The most perfect trip ever!

Sounds like you had a wonderful magical trip. Makes me wish I had a DD to take on a mother daughter trip. Your DD and niece and nephew are adorable. Congrats to your SIL and DB. We were married 15 years before DS came along. Sometimes it just takes a lot of practice until you finally get it right.:rotfl2: We took the Wildlife Discovery Tour twice and it was great both times. Each one is a little differnent. ITA the regular safari doesn't seem worth tiime time after going on the tour. We didn't use our FP's either time we went. Hope your toe is getting better. I just can't believe how rude some people can be.:(

Yes after over 12 years of trying and adopting 2 adorable children my SIL finally got knocked up :rotfl2:
We are all thrilled to death for the new coming member to the family. I took several shots of "jellybean" much to my SIL horror!!! :rotfl2: I wanted to show "it" later on that "it" was there with us at Disney :rotfl2:
Luckily my SIL and I are good friends so she took it without decking me... I mean who wants a bunch of pics of their gut in the family photo album :rotfl2:
Right now she isn't far enough along to look pregnant but far enough along to look overweight .... you know the 14-16 weeks are good for the self esteem :rotfl2:

forgot to ask about the AKG tour. i was thinking of doing a tour with my mom on our upcoming trip but she can't do a lot of walking. which tour did you take at AKG? was it a lot of walking? can you explain more about the vehicle they used? TIA

This was the Wildlife discovery tour. We went in a large van/ small bus type vehicle.... lots of windows to see out of with most of the windows opened so we could hang out the vehicle taking pics

This tour is for conceirge guest only and can be booked using IPO.

Great TR. I love the Mom and Daughter theme.

My favourite trip to WDW to date is the solo trip I took with DD. I have been back twice since and it hasn't even come close to matching the mommy-daughter trip.

I am planning another mommy-daughter trip for next April for DD's 6th birthday so I am getting lots of ideas from your report!

great update and pics.

just read it and it sounds like a great time.

shame on you blowing off Le Cellier, I have been trying to get a ressie there and cannot and you blow it off. :sad2:

Looking forward to more.

I know I wasn't thrilled but it was Savannah's birthday trip and she wanted to go to the beach party sooo bad :lmao:
She really is an angel of a child so I gave in.

I agree. Lots of people want this reservation and cannot get it because of people like you who make the reservation and then just don't show up  .

I did have the ressies 6 months in advance for a party of 2.
I would have loved to have gone to dinner instead of the beach party. The GF did not advertise the beach party until the day of it so how was I to know :confused3

I try not to base my Disney experience on dining but rather the fun we have doing stuff. Should I have gone to the dinner with my DD upset she was missing the beach party, making me just as unhappy "just because we had ressies"?
I don't think so. We would have both been miserable eating at Les Ceiller's and I did not want that.
We eat there every trip so it wasn't something "new" to us.
The beach party was new and different and tons of fun for my DD.
Besides, they filled my slot in a NY minute I am sure :rotfl:

Maybe it would have been a good opprotunity to teach your daughter that sometimes we can't do the things we like because we have prior responsibilities.

See I look at it a bit differently. I was teaching my DD that our life doesn't revolve around food. We live for experiences and the fun rather than from meal to meal.

She had a blast running, jumping and dancing with the other little girls. She still talks about the fun she had at the beach party and we have been home for over a week. It is the first thing she talks about when asked about her Disney trip :rotfl2:
Les Ceiller's would not have been at the foremost of her mind when talking about her trip. I pick the memories of her and I dressed like twins with our face painted and dancing to "music's in my soul" being silly as a memory she will carry with her forever :goodvibes

Day 8
IMG_1265.jpg

yup here it is ...our last day!
We called bell services and they picked up our luggage from our room and stored it for us.
We had express check out so no need to do anything there!
IMG_1268.jpg

Yup she is wearing the same pants from the beach party... I could NOT peel them off of her :rotfl2: at least I convinced her to put a new shirt on ...she LOVES these pants :rotfl:

we were supposed to eat at chef mickeys but it was 1.5 hour wait to be seated so we skipped it and went back to SL for breakfast

Savannah wanted to go back to MK just to wander around and last minute rides and looking!
I got her on haunted mansion which she ended up loving FINALLY!!! woohooo

She loves the jungle cruise and REALLY gets into it hahaha

We also did Snow white's ride and pp and its a small world AGAIN hahaha
We did thunder mountain too during the morning.
Then we headed back to Tony's for lunch. Here is a pic of the crowds at noon

I can't believe people are giving you grief about blowing off Le Cellier! You absolutley did the right thing! :thumbsup2

(BTW I am trying to get an ADR @Le Cellier for The Disney Divas in September!)

Here we are at Tony's for lunch... very few crowds and we were seated withint 5 minutes!

yes, my dd has manners ...she was just trying to be like lady and the tramp hahahaha

We then went to the emporium to look around and it started pouring!!! SOOOOOOOOOO we shopped for a little while and headed back to the resort. I did not want to be wet on the plane lol
Here she is talking to daddy
IMG_1322.jpg

IMG_1323.jpg

when they told her to make herself at home... she took them seriously hahahah
This china cabinet was in the lobby of SL. I thought it was pretty..

ahhhh Scott and I are friends and read eachother's trip reports... he meant noo harm in his post :rotfl2:
If I could have, I would have given him my ressies ... he did disney a few months back with his neices and nephew so he knows sometimes you got to do the unthinkable to keep the kids happy :rotfl2:

As to meerkat... I think she is being a bit rough to tell me how I should raise my daughter :rolleyes1

Then it was time to go out and meet our limo... we took some funny pics of her pretending to be sad about leaving.. and one with the greeter kicking her out of the resort as she was holding on to dear life lol
IMG_1335.jpg

IMG_1328.jpg

IMG_1340.jpg

yeah she made herself comfy in the limo too hahahaha

Here she is waiting for the plane... i titled this pic "death of a princess" as this is the point I realized my little princess was now a teeny bopper =( i almost cried when she kept putting her little hands on her hips and rolling her eyes hahaha
IMG_1343.jpg

our plane was delayed 3 hours due to weather OMG we were beat tired when we got home!!!!!!!

You have to be kidding? :rotfl: It was a dining reservation on a vacation!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: It's not like it's a birthday party invite and she will be HURTING somebody's feelings if they don't show. :confused3 WAY different scenerio.

I think it's a BETTER LESSON to teach your kids to GO WITH THE FLOW and sometimes you just have to make changes in your plans so you don't become a stressed out uptight person that feels the need to always color between the lines...and live in fear of being judged by strangers. :rolleyes1

IT WAS A VACATION!

Besides the whole "responsibility" point...Le Celliers is NOT that great. Not worth missing something spontaneous and special for....that party at the GF was a once in a lifetime happening. My girls would have LOVED to have been there for it. Le Celliers...eh. Take it or leave it. It is WAY overhyped on the DIS. And it's Disney's fault for making everybody feel the need to jump on reservations 6 months out....which is WAY to far in advance for anybody to know what they might want to be doing. People grab what they can and hope for the best.

I totally agree with Brook....it's not a good idea to teach your kids that your life revolves around FOOD either. :rotfl: The obesity rate is sky high.

I am loving your review and pics B!!!
Looking forward to more.:thumbsup2

More wonderful pics and thoughts! Loved reading this ;)

I agree that vacation is not a time to be obsessed with schedules--don't we all deal with that far too much on a daily basis?? Going with the flow is something our children need to learn too, it is just as important as keeping "real" committments. Glad the beach party was so memorable for you both! :thumbsup2

I also want to point out, if you read my trip report Disney is way overbooking meals..more so than even years past. With ressies we waited for an hour to eat at Prime time ..BIG MISTAKE... and we went to Chef Mickeys and it was a 1.5 hour wait to be seated...all with ressies!
We left chef mickeys and ate at the SL lounge for breakfast.

I am sure Les Ceil was so overbooked that the people waiting to be seated were thankful we didn't show up! :rotfl2:

Wow - I think you should tune in to one of the recent podcasts. Pete addresses this issue completely in one of his rants about the "ADR fanatics". In Pete's words -there are a hell of a lot more important things to be worried about.

I seriously don't know how someone can knock a grown adult for foregoing what was sure to be an excellent meal in favour of attending an impromtu pre-teen event becuase that was what her daughter wanted to do.

How can you seriously say that this is not teaching your child about the right priorities in life? I don't think there are any negative messages to a child about cancelling a dinner reservation - seriously !!! Instead, the child got the message that she and her interests are more important to her mother than her mother's own interest in enjoying a nice adult meal.
