So I basically did NOTHING today, but DIS, lay on the couch and watch chick flicks all day and I watched the Wedding Date...the one with Debra Messing...know that one?

OMG! I flippin' love that movie!!! Isn't TJ at hoot??? "Would someone buy my whoo haw a drink?!?!?"

Oh and love the mental picture of the chicks-on-a-stick...did you get an A on it? Was it for school? Did you say? Or does he do these kinds of things often?

Yup, it was for school! He used to do crazy random things like that..... wait, he still does crazy random things, but now it's just due to senility! One time in a restaurant to keep us entertained, he cut slits in cherry tomatoes, attached them to a fork and pretended to make them talk. Then he made them throw up all their goopy seedy inards. You got it, a proud moment for my mother!

I started this the day before yesterday, but finally finished tonight....

Wooo Hooo – We’ve already passed the 99 day mark so we’re officially into Double Digit Dancing phase now! It’s officially “time to shop”. Well, who am I kidding…any time is a good time for shopping. I was just looking for a reason to shop. The 99 day mark is as good as any. So come 6pm tomorrow, I will be at JC Penney taking advantage of their huge sale…More to come on my conquests later this week.

Ok, so now I’ve made some sporadic changes to the rest of my trip so I guess it’s time for a re-cap…

The trip dates haven’t changed. We still arrive on the 21st around lunch time and depart the morning of the 27th.

You all may recall that I’d booked a studio at SSR, after some long, drawn-out, dramatic arm-flailing-eyebrow-waiving disagreements with DH. We had 107 points to use (or lose) by August 31st, so all of a sudden my “Chick Weekend”, which had become a “Family Weekend”, was now a “6 Night Family Vacation”. I could have a studio at SSR for 100 points. A 1BR unit was 200 points. Hmmm…ok, so I tried every version of V’s Fuzzy Disney Math I could to come up with a way to finagle a 1BR to make DH happy. Nope. No way. Unless we flew down on a Saturday morning for our Big Focker Meet and flew back out on Sunday. 1BR units during this time frame are 50 points a night. Gulp. During the week (Sun to Thurs) it’s 25 pts a night whereas a studio is virtually half that.

I was fine with the studio for 6 nights.

But was I really?

It nagged at me.

I’ll be honest.

I couldn’t even tell you why. Exactly.

But that was neither here nor there.

And it was neither Italian nor pork.

But apparently it could have been barbeque.

I didn’t see the show.

Anywhooo…

So where was I? Ok, I started booking some ADR’s.

I booked a Fantasmic! DP to start off our first night. Way to start a trip, eh? And then I booked a dinner at Cape May Café towards the end of the week. That was all I had.

Crazy, isn’t it?

I know! And oddly enough…for a time I was fine with that. About a day.

Then, P & P dates were announced and that changed my Fantasmic DP. So that’s change No. 1. I booked dinner at Tony’s for the 21st (P&P Party) and cancelled the Brown Derby.

Then I finally decided to do the DDP, which requires making more ADR’s…

I booked Boma for dinner on the 22nd…Mmmmm….Zebra Domes…and thanks to Tracy, I no longer have to eat 30 of them wondering why I didn’t get a buzz…she didn’t either. Note to self…go easy on the Domes!

On the morning of the 23rd Michael has his pirate cruise so hopefully DH and I can grab some breakfast or something together. Maybe hit the pool at the Poly? Can we pool hop at the Poly? Hmmmm….I should look into that. I booked WCC for dinner and then plan on hopping over to the MK for Spectro and Wishes. Yes, Tracy…it’s the 23rd….they ARE doing Spectro. LY, MI!! Anyway, dinner’s later than I’d wanted – 7:10pm, but I wanted to eat there again.

Past tense. Now I’m not sure if that’s where I want to eat. Hmmmm…gonna have to think about that one…

Then I think we’ll hit Epcot for the day on the 24th. I scheduled lunch at noon at Alfredo’s. Then I cancelled lunch at Alfredo’s. Then I called back again and booked Biergaren. So that’s change #2. I made a dinner ADR for Cape May Café at 7 and I’m hoping if we time it right, we can catch Illuminations afterward and then walk around the Boardwalk.

The 25th is our big day! While DH is playing golf with Tracy’s DH, Waldo and Jo’s DH, all the girls and kiddo’s will spend the day together at the pool. Then later that night, I’ve booked DH and Michael dinner at the Turf Club (Tony didn’t want to go far – told you guys!) while I’m out with the girls for our big Focker night!

The 26th we’ll be at MGM, ending our last night with a dinner at Brown Derby and Fantasmic!

Then the morning of the 27th we have to head home.

Sounds like it’s going to be a great week.

Oh and I made one more change. I changed our room from a studio to a 1BR. Tony will have to be surprised cause I’m not telling. He’s made such a big deal over staying in a 1BR as opposed to a studio. Fine. Done. Shut up about it.

So that’s change #3. Technically it’s change #6 if you consider that I initially booked PORFQ and cancelled. Then booked a studio for the weekend. Then stretched it out to 6 nights.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Member Services starts screening my calls.

I did get told to have “a Magical Day!” during one of my last calls to Disney Dining! YAY! The Magic is back!

So now I have to consider what to do with that WCC ressie. Then I was considering doing HDDR…I want to check it out and every trip I say “next time”, so I think we’ll do HDDR “next time”.

Speaking of next time I’m already thinking ahead to our January trip.

So I’m “Multi-Tasking”! I think I’m going to book DH a Rookie Experience at the race track. Maybe give him that for Christmas. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Christmas gift and a special day for Dad on vacation.

I wouldn’t mind doing LaNouba again. But I’m getting ahead of myself with that one. I also think I may “shop around” and change my residence that week. I’m booked at SSR, but DH and I have been thinking of trying out another DVC resort.

Perhaps BC. I’d like to try OKW too. Plus it’s less points. And I hear they’re bigger.

So that’ll be change #1…

Oh and on another note…DH, Michael and I went shopping to JC Penney’s biggest sale of them all. This month. We all got new clothes. But I saved a bundle. The bill, before all the discounts, was….GULP…. $917. After all my discounts it came out to $501. MUCH BETTER. But still too much! AAACCCKK!!

And then we went into the Hallmark store. Because Michael had to have a pair of…drum roll please…CROCS!

I walked out of Hallmark $130 poorer…after my 2 pairs (flip flops and Mickey’s), Michael’s and….BIGGER DRUM ROLL PLEASE…DH’s pair of flip flops!! Yes, that’s right. He’s crossed over!

So it’s been a big, expensive night for the Lauralee131 family…

There’s changes to be made…tee times still to be booked on the 23rd…and I’m sure, lots of arm flailing and eyebrow raising!!

I didn't do WCC for our trip. Am I missing something great? I wound up with Tony's for our first night, which wasn't thrilling, but I figured since we'd be in MK... I tried for Chef Mickey's and Ohana, but... I did debate WCC as a fun and hopefully quick boat ride. Glad to see that at least you're not avoiding Tony's either.

I ordered my DS's some Crocs, and they won't arrive until the weekend. This is not good, as I would like to break them in, and we leave in, oh, 11 days!

How do you keep track of what's being planned for now and what's for January?

Great minds think alike. Last night I was working on our May trip. Did you know that DVC doesn't ask for your income? And if you buy through Disney they don't run a full credit report? I think I may be able to pull off buying into DVC afterall! Bwuahahahahaha!!!! OMG! Andy will have a coronary!! Bwuahahahaha!!

Me - actually I was going to PM you this morning for Waldo's name...Tony wants to play at Lake Buena Vista, which I think - and don't quote me - is the course that SSR is "on", BUT I read somewhere that it'll be closed so I was thinking Magnolia. Thought it'd be cool for them to play on a "professional" course. Of course, Jo's DH IS a professional so I guess even when he's on a putt-putt course it then becomes a "professional" course

I think it's around 11:30...I'll have to look. I could have booked a later one, but it's almost an hour and 40 minutes to the airport so I didn't want to get home too late since Michael has school the next day. ALthough I don't want to leave that early either....

Yep! We financed thru Disney when we bought as we were getting ready to move and I didn't want to add all that debt to our credit report right before we had to get a new mortgage. I paid it off when we sold our house a few months later, but it never showed on my credit report or anything.

WCC is a fun place to eat. Loud, but fun. We've eaten there quite a few times, if nothing else, for the laughs alone!

My DS's crocs are a bit on the small side so he's going to need a new pair soon(ish), but they made him happy. He kind of freaked out at how big the others were...I tried to tell him, but...nobody listens to ME. I'm just the Mom...

Ridiculous, isn't it? BUT in my defense, only a bit of that was for me...the rest was Tony - who desperately needed some new clothes and a bit for Michael as well.

Penney's is having one of their BOGO sales...just about everything in the store was buy 1, get one for $ .99 Then I had a coupon for an additional 15% using my JCP card.

So, I am trying really hard to follow your fuzzy math...pjv is slow... How did you find the point to bump up to a 1 br? I thought that you had just enough for the studio? Did you rent from someone? Did you borrow from another year? Does any of this effect the Jan. trip?

Oh, ok....see what happened was, I was going to actually rent/transfer points from a lovely lady whose points were expiring at the end of August too...I needed 200 pts total to upgrade to a 1BR, so I was going to get 100 from her. The killer with DVC is the weekends...points like double for Fri/Sat stays. So anywho...this lady wanted $11 per point...which would have put me at $1100 just to upgrade! I called Member Services, inquired about a DVC member discount on room rates if I paid cash. The way I figured it, if the rate was decent, I'd pay cash for 2 nights and use points for the rest...well, turns out the rate they quoted me for a 1BR was $277/night...a mere $554...MUCH, MUCH better than $1100! And I didn't even need to do any FDM to figure that out!!!

What is WCC? i am going through all of my abreviations in my head and just can't come up with what that is!?!

It's Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL...it's a lot of fun and really the food isn't too bad. Typical Disney eats, but it's fun for kids and grown-ups

Way to work the DVC system!!! You go girl! We've done a Friday/Saturday with DVC cash discount and it worked out great! Just make sure they link your reservations, and make a BIG deal out of it at check-in. Tell them that you reeallly don't want to have to move, if at all possible... it has been known to happen... but it probably won't at SSR. If you are thinking of trying another DVC resort - OKW is really nice. It's HUGE, too, compared to what we're used to. We really liked staying there, and are considering it for Christmas 2008. Anyway, I'm glad you got your 1-Bedroom villa! DH will be happily surprised.
