First, it is not a long walk at all from Kidani to Jambo, about 10 minutes from lobby to lobby. You're young, you can handle it. Makes me think of that babysitter girl from The Incredibles: "Who can handle it? Who can handle it?" I love that quote.

Hey, I would gladly take 70s (even 50s!) right now. No, I shouldn't complain that much, it hasn't been that cold here. But warmer weather would be nice. YAY for single digits!

Other that the rainy day, that sounds like IDEAL WDW weather to me!! I was there superbowl weekend last year and it was downright cold at night and it was AWESOME! I did have to buy some clothes because I really wasn't prepared, but that's the kind of sacrifice I am always willing to make

First, I don't like the extreme heat at all, and second, the "cold" scares away the locals. Floridians seem to go into hibernation if it goes below 70! It was a delightful 4 days!! It was a little rainy (not too much though) the day I got in and I pretty much had the Animal Kingdom to myself. Really! It was unbelievable there was no one around. I could have walked onto the safari over and over had I been so inclined. You know the room on Pangani with the naked mole rats? I usually hustle through there because it is always so stinkin' hot and crowded. That day, the heat in there was welcom and th building was EMPTY except for me and one CM. The night of the Super Bowl, I got to Epcot in the evening and walked onto Soarin'. The place was practically a ghost town! Oh, and speaking of the Super Bowl, kind of a cool story: I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour the day before and when they took us into the building where they prepare the parade floats, the tourguide got a kind of puzzled look on his face. He was looking at a couple of cars and said "I wonder what they're doing here?" Then he said "OH! They're for the parade on Monday, waiting to be decorated with the colors of the winning team!" I thought that was pretty cool, but totally steared clear of the MK on Monday!

Anyway, cooler weather can be your friend! Embrace it!!

Weather looks great to me! You can always plan to do most of your stuff on indoor attractions and take in a little extra shopping.

Jen, I think you are going to have to do layers. Stuff you can tie around your waist when it warms up midday, and throw back on later. It got a little chilly (especially indoors!) when we were there in May because of all the rain. I wasn't expecting that, so I'd only brought on sweatshirt for each of us. We wore them every day! They could have walked home themselves!

You're right you know. I never thought of it that way. That would be great to have low crowds. Hope you're right! This makes me wonder if I should bring a bathing suit. Especially if it isn't going to get over to low to mid 70s.

That's definitely a good idea. I get cold VERY easily. Unless it's over 75, I'm cold. And if there's a breeze.... game over. For 5 days, perhaps 3 sweaters/hoodies will be enough? Darn it, I won't be able to flaunt all my disney t-shirts I'm surprised they wouldn't turn down the a/c a touch when the locals can't even take the chilly weather.

You should bring a bathing suit even if the temps are in the 70s. You might come across a heated pool.

To answer your question, Rebecca, no I have not even opened my suitcase to start packing The last couple of days have been pretty busy. Saturday I went to the barn for another LONG day. My body is sore but it was well worth it. Finally I remembered to take a picture of the horse I ride. His name is Laddie

He doesn't look very happy here but I swear every time I went to take the picture, he would put his ears back. Then, he'd put them forward after the picture. Silly horse. Laddie is currently my favourite horse at the barn

Before I get to my trip update, there's something I want to share with you. A few weeks ago, we celebrated my dad's birthday, which I might have mentioned in a previous post. What I forgot to mention was the cool Disney garden ornaments he got!!!! Bubba sent them home all the way from Florida

Mickey looks more like a mouse with his ears. My dad said these were too nice for the garden

Another important memo to note here is that, yesterday Canada won it's first GOLD on home soil!!!!!!

It was a proud day for us Canadians. The Olympics have also been taking up my time. My favourite events to watch are Short and Long Track Speed skating, Ski Jumping, and Downhill skiing. What events do you look forward to in the Olympics?

Do mine eyes deceive me? No rain? I won't rule it out entirely as nobody can predict what the weather will actually do 6 days out. The night looks to be quite nippy so I most definitely will be bringing a heavy sweater. Maybe even a light jacket. Let's hope my first day looks a little something like this

Some recent photos of Bubba were posted on Facebook. I know it's been pretty chilly down there lately but she's all bundled up in her winter jacket, mittens, hat, the whole nine yards. This poor girl would die if she came back to Canada now!

I'm working right through to Saturday so I'm going to start packing today. Normally, I don't feel like doing much after I come home from work. I'm either on the DIS or with DBF. Whenever a trip comes close like this, I never feel prepared. Even after countless hours of research, planning, checking the weather, and arranging...I still think I'm forgetting something.

Which reminds me. Last night I dreamt that Bubba and I were on our trip. But for some reason, Bubba didn't want to do anything that I planned. She was too concerned getting stuff done before her contract ended. At one point, we weren't even going to stay at Kidani. The whole vacation had gone out the window. I was mortified

Thankfully it was all a dream.

Never fails, a nightmare before a trip.

Before I go, I want to apologize in advance if I don't get a chance to comment on all the PTRs/TRs I'm following. I'm still reading, that's a promise. Just don't always have the time to post. Congrats on your Candian gold medal. My favorite events to watch are the short-track speed skating, and I've also enjoyed the moguls, women's and men's. The snowboarding events are fun to watch too, although I'm not sure when those will be held.

My dad would love those lawn decorations...he loves golf!

Congrats on Canada winning their first gold medal. It's still so crazy to me that they hadn't won one at a home Olympics! As you know from my PTR, I love the Olympics. I prefer the summer ones but have started watching more of the winter ones. My favorite event is definitely figure skating and all the snowboarding and skiing is interesting too.

I love to ride too, but the last time (other than a guided trail ride) I fell and broke my ankle.

I get nightmares too before trips. Forgetting to pack stuff, getting lost, losing one of my kids, etc...!!!

Only Two More Days! Woot!

I've been absent from commenting on my subscriptions, too, so don't feel bad. I'm all caught up on yours now. The weather looks fantastic! Highs in the 70's & lows in the 50's are right up my alley.

Here in South Louisiana, we actually get a bit hotter/more humid even than Florida from April to July, so we actually think our April/May trips are a cool-off! They're actually warmer than us right now as we've been having weird low temps & even a couple of snow days. Very strange! Usually our spring flowers have bloomed & new grass mostly grown in by now. It's just been rain, rain, sleet, snow, rain, rain. I'll be glad when Spring is finally sprung!

Hey all! Like I said, I've been busy this week!

Thank you for all your comments. I've read each and every one of them. Just don't have the opportunity right now to reply to them all.

The Olympics have taken up a lot of my free time. Until I realized I hadn't even started packing yet Then the adrenaline kicked in on Wednesday. I had 3 days to pack. You may think that's loads of time (for those men out there who pack in a day) but for us ladies who pack for every possible scenario that MIGHT happen; it's a bit more tedious.

I spent last night picking out an outfit for when we eat at Narcoossee's. High heels or sandals? Pants or skirt? White shoes or black shoes? I spent loads of time in front of that mirror, let me tell you. Is it healthy to be putting so much thought into this? I know Narcoossee's doesn't have a strict dress policy but I would like to get slighty dressed up for the occasion....

We're also going horseback riding. This means dirt. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind getting dirty. On the other hand, my nice new white running shoes that I bought last summer.... they sure won't be white by the time I'm done with the horses. And I don't want to pack a pair of bulky boots just for the ride. That would just take up too much space in my teen weeny carry-on bag. So black Sketchers running shoes it is.

I can check in for my flight tomorrow morning. I plan on waking up at 6am (yes, I'm that obsessive) to do web check-in. Reason being is that I'm going to try to change my seat. I'm sitting right about in the middle of the plane, which was the only seats available to choose when I booked. Now, when I go to check seat availability, it shoes a bunch of seats available closer to the front. Not that it's a big deal, but if I can get off the plane that much faster, yours truly will be a happy camper So I'm hoping that if I do web check-in early enough, I'll be able to grab one of those seats closer to the front. I would ask when I got to the airport, but I don't want to wait in the hefty check-in line. Boy, I sound like a picky princess don't I?

Checking the weather again, there is rain in the forecast for Monday. I'm going to take it with a grain of salt as the weather is always changing. Whatever will be, will be. I'll just be sure I pack for any inclement weather.

This might be the last update before I leave. Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day: Taking grandmother to hospital (nothing serious, just a check up) then work until 7pm (doubtful I'll get on here during business hours, it's been crazy here all week!) and then after work, when I get home, I'm going straight to bed (if I can sleep that is) for my early 2am wake up call
