The most perfect trip ever!

Brook - Great report! What a special mother / daughter trip, I really do love that Savannah had a chance to have a trip just about her for her birthday. Savannah's dresses were just too cute. Thanks for sharing.

OMGoodness you're going to have trouble with your DD, those big eyes and those looks she gives, she'll have boys wrapped around her little finger :rotfl2:

Wow - I think you should tune in to one of the recent podcasts. Pete addresses this issue completely in one of his rants about the "ADR fanatics". In Pete's words -there are a hell of a lot more important things to be worried about.

I seriously don't know how someone can knock a grown adult for foregoing what was sure to be an excellent meal in favour of attending an impromtu pre-teen event becuase that was what her daughter wanted to do.

How can you seriously say that this is not teaching your child about the right priorities in life? I don't think there are any negative messages to a child about cancelling a dinner reservation - seriously !!! Instead, the child got the message that she and her interests are more important to her mother than her mother's own interest in enjoying a nice adult meal.

ITA:thumbsup2

Your trip was very magical. You are certainly lucky and blessed to be able to go on two fantastics trips within months of one another.

I'm sure your daughter will have wonderful memories of this trip. :)

Just for the record - I would have canceled Le Cellier too, given the same set of cricumstances. Plans change and everytime I've called to cancel ADR's (even when I do it very close to the time of the ADR's) the CM's have been very appreciative of my phone call.

Yes, that would have been the responsible thing to do. She didn't cancel though, she "blew it off" and inconvenienced others. Cancelling would have been polite :flower3:

inconvenieced who? the hoards of people who Disney overbooks for the meal? Shoot there was most likely an hour long wait to be seated that night :rotfl2:

dining reservations are not like making reservations for other dining places ... its more like a fast pass rather than an actual reservation :scared:

I want to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your report. I have two daughters ages 11 and 13. Currently going thru a nasty divorce. This is my escape. One of the best nights my now 13 year old and I ever had was EMH at MK in 2005. It was magical.. and we still talk about it today. I was the most relaxed she has EVER seen me... Ya know what we did... what we WANTED.. for that few hours it wasnt planned... it was just me and my first born and it was the best memory of US she has.

Who cares that you didnt go to LeCelliur?

Did you make a memory to last a lifetime? This will be something she will tell her children about someday...

Congrats to you for making memories!!!

Bee:)

Brook...I think someone is "trolling" for an argument....

Hey MeerkatMama...MYOB it didn't involve or hurt you. JEEZ!

I love your trip report-you've got a lifetime of great memories from this trip.
I have a question about your daughter's shoes (I'm not sure if you posted about it before)-did you make them to match the outfits? They're really cute.

I actually had 1 ebay seller make the dress and then another seller to make the custom shoes for the dress. I sent her pics of the dresses and she matched them that way. They were so cute and everyone awwwww'ed when they saw her. She loved the girlie girl attention she got.

I love your TR
AND -
I would have cancelled Le Cellier too.
You go to Disney to have fun with your family and create memories... who cares if you miss dinner.
(I am one of those people who would love Le Cellier for dinner) I would have blown it off in a heartbeat if my kids had an opportunity like you daughter did.
You sound like a GREAT mom!!!:worship:

We went into the bat house and while I was looking at the bats eat their breakfast Savannah hollard to me "Hey mom you should see the skeleton of this boy bat" I looked at the very confused CM and then saw the light go off behind his head and he started laughing REALLY hard!!!! OHHHH I had to go see this hahahaha....

Listen i'm being straight with you. I know you like to be Mrs. Joker and all but the dis is a family friendly place and i don't think that type of bathroom humor is appropriate. Your trip is too darsh Gone good so please keep it clean.

:thumbsup2

A few things about this tour.... they say to be there 20 minutes early.... be there and please be ready...potty and all. no drinks or food unless they are capped drinks and food is in a sealed container... they are really funny about smells on the tour as the animals get nosey when they smell something good lol
We had 2 other families with us... 1 a newly wed couple and the other family.... family from HELL..... they showed up 10 minutes LATE...yes we had to wait for them.... Even the guides were rolling their eyes and sighing... the age is 3 and older but they had a 1 year old and they paid for her ticket and didnt mention that she was under 3.... the guides werent sure what to do so let it all slide... ticked me off too as this kid was a total BRAT the entire time LOL

OMGG How mean can you be? You don't know their situation; maybe theyhad no choice and their babysitter didn't show up?

I just had a scary thought; What if that family is on the dis and they read this? They might be mad at you. I'd feel bad.

Remember dingy family? Well the guide told us this particular giraffe was pregnant. They had just found out a few days beforehand that she eas expecting. Well the mother from FAMILY FROM HELL REALLY AND TRULY ASKED:
"Do Giraffe's breastfeed?"
I HAD to do it... ohhh yes I had to...
"Nope they run down to walmart and pick up formula on the way home from work.... here's your sign"
I said it laughingly and she thought it was funny but SHEESH what a ding bat :rotfl2:

I thought you were going to give us the answer;
In their defense I've been to the zoo many times and have been on that ride.

I've never seen a giraffe's nipple.

I agree. Lots of people want this reservation and cannot get it because of people like you who make the reservation and then just don't show up  .

I absofriggenlutely agree :worship:

I was going to type this almost word for word.
Lion King is my favorite Disney movie too!

I'm glad there are some people who will
DO the right thing! :thumbsup2

Maybe it would have been a good opportunity to teach your daughter that sometimes we can't do the things we like because we have prior responsibilities.
If your mad that you didn't get "reservations" to this top restaurant, get over it. Its a great way to "plan" another trip to Disney World. Part of the WDW experience is enjoy yourself nothing is set in stone. Although they didn't go to LeC, Some lucky couple who didn't have ADR got a surprise when they just walked up to the hostess stand and got a table! Great TR and its awesome that your getting to treat your daughter to a wonderful trip she will remember for the rest of her life!!

Maybe it would have been a good opprotunity to teach your daughter that sometimes we can't do the things we like because we have prior responsibilities.

OMFGG!!! I think i'm in love!:lovestruc

Its such a good thing to see people who will do the right thing!
My night is going so well!!

BTW this TR is not how someone didn't show up for a reservation, its about a mom bringing her daughter on a wonderful trip.

I can't believe all the criticism you've been getting. If someone doesn't like it, they don't have to continue reading...:confused3

I'm enjoying your report, I'm glad you and your daughter had the trip of a lifetime! I think any reasonable person would have done the same with the beach party. :thumbsup2
