The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Great pictures Glen! You are right - that is the best bathroom on property. I remember going into the ladies room and thinking - "this place is amazing".

When I see your pictures I really want to go back to Kidani. Seriously - best scenery, best theme, best food. I love that place.

I hope the "fam" was up when you got back to the room.

:woohoo: for finding the missing pictures!

Great pictures and ever-amusing commentary. I just love the way that AKL looks and when I first saw pictures I didn't think I'd like it! :confused3 You're very lucky to own DVC there. Hopefully, when the boy is a bit older, we will get to stay there someday.

Great pics.....love the gal using the PChef products as part of her costume, the king of the hill bird, and the glennbo in action pic. I took a pic one year of at least 3, maybe all 4, of my guys standing in basically the same spot taking a picture of the same thing.:lmao: we were watching the welcoming train roll in at mk and I was waiting off to the side while they took a variety of pics only different based on the various heights of the photographer and quality of the camera. :sad2:

1 Judy plus 0 Judy's for a total of 1.

Correct! You have successfully ah, dethroned Magdalene. At least for now.

You win this round's points!!! :cool1:

Gosh a Bridesmaid again

1 judy

You've got that position nailed down in this game.

Thanks for the walking tour! Very pretty.

You're very welcome. Thanks.

Thank you! I love it there. Kidani I mean...not just the bathroom. :rotfl2:

We'll see.

Trouble was, we didn't even realize any were missing. We completely forgot about them.

Thanks Tina. AKL is a great resort. It gets a bad rap sometimes for being "so far from everything", which I don't think is an issue. But maybe that's a good thing -- it keeps the demand down.

I hope you get to stay there someday and experience it.

Isn't it neat to see different pictures of the same thing, taken at the same time? Of course there's always the famous "taking a picture of the other person taking a picture of me" shot.

Continued from previous post

I talked for a little while with a cast member from Africa, who was stationed out at the animal viewing area. While talking, I thought I should take the obligatory photo of the lobby window.

IMG_3603.jpg

And yet, I'd never seen that view before, so thanks!

Attention fellow Glennbo-sters: Shameless plug: I've finally started my TR (I'm sure you've all been on the edge of your seat waiting ) Come on over!

Great update, Glen. I love the photos of AKL...they are making me all the more excited for our trip in September (see my new ticker).

I found you !!! I have been pretending to check my work e mail that I had not checked in 12 months !!:lmao:Cuz noone told me I had one !!:rotfl2::rotfl2:546 e mails but they were easy to check I just deleted them:rotfl2:but it gave me supposed legit computor time !!;):lmao:

I had to go over to the water guns and get some pictures like Jenbear took.

How about some new movie titles, like:

“Dr. H2O”

“The Man with the Aquatic Gun”

Or “The Spy Who Lavaged Me”

:rotfl2: You are too funny. Love how I could inspire you to take these pics. Too bad you didn't have a target that morning. Great titles too!

Thank you for the fabulous walking tour of Kidani. It's truly like an amusement park in itself. So much to see and explore.

I have some truly amazing (and VERY funny)memories from some of the very spots you went to on your Savannah trek. I could sit on those balconies with rockers forever. Well, at least until I got hungry and my ADR at Sanaa was up.

I still love that picture of DeVine! So pretty!

The Spy who Lavaged Me?? :rotfl2: Very creative.

I hate it too, when people are so rough with the toys at the resorts. That"s why there are half as many hammocks at the Poly now too. If there are any at all. :confused3 What idiots. I've seen some videos posted here in the DIS that make my blood boils of people practically jumping on them, and them snapping and then laughing.

Sorry my posting time missed you. Your guess is right, but unfortunately...too late.

Marlene takes pix like steph parts of her legs up close of her head .. it has to be a teen thing!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think you're right. Teens see the world a little differently than the rest of us.

Wow, that's good. I can really hear it. Really!

Good, 'cause I spent entirely too long working out how to write it in "ding dinga ding ding" form! (And composers think they have to use that "dots and lines" method of writing music. Ha!)

And yet, I'd never seen that view before, so thanks!

I've seen it around the DIS, but I'm not sure if I had taken a picture of it last year. Marv recently posted one on his PTR thread back in December, before his trip.

Attention fellow Glennbo-sters: Shameless plug: I've finally started my TR (I'm sure you've all been on the edge of your seat waiting ) Come on over!

Yes, DISers...get yourselves over there. I told her if she wrote it, she'd have readers, so back me up! (And she has a very creative theme for it.)

Sending you a WAAAHHHHmbulance Rosie!!! BTW, notice there is a change in my siggie! Kathy has already been asking where you were!!! :rotfl2:

I hadn't heard the WAAAHHHHmbulance joke yet.

Okay DISers, here's another new TR to jump on. Click on Marvin's new link in his signature.

Great update, Glen. I love the photos of AKL...they are making me all the more excited for our trip in September (see my new ticker).

Thanks Kathy.

Oooo, that's exciting! But good to see that you're still getting some days in at your favorite, CSR. :goodvibes

After your faulty-phone story (the phone that just needed to be turned on), I completely believe this. You are too funny Rosie!

So you just selected all the e-mails and hit "delete"? That's the best way of checking e-mail!

:rotfl2: You are too funny. Love how I could inspire you to take these pics. Too bad you didn't have a target that morning. Great titles too!

Yep, remember at the beginning of the TR that I said there were several pictures inspired by various DIS-friends?

Yeah, the only target I had was that snake that looks like Kaa from "The Jungle Book". So, no war-correspondent-type of photos from an actual water battle this time.

Thank you for the fabulous walking tour of Kidani. It's truly like an amusement park in itself. So much to see and explore.

I agree!

I have some truly amazing (and VERY funny)memories from some of the very spots you went to on your Savannah trek.

Can't wait to read about them. :hyper:

I could sit on those balconies with rockers forever. Well, at least until I got hungry and my ADR at Sanaa was up.

I'd like to...but I still have trouble relaxing at Disney. So much to do!

I still love that picture of DeVine! So pretty!

Gracias.

The Spy who Lavaged Me?? :rotfl2: Very creative.

I don't think that word is supposed to be used as a verb, but I think it makes it funnier that way. (Yes, I laugh at my own jokes. In fact, sometimes they're just for me. Good thing, too...considering how most of them go over. ;) )

I wasn't aware of the abuse of Poly hammocks. That stinks. Some people don't consider anybody but themselves.

Before I start into Day 7 of our trip, I have to report that I located some previously unknown (to me anyway) trip photos. I forgot that there was another photographer along: Marlene. She had her Kodak point-and-shoot camera along with her, although she didn’t take it into the parks every day. On the afternoon of Day 7, which we haven’t gotten to yet, her memory card got max’d-out and I gave her a spare card of mine and put her old one into my camera bag. Fast-forward six months to Christmas vacation, and I came across that memory card. I checked to see if there was anything on it and whattayaknow…”lost trip photos”.

So I guess this would make you a Raider of the Lost Card. (rim shot)

There were also a lot of other pictures, like her doing a fashion show in her room, pictures of a smiley face she’d drawn on her knee, her bedroom doorknob and ceiling fan (I’m not making this up). In other words, lots of things that if they weren’t there, they would’ve left plenty of room on the memory card for “real” pictures. But I digress.

:sad2:

Well, I'm sure it was a very nice-looking doorknob.

I was up and dressed by 7am, but the rest of my crew was still sawing logs despite getting to bed relatively early the night before. After making myself some coffee, I decided to walk around Kidani and take some pictures.

Once again, you've got some great ones!

From there, I walked out to the pool. Cool! They have a ping pong table out there now.

I was told by someone that the correct term is "table-tennis". So I kept calling it ping-pong in front of him, because that's the kind of guy I am. :stir:

Here’s the bridge where the slide empties into the pool. It’s such a focal point for the pool.

IMG_3579.jpg

Bridges are cool. And the little details in the theme are awesome, too.

Then I took a few pictures of the little tykes section of the water play area. Obviously, my kids are too old for this area, but last year I had some readers ask me about this section and I hadn’t taken any pictures to show them. Now I have some.

Admit it, you climbed up the ropes and tooks some trips down the slide here, didn't you? Because that's what I would have done. :thumbsup2

This would be such a nice place to sit and relax while your toddler has fun climbing and playing.

Your toddler, yes. :rolleyes1

Now cue the James Bond spy music. Ding dinga ding ding, ding ding ding ding dinga ding ding, da da da dah da, da da daaaa.

From Kidani With Love!

Then I went and took a picture of my favorite on-property bathroom, which is across from the exercise room.

Cool! But where's your favorite urinal? :confused3

IMG_3588.jpg

That’s my elbow you can see in the mirror. There were no other patrons in there.

Well, obviously that's your elbow. They're like fingerprints, really. :rotfl2:

Here are some candle-looking lights in the entryway, as I re-entered the lobby.

Looks awesome. And nice pictures!

I walked down the steps and went out to the animal viewing area. Here, you can see where our room was. It was in the first section on the right…see it?

Yup. I'm pointing at it right now.

I talked for a little while with a cast member from Africa, who was stationed out at the animal viewing area. While talking, I thought I should take the obligatory photo of the lobby window.

Well done! :thumbsup2

Love the Rocker Dude pic!

:cloud9: Your timing couldn't be better... I'm right now trying to decide where I want to stay next Dec., assuming I have choices at the 7-month mark. Since we were at Kidani last summer, I wasn't putting it very high on the list. But your photo tour is reminding me how much we enjoyed Kidani, so I'm reconsidering!

~sigh~ I miss Sanaa!

Up next: Glennbo becomes TRON
Ooo, did you storm Epcot on a Light Cycle?! :yay:

Do you mean to avoid being there !!!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

and rose hits one out of the park.

very nice update glenn, enjoyed the tour of the property i have not seen many of those locations so thanks.

the kid play area looked nice, but i thought there would be more in there, maybe i just had my bearings wrong on what i was looking at.

where there water slides in there?

I hadn't heard the WAAAHHHHmbulance joke yet.

.

Since this isn't the Captain's TR and I won't get any points if I'm right, I'm not going to do any extensive research......but I think the WAAAAAHmbulance joke is from Disney's The Kid with Bruce Willis. If you haven't seen it, it's a cute show.
