The most romantic thing...

Hello everyone,
I was just sitting here thinking about my sweetie and how wonderful he is and I thought a good topic would be romance. So what is the most romantic thing your guy has ever done for you (besides the proposal because thats obvious )? Mine would have to be one valentines day I came home from school to find my whole room covered in hearts he cut out one by one. he is not much of a romantic do-er so this was special. but he sure can sweettalk me. Please share!!

For me it was his agreeing to follow a diet program with me. He has been by my side and just an active participant as I have been with it. We're both looking great and feeling better about ourselves as people.

Mine would be the night my fiance asked me to be his girlfriend. He suprised me by taking me to the California Grill inside the Contemporary Resort (we live in Ocala which is about 1hr-1 1/2 hrs north of Orlando). We ate dinner and then he took me outside to watch the fireworks. As they were going off around the castle, he asked me out. Then to follow tradition, he asked me to marry him on the beach at the Polynesian watching the fireworks go off at the Magic Kingdom. Maybe we will follow many of your footsteps and have a Disney wedding. Ahhhhh romance..... I'm loving it! : )

My fiance and I got back from our Engagement trip to WDW 1 week before my sisters wedding.While I was on vacation my other sister, my mom and the MOH decided on when they were going to have the bridal shower (which was 2 days after I got back home) but no other plans or decisions had been made and some how all of the planning became my responsibility. I was starting to get a little stressed.

To make matters worse my DF was getting a sore throat and so he went to the Doctor to get checked since he gets Strepthroat extremely often. Sure enough strepthroat.

Well on his way back from the doctor's office he stopped by Costco and picked me up 2 Dozen roses.

It was so sweet, he was the sick one but he knew how stressed I was getting so he bought me flowers

My pookie is so sweet so many times, it's tough to think of just one time. He's not much of a romantic and I'm a hopeless romantic... we went through a rough patch in the fall of 2004. He's never been much of a flower person, especially roses because he doesn't see the point in spending all that money just to have roses for a week or less. Well, he had to go to a meeting and our daughter was staying at his apartment. He had no one to watch her so I told her I'd come over until he got back from his meeting. When he came back an hour or so later, he had a single red rose for me. It was so sweet. He said he'd wanted to buy more, but he just didn't have the money. Things were pretty tight financially. I told him sometimes a single rose means more than a dozen. I left to go back to my house and found another red rose in my Jeep. So sweet. When I got home I walked into my bedroom and found 22 more red roses laid out on my bed with a beautiful note. I cried. He was really trying to make things right. About a week later, I was set to sing a solo at church and he was working at the Six Flags Great Adventure park in the Batman stunt show. He hadn't heard me sing in almost a year, and I knew he was scheduled to work that day. the night before, he called me and wished me good luck. As I was driving home from a friend's house later that evening, I saw him driving down the road towards me... we both stopped as we passed each other and he backed up to my car... he told me he was hoping to get to his place before this happened (meeting each other on the road). He had come home after working until 10 p.m. just so he could hear me sing the next morning. Not only did he come home... he stopped on the side of the road and picked wildflowers for me... that was it. He had my heart forever.... I am blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life and he is a wonderful father to our daughter also... Only 11 1/2 more months until we are husband and wife... I can't believe it...

I have two that battle each other. The first is a dating story and the second a wedding story. The first needs some background--dh hates buying flowers and really is not even remotely a romantic. He thinks flowers should be reserved only for the most special occasions and thinks they are a waste of money. He thinks romance is unpractical. Last Christmas (2004) he made me promise that I wouldn't buy him anything for Christmas. He said he wanted me to just save my money and pay off my credit cards. (I of course didn't listen--but what I bought only cost $30). The day before Xmas eve I came down with a violent 24 hour stomach flu. He took such good care of me. Then, Christmas Eve HE came down with it...the poor thing, I ruined his favorite holiday. No matter, in the morning, he told me I had to open my gifts!! He even wrapped them! The first was a beautiful vase with champagne flutes inside--he said they were better than flowers because they would never die! Then, he had a second gift! A $100 g.c. to the Grand Floridian Spa!!!!!! WE didn't even have a trip planned anytime soon, but it was so great...I had stopped planning disney trips because they always depressed me when he didn't propose The greatest thing is that I got to use the g.c. when we went down for our site visit--so it was very apropos.
The second one I think should win out, but I don't know if it counts because it is a wedding day story...We had disney videography at our wedding. The videographer was getting lots of people talking to us on the video...what I didn't know is that my husband snuck away and left a message for me. I didn't find out until our video arrived and it came on at the very end and he repeated the words that he had chosen when he proposed to me. It was SO sweet and very romantic and most of all, very loving. I couldn't believe that he thought of it and not me!!

So when he asked for the wedding co-ordinator's number because he wanted to ask her some questions about the day I never questioned him. Well to find out that he arranged to have Cinderella's glass coach to pick me up and then have Mickey and Minnie show up at the reception I was truly amazed. Tanis said he was so excited to be surprising me and he hoped that I loved them because he kept telling her I deserved the wedding of my dreams. Leading up to the wedding he kept telling everyone that I was getting the kind of wedding I deserved and I thought nothing of it, now I feel like he must think I am a princess because he treated me like one on our wedding day. Not much but for someone that is not romantic it is great.

I think having "non-romantic" type guys makes us appreciate romance even more . . .we never take it for granted!!

My romance was actually the weekend I fell in love with my DF. We had won a two night stay at a very nice hotel in the city and decided to use it on my birthday weekend (February, northeast, brrr). I work in the city and lugged my suitcase on the train and then into work; I am a "big" suitcase" kind of gal, so this was not an easy task. I thought my DF would meet me at work so he could help me with the trek across the city to the Hotel, but he insisted on meeting me there. Well I was not too happy because it was cold, rainy, and taking the subway during rush hour with a huge suitcase is not fun. When I made it to the room I was wet, upset, and exhausted. BUT, thats when he opened the door and let me into my little world of romance . . .a dozen roses on the bed, champagne, and rose petals leading into the bathroom, a drawn bubble bath with candles Everywhere . . .it was a dream!! Lets just say I was not cold anymore!

well engagement stories can count i guess. but i was just wondering what the most romantic thing someones guy has done for them. obviously everyone would have put their engagment because thats the romance that tops them all!! but if you have a really good one... please share!

My DH is a romantic. He does so many wonderful things. He wanted to propose to me in Disney, but couldn't wait 2 months to ask me to be his wife. One of the many romantic things he's done is buy me a mother's ring. (I have 2 kids from a previous marriage) The Christmas after we got married he took the kids the the jewelry store and had them pick out the ring for me and then gave it to me for Christmas. I had always wanted one, but wouldn't buy one for myself. I cried. I treasure that ring everyday. He's the love of my life and my best friend. He treats the kids like they are his own. Just ask the kids and the will tell you he's the best. Like the saying goes "Anyone can be a father, it takes someone special to be a daddy". Well that is very true, just ask them. He's a keeper!!! There are so many wonderful things he does everyday. I could go on and on!!!
