The Mouse-KIDS are in charge...a Jan '12 PTR NEW 2/5 TR link & new tickers

Okay so instead of doing my own math from now on I'm going to hire you and Heidi to do it LOL!! WOW!!

Great decision!!! You guys will love the character breakfast!!!

:cheer2: Yeah for Rachel and 'Ohana :cheer2:

thanks princess:

Thank you for the charts. I'm glad you're going with Ohana. The food looks good and it got me thinking about Ohana for breakfast when we go. This is our second time going w/o DDP and I'm looking for fun but cheap ways to eat a few TS meals with the fam.

you are most welcome and :welcome: to my PTR too (BTW I have 1 more for an anniversary trip too...DH is getting confused w/ all the trip talking ;) )

yes there are some good ways and places to eat fun and cheap, takes some planning and effort but worth IMHO!
Is this what you had for pricing? It was $24.99 in May 2010 too according to that site (which I use a lot these days)

nope...too high but you scared me for a minute

I needed to answer my own pricing question because I didn't go to this breakfast on my last family trip because I thought it was $26 per adult.

This is from DISer pinkxray Dated May 2011

DisneyMay2011onSony115.jpg

Allears, which says it updated the Ohana breakfast page on January 2011, says the price is $20.99 and $11.99. :confused3

YES and YES I am going off the Allears site :thumbsup2

but crud decided to check wdw info and they say

Prices vary 15.00-35.99

what is up w/ that?!?! I'm going w/ allears and the Diser's reciept

Okay so instead of doing my own math from now on I'm going to hire you and Heidi to do it LOL!! WOW!!

I guess we are in high demand :rotfl:

Great decision!!! You guys will love the character breakfast!!!

thanks...we had a blast there in 2008, one of my most favorite character moments came from this restaurant too!

Yeah!! It looks like your new plan is great! Less money and fitsa into your schedule.

Hope Matt's neck feels better.

Joining in! How fun that the kids are so involved with the trip planning! I've never been to O'hana, but it seems like a lot of fun!

less money is key..I think I just figured out how to shave a little more off too

Hope Matt's neck feels better.

thanks Marsha...each day is touch and go...it will probably take at least a week to feel 100% again...now if he'd rest

hi SB and :welcome: I can't believe you have never been...you have alot of fun eats on your other reviews...I am looking forward to it....it will be a Hawaiian themed day for sure!

I am a MATH nut. I LOVE math...but somehow that Disney Math makes my head spin. I've analyzed our food choices, our room choice, the possibility of a discount, etc in multiple mathematical spreadsheets, :confused3 what can I say...I'm a PLANNER! An OCD one! :goodvibes

I think you definitely went the right direction with going OOP and choosing 'Ohana for breakfast. I want to try 'Ohana for breakfast sometime! I bet it's good!

P.S. - I love hearing all of the kids thoughts/comments on each step of the planning process. They're personalities are all so unique. It's cute! :cutie:

Phew, go out of town for a couple of days and I miss a lot! ;)

So happy you've gone with Ohana breakfast, think that is a great choice. :thumbsup2 I like the family style over buffet and the characters are fun!

LOL on the Disney math. :teacher: Figuring all that out always gives me a headache and whenever I try to go over it with Brian he just shakes his head and says "whatever you think" :headache: We went totally OOP on our June trip, didn't add up receipts but I know it was less stress than trying to use up all the credits.

So, what's next on the planning front?

well don't do that again ;)

So happy you've gone with Ohana breakfast, think that is a great choice. :thumbsup2 I like the family style over buffet and the characters are fun!

it will be a nice change of pace and Poly is just so beautiful! I am sure we'll wandar down by the beach for a look too hope it won't be too cold

good to hear...let me know if you do add them up :thumbsup2

So, what's next on the planning front?

I have more food to discuss...QS picks and some thoughts on NR eating choices...then we'll move onto park days...Bekah is away at camp for the next 12 days...so not sure exactly what we'll do right away...but I do have a bunch of family/life updates to share too...popcorn::

So the Character meal is decided: O’Hana (a few pixs from our first visit here in June ’08)

100_2031.jpg

I love this family pix of us!

100_2045.jpg

This was right after Stitch and Bekah scared the carp out me…bad Stitch!

100_2025.jpg

Look how small Naomi-Ruth looks

And the budget is feeling good and sticking w/ just OOP.

Now back to counter service meals and the kids picks!

Let’s start w/ a few easy ones:

AK: lunch @ FTBBQ we have eaten here multiple times and works well for our family…the girls aren’t as thrilled, but OK w/ it.

100_7312.jpg

I took this pix when I couldn’t get the menu up on my phone so we could decide what to eat

100_1577.jpg

Nathan declared this was the best chicken ever back in 2008

What the kids say:

R: “its sounds fun and we have eaten there”

N: “I like it because it has good fruit”

B: “onion rings!”

Based on the menu (allears) for 6 people, no desserts, a few shared sides and drinks (plus tax) I am budgeting $61.97

DTD-Marketplace: dinner @ EOS we have eaten here one time before and I just think it’s the best choice…so many things to choose from!

100_2467.jpg

100_2465.jpg

NR enjoying that jello in ‘09

What the kids say:

B: “it’s sounds really, really good and I like jello”

N: “I like sandwiches, the choices sound tasty”

NR: “jello”

Based on the menu (allears) for 6 people, drinks (plus tax) I am budgeting $44.66

Now it get’s a bit more tricky…

The MK choices:

We had some favorites and new ones on the list this time…the kids decided they wanted to eat lunch on day 1) after we arrive at MK so Casey’s Corner, a new place for us is on the list.

CASEYS.jpg

This will be one of three new places we’ll be eating at this trip

Caseys2.jpg

Really hopes it works out to catch him while we are eating…according to wdwent he should tickle the ivories around 1:35 pm (plus other times) this may work out perfectly!

What the kids say:

N: “I chose this because I like hot dogs and it’s close to the entrance and should make for a quick lunch.”

R: “I like hot dogs and sounds fun! And we have never been there”

B: “ we can eat AND see the castle”

Based on the menu (allears) for 6 people, a few shared items and drinks (plus tax) I am budgeting $42.18

We also had Pecos Bill and Pinnochio Village haus on the list but the kids decided they wanted to chill in the room longer when taking a break on day 1) so we cut one QS from the list. They kept PVH!

100_7961.jpg

Last yr 2010 was our first time eating here and now the kids want it to be the new tradition!

What the kids say:

N: “I chose this because you can see into IASW and it was very cool when we sat their last yr and saw all the boats and people.”

R: “I like sitting next to the window to see the small world boats, it’s one of my new favorites”

Based on the menu (allears) for 6 people (budgeting kid meal for NR but unsure she will eat here), no desserts and some shared drinks (plus tax) I am budgeting $51.25

Dinner at DHS:

Nathan was firm that we were eating at Pizza Planet…so we’ll do that (haven’t discussed the games yet), but not every child (or adult wanted to eat there) so we compromised w/ a split decision…not sure how we’ll work it yet, if 1 adult and 2 kids at one place and the other group at another or one adult will run food.

So besides Pizza Planet, we’ll also be getting food from the Sunset “market” QS booths.

100_0976.jpg

This isn’t the best pix but this is from our first trip and first time eating here in ‘05

rosies.jpg

We have never eaten here…but matt is thinking the Angus onion straw cheddar cheeseburger sounds good!

:cool2: Matt and I will also be on a recon mission in Oct. and make a special stop in Pizza Planet to inquire about getting a GF/DF pizza for Naomi-Ruth. I have looked on the allergy menus and they have frozen Amy’s GF pizza but those are made w/ dairy cheese, but they also have listed soy cheese. I also did further research and read about one guest who had a hard time getting the GF pizza for her daughter on the kids meal price…so we’ll see how easy it sounds to get and how long it would take…back up is bring food from villa for her.

What the kids say:

N: “I chose this because I like Toy Story and they have good pizza”

R: “I wanted to eat at the Sunset market because I will be w/ my daddy”

B: “I like the theme and pizza and salad too, I think it is fun to sit upstairs”

Based on the menu(s) (allears) for 6 people, no desserts, and some shared drinks (plus tax) I am budgeting $54.96

Our World Showcase smorgasbord:

EP: dinner @ Mexico , Norway and China for a combination of choices from Taqueria del Lago, Kringla Bakeri, and Lotus blossom Cafe.

100_1298.jpg

We have eaten in the old version of the QS place in Mexico before in 2008…Matt wasn’t a fan…but it’s worth a revisit this time. This was from 2005 and the twins sort of having fun LOL

100_2740.jpg

Rachel enjoying a treat from Norway in ‘09

100_2149.jpg

We haven’t eaten at the QS in China as a family yet…but here is Rachel having fun in ‘08

We usually always eat at our standby of Liberty inn when in EP so we are branching out a bit here…we couldn’t quite agree on one place and unfortunately I just don’t feel confident in finding food NR WILL eat here that fit our needs for her… vacay is just not the place to mess w/ her tummy or skin.

So what’s on the menu: from Mexico some guacamole and chips, from Norway some sandwiches and desserts, and from China a variety of options.

R: “I like eating in WS because I like trying new foods…but not always. China has one of my favorite foods potstickers”

B: “I like Mexican food and Chinese so this will be yard to choose from”

Based on the menus (allears) for 5-6 people, treats for all, shared food and drinks I am budgeting $60.97

Up NEXT: in my food series…snacks and treats.

Thanks for reading

J~

It's cute why the kids like the things that do. That being said....you do realize how far Pizza Planet and the Sunset Market are from each other right? Pizza is available at Cantina Eddies. Maybe a backup plan of a few games at Pizza Planet when you are near it and dinner all together at Sunset if it seems easier to do that day.

Looks like a great plan, someday I'm going to try O'Hana.

thanks :goodvibes

I know right? ;) and yes I do realize [how far] and yes I do realize you can get pizza/salad at Cantina's and that yes it would be way easier to just all eat at Sunset...but that's me

now Matt thinks it's not that far...but he also thinks we won't be cold in Jan ;) I have not gone there w/ saying "hey kids wdyt of...." but maybe when we get to actually planning the park day...or if I say "hey Heidi thinks..." they will go for it...they like your ideas better than mine :rotfl2:

thanks :goodvibes

:rotfl2: And just think - if something goes terribly wrong during vacation you can just blame me! But yeah, see how it fits when you plan the park day.

Life Update:
Wow a lot has been going on lately in the Mouse Scrapper household…

Before matt and Nathan left for Scout camp in June we had a small Father’s day celebration for Matt, here he is w/ the kids:

100_0334.jpg

I took the girls to a local children’s museum one afternoon to play. They had a special anniversary rate to get in. We hadn’t been in a long time and Naomi-Ruth really enjoyed herself where she plopped herself down to investigate. Rachel had fun w/ the large “tinker-toys” and Bekah spent most of her time in the Woodworker’s shop.

100_0415.jpg

100_0435.jpg

100_0428.jpg

And I got in the act to leave a lasting “Scrappie was here” note:
100_0441.jpg

We finally got to the pool the very end of June (Bekah was a t a water park w/ church youth group)

100_0450.jpg

And well Mom forgot sunscreen on NR’s face (plus some nasty red koolaid stain:
100_0462.jpg

We’ve been having some family fun lately too…

Matt and his fun pancakes:

100_0198.jpg

100_0196.jpg

100_0193.jpg

We had a Disco night:

100_0303.jpg

100_0283.jpg

You work it hunny…

100_0292.jpg

And more recently we did our American celebrating on the 4th w/ fireworks, a parade and a cookout…

100_0482.jpg

Waiting for the works

100_0483.jpg

NR said “it looks like Disney”

100_0505.jpg

NR at parade

Last weekend we saw Cars 2 and had a fun themed meal (idea from Mickey_Mom)

100_0472.jpg

100_0477.jpg

So that’s just a bit of what has been going on…

You know I always get a kick out of what your family is up to, Julie! As always, lots of fun! Did you put Fourth of July ribbons on Naomi-Ruth's chair for the parade? Very cute!

Matt made those pancakes??? Wow! I am doing good to make the standard blob ones and those don't always turn out the way they should! :lmao:

I am incredibly impressed at your pancake abilities! I can't even make mine turn out circular, let alone into legible letters!

I can't believe I missed this!
The end of the year and the beginning of summer has been so crazy, which has limited my DIS time.
Going back to catch up. :surfweb:

well welcome back and enjoy...I'll keep you busy between my two PTR's ;)

Those are some seriously cool pancakes!

thanks...you all will be giving my DH an ego boost...the trick is using plastic squeeze tubes like for condiments :thumbsup2

I am a fan of your pancakes too!:goodvibes Such a cool idea to use a squeeze bottle to make the letters.:thumbsup2

Everyone looks like they've had a very full summer so far. I love the picture of you and NR waiting for the fireworks on the 4th of July. Very cute!:cutie:

BTW, hooray for 'Ohana! The other CS picks look to be spread out very good for all the kids. I can't imagine how hard it is to get an overall consensus....
