Ok, I know you have to let the CM at the queue (sp?) know that you'd like to ride in front. Can you do this at all the stations or just the TTC? I called WDW but kept getting different responses.

And can you ride the entire loop? Thanks!

you can ask at all the stations if you can ride in the front, or if someone else is already waiting - no, they have always made us get off the monorail when riding in front at the next station - i suppose if no one is waiting to get onto the monorail when you arrive at the station, you might be able to - why not?

The absolute best front seat ride is from TTC to EPCOT. It's xx miles long, you plenty of time to chat it up woth the driver, you get the full loop around spaceship earth. If you do one, that's the one you want.

We have a 5pm ADR at Chef Mickey's that's why I tought maybe we could ride the monorail loop around Seven Seas then get off at the Contemporary. But if we can ride the entire loop (TTC-Epcot-TTC?) at the TTC-Epcot monorail maybe we'll just do that and then just switch monorail to get to our ADR.

You can do it at any station... just be aware that it's not always available.

We were able to do a full loop. It was mid-afternoon and not a whole lot of people riding the monorail at that time. If I remember correctly, we did it from the Contemporary.

And that if you ride from the TTC to Epcot in the front car, you may well have to exit and move to another car for the return trip. There'll likely be another party waiting at Epcot for the front car.

We have been denied because there were people already in the front car. The last time we were at WDW, we asked to ride in front, but there was a couple already in front. No one asked them to move. We were told that they could take two more, but that was it. Since it was my dd's birthday, as well as her friend's birthday two days later, it would have been nice, but the girls didn't want to ride with strangers.

It is very hard to get this, as they only allow 4 people and the word has gotten out. Politely ask each time you ride the monorail -- that's what we did, and after many failed attempts, we gave it one more shot and did get to ride in front from the Poly. to the MK. It was a fun experience, but definitely not one worth being disappointed about if you don't get.

We were able to make the loop after dinner at Chef Mickey's one night. Here's some pics of DDs driving monorail.:goodvibes

We were just chatting it up with the CM on our last trip and they invited our younger son to "drive". Gave him a monorail pilots card too..Very nice, can't beat the view..

Sounds cool! But we will have no kids with us, just three adults. Will the Cm's still accommodate us?

no children isn't cause for penalization. as a solo traveler, i've ridden up front many times.

stitch even got to drive once

A CM invited us to ride up front on our trip in Nov. Very magical! We were one of the first families up the ramp at MK and just missed a monorail. He asked us how many in our party, and directed us to come stand in the front spot. Never even mentioned what it was for. My kids were thrilled!!!! Too bad we were getting of at CR.

I'm sorry. I don't understand. Why would anyone ask the couple to move? :confused3 Perhaps they asked to ride in front as well.

We were lucky enough to get to ride in front once because there was a family in front of us with a stroller, and strollers are not allowed up front, and they offered the first spot to us. We, however, did get a dud of a driver. He was complaining that no matter how hard he tried, he always wound up in someone's scrapbook, and he told us that many CMs were calling this year's promotion "A Year of a Million Nightmares." Just a generally unhappy guy.

The only time that we have been asked to move from the cab of the monorail is when riding the resort monorail. I was told that the guests at the resort had priority over the guests already there.

That may or may not be true, but DB and myself were able to board the resort monorail at the TTC and when we got to the GF, we were asked to move out of the cab to allow GF guests to ride up front. No big deal, we transferred at the TTC for a ride to EPCOT up front.

not that i do it every day, but i've never been asked to leave the nosecone. i've been coupled with other groups, as long as it remains under 4 people, but never asked to leave.

i don't even know how you can prove preference for a resort guest. i've never been asked if i was a resort guest and i've gotten on multiple times at both poly and contemporary. it's pretty simple. the driver pulls in, the station CM gets a look or a signal to indicate how many spots are available in the nosecone and if it's full, you wait. i've sometimes had to wait 4 or 5 trains at the resort.
