This is my first ever Pre-Trip Report. After reading several others I thought it would be a great fun way to track my planning progress. I personally really enjoy reading about other people's holiday plans and would love to share my adventure with all of you. I would also love any advice that you can give me along the way. Whether you have ideas of things to do, recommendations for places to eat or even things you would advise us not to do or places not to eat, anything that will make our trip that little bit more magical will be warmly welcomed!
So without further ado, lets get this PTR rolling!
A little bit about us...
I guess I better start with a little bit about myself. My name is Lucia and the lovely person who I will be sharing this adventure with is Tom, my boyfriend of 3 years. We are both 20 years old but we will be 21 by the time this holiday comes around. Ill insert a picture of us below so you can see what we look like.
So why Disney?
Since I was very small it had always been my dream to visit Disney. Finally, my Disney dreams became a reality last summer; I went to Disneyland Paris with Tom and spent 3 days there. We had the most amazing time there and this just reinforced the fact I needed to go to Walt Disney World. Tom had already been with his family and he really wanted to go back himself, so, we took the plunge and booked to go together in January this year. Even though the trip had to be cut short due to unforeseen circumstances, I had the best week of my life, it was completely and utterly magical.
To me, Disney is about that feeling you get when you walk into Magic Kingdom in the morning and see the beautiful castle, its about seeing so many people smiling and happy, its about the cast members making you feel like you are a member of this one big family, its about watching the parades and shows and seeing all the characters from your childhood come to life. It all gives me a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy, its like the moment you walk through those gates you are able to forget about all your worries and become a child again! To me it is so much more than just a bunch of parks and hotels, it is the most magical place on earth.
We enjoy everything about the Disney Experience; the rides, the food, the theming, the shows, the characters, the whole experience and like to completely immerse ourselves in it. I guess you could just call us big kids?
We know that there is so much more for us to discover, to be honest Im sure we barely scraped the surface on our last visit. So, within 3 months of being home we had already booked up our next vacation. We are really looking forward to creating wonderful new memories together that will last a lifetime!
The plans so far...
So far we have booked a package through the Walt Disney World website. We have booked to go September 2nd - September 16th next year. Im sure some of you probably think were mad booking that far in advance, only 463 days to go as Im writing this! I dont see it as madness, I see it as plenty of time to ensure we make this vacation as perfect as possible.
The package we booked includes our flights, accommodation at Old Key West in a studio with a 35% discount, the free Disney Dining Plan and a $200 Disney gift card along with the other perks they throw in.
So the PTR begins...
I'll leave it at that for today as I'm sure I've rambled on enough! In the weeks and months to come expect all aspects of planning from food, to experiences, to visiting Universal, to general queries. Please feel free to share any ideas or advice you have with me. I look forward to sharing our adventure with you and hopefully we'll have some fun together along the way.
