a Happy Birthday! He had a good one! :thumbsup2
Our church is not very big, maybe 100 members, but we have a large youth group. We have a youth night every Tuesday night and we can run up to 60 kids. Some attend our church, some don't. The majority of the kids are bused in from one of poorest neighborhoods in town. We feed them and do devotion and let them play basketball and interact with each other. It's a lot of work but absolutely worth it! He doesn't get paid but the church does give him a love offering every month, so that is nice. :)
I'm hoping to have time before church tonight to take another shot at getting my picture up!

Oh wow!! What an incredible ministry!! That's wonderful!! :goodvibes Our church has around 1200 members. I just got back from church a little while ago. Wed. nights are usually later nights for us as my DH and I have choir practice--but we love it!! :lovestruc

Your family is just precious and your kids are so cute!! It's great to be able to put faces with names!! Is Bekah short for Rebekah?! Rebekah is my first name but I go by Becky!! :goodvibes

Hello! :wave2:

I am new to your PTR. :) I have never made the first page (besides my own PTR :rotfl:) We will be arriving the day you are leaving!! We would love free dining to be offered. That would be a great bonus! :goodvibes

Love you hair color--my DD is a red head too--though not quite as red as your DD anymore. :sad2: She goes redder during the summer if that is possible but that is what my DH does too. Do you have experience with the red headed temper and attitude? :rolleyes1

Looking forward to following along. :surfweb:

Thanks for the kind words. Bekah is short for Rebekah. But, don't tell her that. She hates being called anything other than Bekah :goodvibes.

Hi Chalefours! :welcome: Glad you made the first page. I'm not sure I've ever made anyone's first either (other than my own of course).

The red-headed temper and attitude run rampant in my house. I really feel for my husband having to deal with 3 of us. :scared1: My son's hair is not quite red-red, but he has the temper and attitude too. I would say I've grown out of mine but....:rolleyes1! :rotfl2:

Hi everyone! Today was a hectic day! I work in the accounting department of a global corporation and today was accrual day! Oh, how I hate accrual day! Anyway, it's over, so.....:cool1:
When we got home, my MIL dropped Noah off from picking him up at the YMCA and we went out to dinner at our local Japanese restaurant. I was so happy not to have to cook tonight. Now I'm having to deal with a grumpy DS. He had a very bad (behavior wise) day at school and so DH has him on a very short leash. He's not allowed to do much of anything except homework. I don't know what else to try with him. He can't seem to stay quiet during class. He had the same problem last year in K5 but it seems to have gotten worse. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm at the end of my rope and just need to vent! :scared:

We woke up this morning to an inch or so of snow. The kids are so excited! Those of you who live in the south know how uncommon snow is here. We have to take advantage of it while it is here. We're gonna have a snowball fight later on! :dance3:

HI Melissa!! Your trip sounds like a blast! Can't wait to read more!

Hi!!!! :welcome:to my PTR! So glad you are joining in.

I see you are having your wedding and honeymoon there! I think that is every girl (and Disney fanatic's) dream come true! I will head over to your PTR and check out your plans!

Well, it wasn't actually snow....Ice is all we got. No fun, but the kids went out to check it out for a few minutes anyway. It's all supposed to freeze over again tonight, so we may be stuck here for another day!

Anyone know how to make these pics smaller?

You can have some of my snow if you would like! This past week I think we've gotten about a foot. And it's about 14 degrees. YUCK!! :rotfl2:

Your children are beautiful!! I'm so hoping for free dining for our trip, too. We had it last year for our honeymoon and upgraded to the Deluxe. It was so nice to be able to go sit in A/C for an hour or so. :lmao:

I don't know what we would do with a foot of snow. Everything here shuts down if there is a hint of bad weather. :rotfl:

Thanks for the kind words about my kiddos. I think so too but I'm a little biased. ;)

I think we have a really good chance of getting Free Dining. I think it has been through late Aug and Sept for the last couple of years. I'll keep my fingers crossed too!

cute photos!! We are considering moving to NC at some point but even with only the occasional snow/ice, it would be a big change from Michigan!!

Thanks! I'm sure you'll get a lot less in NC than you do now. I live in upstate SC which is real near the mtns of NC and they get all the snow that comes around here. I don't know how the kids ever get done with school. They were closed for almost a week in December because of weather!

My sis and her DH live in NC and when I was visiting them a few years ago they got less than an inch of snow and it shut the city down. Seriously, all the schools and both their jobs were closed. :rotfl2:

I'm pretty sure we will get the free dining, too. I kjnow a bunch of people have gotten pin codes. :woohoo: So my fingers are crossed for both of us. :hippie:

We southerners are silly I know! :rotfl2:

We just have to remain optimistic about FD, right! :yay:
