What do you think is the most popular DVC resort? I'm not talking about your personal favorite; but the one that you think is the most popular - the hardest to book, most desired among DVC members, the one that fills up first.

Based on what I've heard, I would have to say BCV.

What do you think?

I think the standard view rooms at BWV fill the fastest!

If the definiton of popular is the resort that fills the fastest or is most difficult to book, then the answer will always be one of the smaller resorts. In my mind, the other variable is time of year. So if it's Christmas time, it will be VWL. If it's summertime, then it will be BCV.

Best wishes -

It's kind of ironic that BCV is way out front right now. Maybe it's just my perception, but that resort seems to me to get more than an equal share of housekeeping complaints. I'd like to think OKW would be voted higher if this board were looking for a "personal favorite".

I do not know that I would necessarily agree with that. Now, I am speaking of only WDW DVC resorts. This board has always had it's fair share of very loyal and vocal OKW & BWV fans. Then VWL came on board and although their fans are much less vocal, they are just as loyal and a fairly large number. VWL fans have always reminded me of excatly the same atmosphere of the resort has--lay back, enjoy the place and watch the big doins' begin. popcorn:: LOL! Then BCV came on board and it has joined the ranks of the very vocal and very loyal OKW & BWV fans. Next up is our newest member to the DVC WDW fold: SSR. SSR certainly has a vocal and loyal following on these boards also.
So, point I am trying to make is, I think if a poll was made looking for personal favorite resorts on this board--it would come out pretty even across all 5 WDW DVC resorts.
Yep, I think we can say we have pretty much covered all the bases. And really that makes sense. Everyone has different likes and dislikes and the boards are a pretty good representation of this.

I voted for VWL because of the superb execution on a theme. My next would have been BCV because of location, SAB and a great theme.

I own at SSR, but my vote would be BCV with BW a close second. The pool and the location at both resorts seems to be very popular.

SSR seems to be lacking that something special to set it apart from the other vacation clubs.

Since OKW and SSR are the largest, and at least OKW is usually full, I would say that would qualify. I agree that BCV is one a lot of folks desire, most, but I don't think that necessarily means it is the most popular for stays, since it is also one of the smallest DVC resorts, so probably couldn't have the most reservations, therefore, not the most popular.

I think that depends on what factor you are looking at. But, if the price of resales is at all significant....BCV would be the clear winner.

you don't do the wine/food festavial?

how about summer, spring, fall with teens for that swimming pool.

how about april/may/june for the flower/garden festavial?

the same thing most people love about Epcot - they also love about BCV.

it is around 5 minute WALKING time to Epcot.

yes it gets more housekeeping complaints - but there turn around time is a lot less....

Also some people didn't realized that BCV was designed to look and feel old. SSR is not. they wanted it to look like SSR. the BC & BCV was grandmother cottage on the Atlantic coast. not grandmother main house. BIG DIFFERENCE.

I think once people realized this the complaints have gone down.

the only thing that could knock it out of its top spot would be a Cont or even better Polyn DVC resort.

the Cont would be walking to the MK.....just think on those nights when the entire park closes at once and there are thousands of people at the MK - you can easily walk to your DVC resort.... just like BCV & BWV can do now with Epcot and Studios. Instead of having to wait in a long line at the buses or monrail or boats.... :cloud9:

but the MK is the WDW park that most people think of when they say WDW.

BWV SV

Location, location, location
Value, value, value

If you are just talking about one "view" at a resort...then, I totally agree!! I am sure SV at BWV are the VERY first rooms to fill up. But, I think the OP was asking about a resort as a whole...not just one part of it. And, I think generally...the BCV's fill up before the BWV's do.

spiceycat...I totally agree with your assessment of the Cont/Poly trumping the BCV...UNLESS:

1) The Cont becomes another 800+ room resort. If that happens, the smaller DVC's will still have their "exclusivity appeal", or

2) The number of points per night was significantly more than BCV/BWV/VWL...then, those resorts would be seen as a "bargain" in the DVC world.

Now, if the Cont is huge AND expensive... :confused3

It does depend what you are looking for but no question the most popular pool is Stormalongbay and the most populat gellato is at BCV. Does any other resort offer gellato???

I would have to believe that one of the WDW/DVC resorts would be the most popular. Who could denie the short walk to WDW? Personally, I prefer Vero Beach, but every other year, we stay at our home (BWV) to experience the new experiences of WDW. It is about changes and experiencing the change. We love HHI, VB, VWB, BCV, WL, and not to forget the other great family sites like DIXIE LANDINGS! The best for the young family. Long live DIXIE LANDINGS!! DIXIE LANDINGS was our very best vacation as a young family. Please DVC restore DIXIE LANDINGS! Ok, I need to step down now... take a deep breath and look forward to my vacation at... VERO BEACH!... in just a few days. I'll try to give reports ongoing from VB. These will be early morning reports... I don't usually sleep-in at VERO. ANYBODY ELSE GOING TO BE IN VERO IN THE NEXT 3 WEEKS? ROLLCALL!

Oops... voted for my favorite rather than the perceived favorite. I think it's a toss up with BCV edging out BWV.

Nope!! But, BWV has its own claim to fame on the food exclusivity list....I heard they just opened a funnel cake kiosk on the boardwalk...man, my dh is SOOOOO excited about that!!!!

BCV then Boardwalk location is just to big a factor for me.
