the mysterious bunk beds

Hey everyone! My Disney vacation is exactly a week from today!!!! I could not be more excited As the details of our Wilderness Lodge hotel room are coming together, my family started thinking about bunk beds for our room. We think it would save space and also be more comfortable. However, the people sleeping in them are about 5' 10'' and I thought I heard somewhere that they are kinda short. I was wondering if any has had bunk beds or knows how short they are. And is it difficult to request bunk beds upon arrival? Thanks a lot for any help.

Yes you need to request the bunk beds before you arrive, this will give you a better chance of receiving your request.

we stayed at the AKL last year and my son was a bit over 6 feet tall. He had no problems sleeping in the bunk beds. His only problem was if he sat up too fast. Only took him a few times of banging his head to learn to move a bit more slowly. I think most people sleep a bit curled up, rather than lying straight out. When he was just lying on the bed, his feet hung over the edge, but sleeping was no problem
