Whatchaw think about the Mummy ride at Universal? The physical ride is fun, but the theme is just plain scary. That ride scared me to death the first time I rode it! And during the part where it stops, and they make you think the ride is broken, I panicked and tried to get out of my seat it scared me so bad! It's a good think you're locked in!

There is a Universal board here on the DIS. You might get more responses if you post there. I am a chicken when it comes to roller coasters but I enjoyed the Mummy.

My DS (then 7) and I loved it! Rode it many times thanks to FOTL. Can't wait to go back and ride it again. I love the parts that you didn't expect or see coming. I won't give them away for those who haven't ridden.

My DH, DD11 and I love rollercoasters. However, we did not enjoy The Mummy. I wanted to get out of my seat, too. I was disappointed. I heard great things prior to riding it.

LOVED IT! However, it scared me half to death and I screamed and closed my eyes through most of it =) Tons of fun!

 This is definitely an excellent ride, the best part is when you get launched through the Mummy's mouth and the major coaster part starts, also has excellent air time :Pinkbounc .

my sister went on a trip 2 florida.my sis loves rooler coasters and so every1 wanted 2 ride with her my granny doesnt like roller coasters but she loved the mummy!
well nite and happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, two people who wanted to get off the ride. Glad they have good restraints. The perception of the ride should change to reflect fun, that way people won't freak out.

yeah, trying to get out is a BAD idea, unless they tell you to get out of it.

i totally and completely love the mummy ride.

but

i can't stand it when people are screaming in my ear on that ride..........

Err... It probably was broken. Otherwise, I'm not sure what part you're talking about. :confused3

Speaking of which... I hate the restraints. With a passion. They're terrible. Worst. Restraints. Ever. I get any airtime at all and it's pain time! :headache: Not to mention the fact that the actual airtime producing hills are rather violent in nature to begin with. If they're going to have restraints that go RIGHT into your stomach, they should have at least installed bars to hold onto so you can brace yourself from moving forward.

That's at the fake unload scene, where it suddenly stops, the fake Team member welcomes you back, the glass breaks, and then .....no more spoilers, well except for the fire.

Even once my kids are tall enough to ride the Mummy, we will wait until the scare factor is more manageable for them.

I wish they would make this part more obvious that your suppose to get out... Like having real people there to unload you.... edit to add... any CM working in that area would be twice baked at the end of the shift! so maybe not a great idea!

if you like coasters, that mummy ride rules..........

it took me two times on the ride before i rode it with my eyes open !! :rolleyes1

I guess i haven't met a ride yet that actually scared me ? Mummy is just fun!

Does this ride go upside down at all? Does it have any big drops?

no upside down.............you will find that at the hulk

big drops you ask, can you qualify that statement?
how big is big to you?

there are a few drops, but heck, its a roller coaster. i don't think they are big
look at the size of the building before you go in, it is inside so it couldn't be that big of drops.
