The most fantastic, magical things can happen ............... Day 03 Update/July 18

I do want to time to take the Gardens tour someday. Sounds like you had wonderful time even with your delayed start.
I always look in Germany to see the "little" details for the season.

We did have a wonderful dinner there, great food and great company. I am so looking forward to going back home.

Yes, we are still alive! :rotfl2:
It's been quite some time since I updated and I had the best of intentions to finish this TR right at the beginning of my holiday, and now I am not even sure I will get halfway through.
Yes, I have been home for a week now.

But,
there have been a few hickups along the way.

First off, the last week of school started with us (two other teachers and myself) taking 40 13year olds to Salzburg. When we got home on Tuesday evening I was SO tired, but the next two days we were doing projects at school.
12 pupils, 10 to 13 years old and we had decided on doing a "sweet" project, making ice-cream and baking cupcakes and cake-pops.
Being in a kitchen for two sweltering hot days was hard and I was SO happy when it was over, even though it was good fun.
Then Friday we handed out report cards and were off on an "educational" teachers trip for two days.
After those two days I was pretty happy not to have to face my fellow teachers for the next nine weeks. They can get on your nerves.

I think I slept most of Sunday, then last week we did a LOT of cruise shopping on Monday.
On Tuesday our netbook decided to die and we were left with the decision of either taking my regular laptop or buying a new netbook. A new netbook it was, but then we had to find one that was to Tom's standards, was available without ordering and fit the budget. It took most of the day, but we did find one and ordered it and it was delivered two days later.
While I was away with the teachers the camera in Tom's mobile broke and his mobile started to get wonky. So this was the next thing that needed to get done was to find out if the phone could be repaired. Well, it was well within its warrenty and we were told it can be sent in for repair, but it would take about three or four weeks until we got it back. Didn't work, as we need it for our vacation.
So, what to do? Well, we bit the bullet and got Tom a new mobile phone and while we were there the shop assistant offered me a discounted phone (we get points which we can use) as mine was already five years old. Well, being in a shopping mood we decided to get one for me as well. Unfortunately we trusted the sales person too much and when we got home we discovered that the phone he had sold me has an on/off button that stands out. Yes, really stands out, so whenever you move the phone it turns on or off. Doesn't work for me. The next day we went back and he agreed to take it back, but it was another stressful day and night.
Needless to say we did not buy a new phone for me there, but we went somewhere else where we had to buy a regular mobile phone. Fun fact, it's called a 626 and has a Stitch blue rim. I had to buy it, didn't I?

Oh, and then the next day we decided that we had already spent way more than I had wanted to before heading on vacation, so we decided to replace my trusted point and shoot camera, which I had dropped a few months earlier and which had lately started to act weird.
That one was easy and it was not too expensive, but by the end of last week I was done!!

Now, yesterday I worked on the rest of our itinerary and remembered that I was way within my 60 day window for the last night before flying back home. I had originally booked Pop Century, but then there was no AP discount available so I switched for the price I would have paid for Pop to Port Orleans French Quarter. When I thought about how to spend those last two days it dawned on me that PO was not a perfect choice. So I went and checked what was available and reasonable for a night. Would you believe it, but one of the cheapest deluxe resorts was Yacht Club. Tried to change my reservation online and got an error code again and again, so I finally gave in and called to change the reservation.
So, we will spend our last night of this reservation at the Yacht Club in a Garden/Woods view room.

And today I started adjusting my planning to the new operating hours at MK. Will I ever get this finished?

Well, now you are updated and I can finally go back to reply to your comments and then update this TR.

It sounds like my life. Just when you think you will have time, something comes up...or breaks. We have had some of that last week too

You are forgiven for not updating with all that craziness! New electronics and Yacht Club! Very exciting.

We ate there for dinner both with my kiddos and when it was just DH and I, it was a hit for sure!

I was a bit worried, as we so often drive to Italy and know real Italian food, but it was pretty good and we will return soon!

Those are some long waits but not unexpected. I'm kind of surprised but glad the people called the group of teenagers out when they got to the FP check point. I've heard a lot of stories now of people line skipping after the first check point because Disney hasn't been using the second check point on all of the rides anymore.

We knew we were in for long lines travelling to WDW in the week before Easter, but those times were really stunning.

It was really interesting to see how they would handle those "line jumpers", but they would not let them past the second check point. And then there were those people who had seen them "change" lines and called them out.

I have yet to try Trattoria al forno but have heard good things. It looks like you had a nice meal.

You really need to try it. We often travel to Italy and this came close to the real thing. It was really good!

Yay for summer vacation! I love F&G Festival. Your tour looked great. Love the meet you had...you dinner looked delicious.

YES, yay from me too, if only the hickups would stop. :rotfl: And the many things we need to buy that tap into my vacation budget.

If you get to do the Gardens of the World tour, please go for it, so worth it! And spending time with Teresa and Mick and their family was just the icing on the cake. We had missed each other so often in the last few years, so this was really a treat.

Isn't it nice to stay in the Yacht and Beach Club area? So convenient.

We just love the Epcot resorts, so convenient if you want to spend a lot of time at Epcot or the Studios. It was great staying at the villas as we just crossed behind the resort and over the bridge into Epcot. LOVED it!

So glad they checked and took care of the line jumpers! If Disney rules are like other amusement parks that is automatic ejection from the park.

It was great to see them removing those youngsters from the FP line. When we still visited the amusement parks in Germany that was one of my biggest downers, loads of line jumpers, but this is Europe for you. ;)

Trattoria al Forno looked great! Glad you had a nice dinner with friends and that you could see at least some of Illuminations from your room :thumbsup2

I can really recommend Trattoria al Forno, the food was really nice and to share it with friends was extra special. Illuminations from the balcony = heaven!

Karin, when are you and Tom at the YC? I think by then we will already be at Universal but I wanted to check.....either way 8/4 :) MK or bust
I've got the date right I hope....

YAY for the start of your vacation!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

:beach:

Thank you for the pictures of the poster and pins. Those are great treasures :)

That Olaf pin is really cute and since we had no idea of getting the poster it was extra special. We will have one of them framed once we get back from vacation.

Great update. That coconut bar looks amazing popcorn::

If you like coconut you really have to try it. It is so moist and yummy. Can't wait for my next one next month! :goodvibes

Goodness gracious, you weren't kidding about it being busy at HS. I'm used to TSM having a super long line, but not ToT. Glad you had those FPs

We are kind of used to crowds, since we always either travel for Presidents week, Easter or the height of the summer, but those lines amazed us a lot. And literally everything had a long line. We got in line for the Great Movie Ride and it snaked all around the outside and would not move for some time, so we left again. It was really packed.

Sounds like a delicious dinner with fabulous company yet again. Glad you could get together with them again before they left.

We were seated at the same table during our third Disney cruise and found out that we were both on the DIS. Teresa and I hit it off right away, and made plans to meet again rather soon, but the last few years there were always things coming up on her and our side, so when they offered to drive to Florida in March it was the icing on our cake. We love them.

That is very interesting about the teenagers being escorted away after jumping the FP line. I think Pat saw somewhere recently they plan to do away with that second checkpoint, so that type activity is probably going to become more common. I'm not sure I understand that decision. :confused3

It was definitely interesting to watch them being escorted out. And I really hope they won't do away with a second check point or there will be loads more line jumpers.

We did Trattoria with MEK and Denny and had a great time! Something special about sharing a meal at Disney with good Disney friends! The food was really good too (including that delicious bread)! I'm pretty sure somebody ordered the Tiramisu.........that looks really familiar! :scratchin

Isn't it a neat restaurant! And even more special sharing it with some friends. I met some really nice people on here, you know. ;)
I have had too much "real Italian" Tiramisu to easily order one, and while this was not the real thing, it was still a pretty good attempt.

Good FP+ choices, there really aren't many others for that park. I need to go back there next trip!

You are right, there aren't that many choices. But at that time any ride could have used a FP. :goodvibes

Trattoria AL Forno looks really good. I may consider that for our trip in October as our first day isn't working out like I thought it would.

I can recommend it. It was very convenient as we stayed at the BC as well. I really hope you can get everything straightened out for your first day.

Happy Summer! Your big trip is almost here!

It's getting so close ..... only 15 more days! :woohoo:

Too bad you had to say good bye to Teresa hère.

It was sad indeed! We had so much fun.

Having a FP for TOT looks like a great plan for that day. Too funny the "line changers" got caught.
That tiramasu in a cup looks good enough to be worth making a ressie for :goodvibes

We were really lucky with our FP, as we were able to hit our favourite rides with little wait.

Send me a PM if you don't mind.

Just got your answer. :thumbsup2 Isn't it funny that we both didn't notice.

I do want to time to take the Gardens tour someday. Sounds like you had wonderful time even with your delayed start.

It is only offered during Flower and Garden, but so worth the money and time. It was so interesting and there were so many little details that you "see" but never notice, if that makes sense.

We did have a wonderful dinner there, great food and great company. I am so looking forward to going back home.

Hope you will be able to go back soon! :thumbsup2

It sounds like my life. Just when you think you will have time, something comes up...or breaks. We have had some of that last week too

Yes, you are describing my life. Just when you think everything is in order, something new comes up. Hopefully we have replaced everything now and can start getting ready for vacation and a little updating.

You are forgiven for not updating with all that craziness! New electronics and Yacht Club! Very exciting.

Jill in CO

Ah, thank you Jill! It's awesome that my DISfriends are so so forgiving when it comes to my slow updating.

To be honest, the one night at the Yacht club excites me more than the electronics. :rotfl2:I just LOVE the Yacht Club!

Karin, when are you and Tom at the YC? I think by then we will already be at Universal but I wanted to check.....either way 8/4 :) MK or bust
I've got the date right I hope....

Yacht Club is August 6 - 8 and September 9 - 10. I am pretty sure this is already your Universal part.
But I am so looking forward to Aug 4 at the MK. Let's all ride the mine train together! :cool1:

4 months later and I haven't started my Australia TR....I can forgive anyone. :)

Day 4, March 23

Retail therapy and Extra Magic Hours - Part 1

Going to bed early had its advantages, as we were up by 7am, and after taking showers we had some breakfast in the room and by 8.30 we were on our way to the Animal Kingdom. We were surprised when they directed us towards the former disabled parking lot and there was no need for a tram as we were able to just walk to the entrance. Today we wanted to look for Elaine’s daughter Rachel who was in the Disney College Programme and working at Animal Kingdom at the turnstiles. So after going through bag check we walked up and down the several tap points but did not see her. So we entered the park and looked around the entrance again and then gave up, thinking she might start later. We picked up a park map and then walked towards the Tree of Life, but we did not get far, as D-Vine was out

DSC_0822_zpsdsvrerev.jpg

and we stopped and watched for a while. It’s funny, because the more people stare at her the more people stop and are just not sure what you are looking at. People watching at its best. Soon we found ourselves moving on again and met the masses

DSC_0828_zpswbyuzujs.jpg

in front of the Tree of Life and it was then that we noticed that we had missed the official opening of the park and people were already on their way to the attractions. We had not made any Fast Passes for today, as we thought being there early we would be able to ride our favourite rides without a substantial wait time. So we turned right and walked past the Nemo theatre and over to Everest. To our disappointment there were cast member outside telling everyone that it was down at the moment and to come back later. Okay, bad move on our part, as now everyone was walking over towards the Safari, which we assumed would have quite a line already. But since Fast Pass wasn’t in full swing we might have a chance. So we joined the hikers who went over there and soon found ourselves in Harambe,

DSC_0830_zpsppuctakz.jpg

IMG_8229_zpsmohqlj4t.jpg

just to find out that the Safari was down as well. There was already quite a line outside the entrance and we decided to join them and wait it out, but about 10 minutes into the wait there was an announcement, that they did not know when they would open and that it would definitely be a while. So, what to do now. Tom looked at the app and it looked like Everest just had a short wait, so we walked right back there again. We arrived and saw people leaving the ride through the entrance which meant, it was down again.
Okay, what to do, what to do?
What about Dinosaur, not our favourite ride, but at least a ride. Guess what, once we got to the area, there were cast members telling everyone that Dinosaur was down too. We were both hot from walking back and forth, so we decided to go and cool down and check out the stores. So, after a restroom break we headed into the store, looked around for a while and discovered that they still sold the DVC Pandora charm, something I had tried to buy online, but the shipping to Austria would have been more than the charm itself, so I never ordered it.
We stopped to buy the charm and a few little other things, then moved on to another shop. And after looking around for a bit we decided that instead of trying our luck with Everest and the Safari again and stand in line for quite some time, should they be open, we would just leave and drive offsite to the outlet stores. So we headed towards the exit, looked for Rachel again, but she was still not to be found and soon we found ourselves on the way back to the car.
We stopped at the Beach Club, as my new open shoes were hurting me, before heading to Disney Springs. We looked through the stores and spent quite some time at the World of Disney,

IMG_8233_zps6vxa2dc1.jpg

got a free chocolate sample at Ghirardelli’s and picked up a few small things before heading back to the car.

IMG_8237_zpspkf3r8et.jpg

It was already past noon and we were ready for lunch. Tom had asked to have some offsite stuff as well, before we had flown to the US, so, since we were already in the area we went to Steak ‘n’ Shake. We were quickly seated and ordered Diet Cokes and Tom ordered an

IMG_8238_zpshyaty2za.jpg

IMG_8239_zpsqytjz9h1.jpg

Oreo Cookies ‘n Cream Milkshake, as well. Once our drinks were served we placed our order for burgers and then it did not take long at all for our lunch to be served. Tom had decided on the

IMG_8242_zpsruomu5ce.jpg

Jalapeno Crunch Steakburger, A Double Steakburger seasoned on their fiery hot grill with pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, fresh salsa and jalapenos, all topped with French's® French Fried Onions and fries. I was not quite that adventurous and had ordered the

IMG_8241_zpsk5hjjfdx.jpg

Original Doube ‘n’ Cheese. Our most popular Steakburger! Two hot-off-the-grill Steakburgers with American cheese on a toasted bun and choice of toppings also served with fries. Both were really nice and hit the spot and we were soon out on the road again, this time we wanted to go to the Prime Outlets that were used to be the Belz Mall.
Traffic was crazy, cars were bumper to bumper until we left the freeway and then again on International Drive. Once we got to the Outlet we could see that the car park was full. Really full. We drove around and ended up on the far side of the mall, no parking anywhere. We finally saw a family loading their stuff into the car and waited for them to depart and park in their space. Off we went to head into the Mall and had no idea where we were. So we knew the direction of where to go, but it did not look familiar at all. We went on, took a left, took a right and NO, this did not look familiar at all. Where is a directory when you need one. We went on and finally after quite some time we came to an area that looked familiar. Being on the far side of the mall we had had no idea just how large that mall was and had not walked far enough to get close to the Disney outlet. But in the end we did find it and looked around for a while, then picked up a basket and started shopping. They had lots of fun things, so we easily filled up the basket and then some. We left the store with two big bags and huge smiles on our faces. Still, we had to track back to the car and stopped into a few more stops on the way, thankfully this time without doing any more shopping. It took a bit of time until we finally returned to the car, put our shopping in the boot and off we went. Next stop the other outlet mall behind Lake Bryant.
Again, traffic was heavy and when we got close to the mall we saw that parking again would be a pain and we were a bit pressed for time, especially if we wanted to chill for a while, so we just stopped by the Publix that is behind that mall, did a little more grocery and snack shopping and then we returned to the Beach Club. Thankfully we found a spot close to the villa entrance and from there we hauled all our bags up to our room. Once back in the room we rested for a while, then unpacked and had another good look at all the fun things we had purchased. There was the need for some coffee and we headed down to get some milk and I picked up a

IMG_8246_zpswgrtmehh.jpg

IMG_8247_zpscvyhxhsx.jpg

Peanut-butter Cupcake as well. So, we then had some coffee, I nibbled on the cupcake and soon it was time to get ready again to head out. About half an hour later we found ourselves in the parking lot and on our way to the Magic Kingdom.

IMG_8248_zpsfbr2rdcn.jpg

We had an ADR at The Wave and went straight there. We were a bit late, but they did not mind and after checking in I asked about Easter Brunch. Thing was that I had made a reservation when it first became available, but after a few weeks my reservation didn’t show up on the My Disney Experience site, nor were you able to book it any more. So I asked if we still had the reservation and was told that there were computer errors and our reservation for sure was there for Easter Sunday.
They handed us a buzzer and told us to take a seat and as soon as we had sat down the buzzer went off and we were taken to our table. Our server introduced himself and took our drinks order, brought out some of the

IMG_8250_zps7zamu8qe.jpg

multigrain bread and

IMG_8252_zpsa9r2b9cx.jpg

butter with red sea salt, while we were still deciding on what to order. We ended up with kind of the unusual choice, but we were so happy with them in the end. Tom ordered the

IMG_8258_zps5l3hgcni.jpg

The Wave Fried Rice with Sweet chili Bean Curd, Bok Choy, Shiitake Mushrooms, Wonton Crisps, and Tamarind Drizzle and I ordered the

IMG_8253_zpsnrrl29y9.jpg

IMG_8254_zpsxepsghih.jpg

Seared Potato Gnocchi, Porcini Mushrooms, Asparagus, Blistered Tomato, Chardonnay-Herb Butter, and Pecorino Romano. They were both really good and something really different from what we usually order. Tom didn’t want any dessert, but I had seen something that I seriously wanted to try, the

IMG_8260_zpslxwoomos.jpg

Chocolate Flight,

IMG_8262_zpsrimmuaqc.jpg

German Chocolate Cake with Salted-Caramel Sauce, Chocolate Ganache, and Toasted Coconut,

IMG_8261_zpsgnpk2yao.jpg

Chocolate Crème Brûlée with fresh Raspberries,

IMG_8264_zps6nkcpyqv.jpg

The Wave Chocolate Brownie with White Chocolate Ice Cream and Godiva Chocolate Sauce. And while we were really surprised at how good the main courses were, the dessert was nice, but nothing to write home about.
Soon after I had finished my chocolate dessert we asked for the bill, paid for it and were off to the Magic Kingdom. It was Extra Magic Hour and I had made some Fast Passes for the night, so we could at least enjoy a few rides. It was close to 8pm when we arrived at the park and we headed right to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad for our first Fast Pass of the night. The standby line was huge and we were surprised to see a line going up to the tap point for the Fast Pass as well. Once you had tapped your magic band you were free to just walk through the line, up to the second check point where lines joined. It did not take long to get down and board that train. We always ask to be seated in the last compartment and we had to wait a bit, but were on the second train out and when we got off we headed right over to Main Street for Wishes. We walked through the stores on Main Street and about 10 minutes before it was supposed to start we walked out and found a nice spot, just to move somewhere else when some people decided it was time to step right in front of us and put their kiddos on their shoulders. So we went a bit to the side, rolling our eyes and it did not take long until the next group of “considering parents” decided that it was fine to squeeze in in front of others and this time, mom had the little guy on her shoulders, while considerate giant dad had the other sweetheart on his hip, than standing close to each other they built a wall. Several people, including a lady in a wheelchair complained, but no one moved. Again we moved a bit and this time we at least had somewhat of a view of the castle. And yes, I know the fireworks are up in the sky, but it is nice to see the castle as a backdrop and not your little guy’s behind.
Once it got dark there was a bit more moving around around us, but in the end we enjoyed the fireworks. Once they were over we went back inside the shops until most of the crowds had subsided and then headed over to Adventureland again. We wanted to go on the Jungle cruise, but the line was far too long, so we went over to Pirates, which had been down and had now reopened and the line was still short. It took us about 15 minutes to get onto the ride and we had a row for just us and enjoyed the ride. Once we got off we knew that we would not catch the Main Street Electrical Parade, which was already on its way, so we made our way over to the Haunted Mansion for our next Fast Pass. Again, we just walked through the line and were only stopped in front of the front door, but within minutes we were asked to step inside and into the stretching room and ….. into the room that was filled to the brims with people. Slowly we all moved forward and after a few minutes we actually got into our doom buggy. We had not seen the end part, where ghosts were exchanging heads before, so that was good fun. By now there was still and hour until Extra Magic Hour. We had a few more minutes until our Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Fast Pass was kicking in, so we walked in that direction and then went over to where the big tent is and explored that area. We did a little people watching and about 20 minutes into our Fast Pass we finally went on the mine train ride. Again, it was good fun, but we soon found ourselves getting off again. We walked around a little more and ended up close to the Jungle Cruise. Can’t hurt having a look at the standby time and it was only 20 minutes, so we hopped in line. We actually were on the second boat out and had a fun time exploring the jungle and the backside of water. After the ride we were way into Extra Magic Hours, but we both were tired already, so we checked lines in Fantasyland, but they were far too long for us to wait in, so we decided to head back to the resort. There was just one more ride we wanted to get on, the Peoplemover. It was a short wait and soon we were seated and off to a nice leisurely round around the area. Once the ride was over we were ready to head out of the park

IMG_8275_zpssk4mk077.jpg

and back to our car and about half an hour later we had finally made it back to the Beach Club and fell into bed.

To be continued ..........

I need to come back and read the AK update, but my goodness that sounds like some stressful days replacing electronics :faint:

And fun with the kids but also exhausting! You've been busy since being on vacation!!

Awesome about the Yacht Club on the last night :)

I'm planning on going to the parks the weekend of July 31, my AP expires that day. Will you and Tom be there yet? Would you want to get together for a little bit if you are? No pressure at all.

ETA: just went back and reread your itinerary, I see you won't be here quite yet. But it's coming up soon :cool1:

I can't believe everything was down at AK. The outlets sounded like a zoo! You dinner looks delicious. I can't believe those rude people that stood in front of you during the fireworks!

Sorry about AK especially the safari being down. As a parent I can't imagine blocking others views, which reminds me I am bummed no more wishes FP. Loved the openness of the grassy area.

So i'm not a big coconut fan but this looks good! I've been really making an attempt to try more coconut items (although I do enjoy the school bread which has coconut :confused3:confused3 i'm such a weirdo!)

To say the park was packed would have been an understatement. When we got close to the Tower we could see the line snaking around to where the entrance to Fantasmic is.

Oh my.

We looked at the proposed stand by wait time and it said 105 minutes.

Wow, pass on that!

What happened was, that once we entered the building and got to the second check-point their magic bands did not work and some of the people ahead of us, who had seen them change lines as well pointed the fact out to the cast member there.
We were really surprised to see him call for help and the teenagers were escorted out. Wow!

:rotfl:That's what they get!

And a minute or so later Tom and I found ourselves in the library and then in a long line in the boiler room. Everyone chose to turn right into the first line, we chose to go to the back line and were assigned a row a short time later.

:thumbsup2

Polpetta Gigante, a Beef and Spinach Meatball over Ricotta Cannelloni and rich tomato sauce for his meal, while I ordered the

This sounds so delicious and rich.

Tagliatelle alla Carbonara, Local Organic Eggs, Pecorino Romano and House-cured Pancetta.

Ooh but this sounds better, good call!

Tiramisu, Lady Fingers soaked with Espresso and layered with Italian Mascarpone Cream. It was creamy and had a very good coffee taste and was just the right size, as it was pretty heavy.

:faint: Oh yum!

Good picture!

First off, the last week of school started with us (two other teachers and myself) taking 40 13year olds to Salzburg.

:scared1: You are so brave. I don't know how you teachers do it. You must have so much patience :worship:

OH my goodness, I bet you were done!

o, we will spend our last night of this reservation at the Yacht Club in a Garden/Woods view room.

:cool1:

And today I started adjusting my planning to the new operating hours at MK. Will I ever get this finished?

Nope! :lmao:

Beautiful.

It’s funny, because the more people stare at her the more people stop and are just not sure what you are looking at.

Exactly!

Holy cannoli I don't think i've ever seen that many people at AK before! Crazy.

Ha that's cute, never saw this.

just to find out that the Safari was down as well.

What about Dinosaur, not our favourite ride, but at least a ride. Guess what, once we got to the area, there were cast members telling everyone that Dinosaur was down too.

What the devil is going on with all these ride closures?!

:lmao:

We always ask to be seated in the last compartment and we had to wait a bit,

We do too! Way more fun in the back.

just to move somewhere else when some people decided it was time to step right in front of us and put their kiddos on their shoulders.

So we've now gotten into this stage where Calvin wants to get on DH's shoulders so we make sure to stand in the back. I seriously don't think people 'get it' when it comes to putting kids on shoulders. I think just from being a DIS'er and reading on TR's about this type of etiquette, I (we) know better than to block off the view of others behind us, but i'm not sure other people do.

Glad you got all your electronic devices replaced! It is a pain to do but now they are all done :flower:
That is awful all those AK rides were down when you were there! Awesome you found some good bargains at the Disney Outlet. What a crazy busy time though! I am drooling over your peanut butter cupcake and the Wave looks amazing as usual.
You must be getting excited for your trip!! :cool1:

Oh my, how disappointing about all those closures at AK :(

Sounds like a delicious afternoon though, and big bags from the Disney store are always a good thing! Do you bring extra suitcases to take purchases home?

Glad your Easter reservation was safe. Dinner looked very yummy. I've heard only good things about the Wave but haven't been there yet.

Your evening at MK sounds like it made up for AK. Lots of fun :) The People Mover at night is so relaxing.

Not cool about the rude people at the fireworks though. Glad you found a good spot eventually.

Sounds like a rough morning at AK! That's a crazy amount of closed attractions.

Those burgers look good.

I haven't done the wave yet but have heard good things. That brownie dessert looks amazing.

The evening at MK sounds great! It seems the fireworks always bring out the crazy in people thinking they are entitled to the best viewing spot possible.

That's a lot of stuff to replace. I think I need to send you an email. I'm not sure if we have everything settled. :faint:

I would be really upset if I walked all over AK and everything was down! Glad your night at MK worked out!

Yikes Sounds like AK was having some start up issues that day. Such a crazy morning but good that you had a Plan B and were able to salvage the morning with outlet shopping.

Yikes on the traffic! It is hard to enjoy your day out when you are stuck in it. I can see why you made the decision to head back to the resort.

Looks like a yummy dinner at the Wave. With all that chocolate, your dessert should have been divine! I hate it when they skimp on ingredients, and it tastes like packaged dessert.

You got a nice EMH night in. I don't know why people are so inconsiderate. There is such an attitude of "I'm the only one on the planet" I'm glad you eventually got a peek at the castle.
