$750 plus tx :faint:

It was for my 50th birthday and DH surprised me with a night at the Chicago Peninsular hotel, listed as one of the best in the world.

It was beautiful :cool1:
Holy crap that's alot of $$$ for a hotel room (but I'm sure you're worth it)!
Your Dh is my kinds guy!

Probably around $220 a night for a friend's wedding at a Marriott. It was the WORST hotel experience of my life, rancid smelling sheets, wrong wake-up calls at 2am, 3am and 4am, and not one apology.

It's funny because for Disney vacations, we usually don't pay more than $300 to $350 for a room, but on all our other vacations, usually to high-end resorts, the rooms can range from $450 to $900. For our next vacation in June, our beachfront room is for $800 a night and includes a person butler. We'll have to wait and see if it's worth it, but DH & I both agree we work really hard all year and that we're worth the indulgence.

we paid alittle over $300.00 for a hotel in las vegas a couple of years ago. This year we will be paying over $300.00 for the wl

$360 for one night at AKL, savannah view, AAA rate - I will never do it again, it wasn't worth it. Most I've ever paid after that was $150 a night but I usually use Priceline and get rooms for less than a $100

325ish at the Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point.

300ish for a hotel in NYC plus the parking so close to 400.

The most I've ever paid is $90 for a hotel room.

Well, it's official. I'm a hopeless tightwad. I'm having a coronary looking at some of these prices. :scared1:

The husband who surprised his wife with a $750 room is very sweet. But, my DH knows if he did that, I would kick his butt--after I regained consciousness.

FTR, we mostly stay at Embassy Suites when we travel and we pay well under $100 (because of family connections and consulting work that I do for a Hilton property--which qualifies me for the employee rate). Otherwise, we use reward points or shop for deals.

I paid 200.00 dollars a night for a Hampton Inn on Beale Street in Memphis for at last minute. Because my cousins wedding. They told us we staying at Peabody Hotel they lied did not tell us to the last minute at in 11:00p.m. that night before we suppose to leave that mornng. :confused3 :furious:i I had to find a hotel room quick because I was no staying at the Motel 6 that they have book for us.

The Hampton Inn was a excellent hotel and well worth the price. Will I ever pay tha price again no unlessI have to.

I don't think I've ever payed over $150 a night for a hotel room. I like to pay the least amount possible becasue I don't expect to spend much time there.

Rack rate for a night at the Beach Club last May before our vacation package started. For a 22 year old that's a TON of money, whew. Are we thinking of doing it again....yes. Why do I have to love that Disney World!

We just paid over $600 for one night at the GF RPC. It was very nice, but I'm not sure I'd pay it to stay there for more than a few days.

We go to a wonderful, very service oriented, top rated mountain inn every year for 3-5 nights, stay in the same room every time. It's got a king bed, settee, wet bar, and fireplace, and a lovely balcony. It's over $500 a night but so worth it to us. We recharge and it's the most relaxing place in the world for us--we spend over half our time right in the room, so the amenities are worth it. In fact it's the only "real vacation" we'll be taking this year. Our vacation budget has been slashed this year due to some unexpected expenses, and we decided we'd rather have four nights there than a longer vaation elsewhere.

Personally, the most expensive room I have paid for out of my pocket was the Poly in Decmber. Now the rooms I get when I travel on business is a different story ;) Can you say mini bar boys and girls :teeth:

Our most expensive room was about $750 two years ago. This was at the Four Seasons Hualalai on the Big Island. We booked the same room that Samantha Brown on the Travel Channel had. I thought it was the trip of a lifetime and DH thought it was way too much money. We go to Maui every couple years and stay at the Four Seasons and pay around $400 plus tax. Children through college and out of the house.

The most I've spent in recent years (past 2-3) is $135 in June for Montauk, NY which is right before peak season (july 4th) hits...then the rates go up to $250 or so...I'm glad I didn't visit during peak season, because the room would not have been worth it.

All the hotels I stay at are usually $100 or less. The best deals I've ever gotten was in Orlando...a hotel for $35 (and it was furnished better than the one in Montauk!).

The nicest hotel I've gotten for the money was this past February, we stayed at Humphrey's Half Moon Inn in San Diego for $101. That was worth more than we paid.

A couple of years ago we drove to Madison WI to see Bon Jovi, because we had missed them here in Chicago, we stayed at the Hilton Menoma Terrace. We got a fair last minute price, considering there was a Mary Kay Convention going on there. We got a Executive Room on the 12floor that you had to access in the elevator with your room key and also use it to get to the 14th floor (no 13th floor, of course). Executive Suites were on the 14th and the Conceirge Club, which we had access to. Bon Jovi was staying on the 14th floor!!!, right above us!!! I posted about this at the time with pictures, it was AWESOME!!! My DD wanted to be a big girl and use the room key to get to our floor. All the Mary Kay people thought that was cute and commented to her on how she must be special to have to use a room key in the elevator to get to our room. She said rather matter a factly for a 4 yr old, "Yeah, we're here to see Bon Jovi. They're on the floor above us where all the food is at." :lmao: It was priceless!!

We paid around $275 w/parking.

I paid around 300$ a night for the Hyatt Regency in Chicago in 2003

the most expensive was 345 for poly concierge lagoon view. it was for dh's 30th birthday. he still wanted to go back to his favorite Wilderness lodge -so much for my slurge at the poly!

We paid full rates of $249 for one of the Universal hotels and that's probably the most we've spent. I didn't mind too much though because I expect Loew's hotels to be expensive plus FOL was so worth it.

I wouldn't usually pay this much though and definitely not at WDW. I'm very happy with a moderate or one of the Lodges so I wouldn't go that high for a Disney hotel. I would likely pay more to stay in New York or parts of California because high rates are just normal unfortunately. That is, if I had the money to begin with. :teeth:
